Simple, they want to maximize the profit, with Bitcoin they need to hold for few years in order to make a lot profit.

There are no other reasons behind that because cryptocurrency are essentially useful when it comes to anonymity, decentralization and offer a service in digital world. But, there are many offline project that create their own native token for crowdfunding, a way for foreigners to donate or participate the project.

Of course. Altcoins bring "easy money". Especially "meme" coins. Most people these days want to "get rich quick", so they will choose altcoins on top of Bitcoin. Even if 99% of the altcoins are centralized and unreliable "shitcoins". No matter how big altcoins grow, they will never be able to beat Bitcoin. It's not about what shiny-new features a coin has, or how profitable it is. But rather, how useful and reliable it is. BTC may be slow and expensive at times, but it's the best cryptocurrency in the world in terms of decentralization and censorship-resistance. It's also the one with the highest merchant adoption in the world.

Those who want a solid long-term investment, will choose BTC over alts anytime. It's even better than Gold. With how quick the crypto market moves, I wouldn't be surprised if new altcoins replace existing ones in the future. Lets carry on, shall we?

Altcoin is more profitable but also riskier. Saving in Bitcoin will secure your money and it is almost impossible for Bitcoin value to go to 0. But saving in altcoin you risk losing half or even 99% of your money if there is a rugpull on your altcoin. And if you are lucky you can get altcoin with profit up to 100% in a few months. This is the same as what happened to Manta, Render, Worldcoin, Meme Project and several other altcoins.

That is a fact. Most people get into Bitcoin before trying out altcoins. It's the most trusted cryptocurrency in the world. Still, we can't deny that people hold altcoins more than Bitcoin. Altcoins are inexpensive and full of shiny-new features. Of course, they're are much more volatile than BTC itself. You can easily lose all of your money if you're careless.

The main reason why people invest in altcoin is because they believe it can give them quick profit. I don’t know why most people do have that kind of mindset. Altcoins can give profits, but the risk is just too high because altcoins can fail at any moment. When we invest in bitcoin, we can get similar profits that we can get from altcoins, and when we invest in bitcoin, as long as we can hold, then we will be making profit without panicking that the project will crash at any moment. so many people actually looking for that kind of hidden gem and since such coin are quite frequent in the bullish market, people invests more and the market of alts become much more active with good gains and the cycle will be endless.

but I think the idea that bitcoin market cap is already too high that the volatility is low might also be huge contributor to the fact that there are many people who seeks volatility to profit off and alt serve exactly just that.

Which is a very very rare thing and yet people still think that it is possible for the ones they pick to become like that. I mean we know that it happens once every few thousand projects, which is why its such a low chance for it to go up like that, and we avoid it and carefully calculate our investments, and yet these people do not know that, or maybe know it but willing to take the risk and they end up with a lot of mistakes, which there is no need to do any of that.

I feel like its clear for all of us that bitcoin is the one to go, but even if we pick altcoins then we pick strong good coins, whereas these people pick stuff that may do 100x or crash and burn. If the chances were 50-50% then I would say it worths it, but the chances are mostly 0.001% to 99.999% so that is why there is no reason for me to take this type of risk, it doesn't make sense and there are some situations that caused this to be a very different situation without a doubt.

Although it is the same that you can get profit in Bitcoin and altcoins, the level of risk in altcoins is higher compared to Bitcoin. It is not possible to say that you will not earn from Bitcoin because that is wrong, because the assurance that you will really earn from Bitcoin is higher compared to altcoins. I agree with you. Bitcoin has managed to achieve 100% ROI this year. But altcoins can give you multiple times more profit. That is the reason why people still try to find and buy altcoins even though they know bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency in the world. Even though there is a risk of losing money if you choose a scam project, people still try to bet on altcoins to get the jackpot.
