Definitely no; I'm not going to depend on something that is 99% reliant on luck. It is easier said than done, and I doubt there are many people who can actually be called professional gamblers. Perhaps you could pair it with streaming, and through acquiring a large fan base, you could possibly turn it full-time, but that doesn't mean you should or that it'll last forever. Even then, I personally wouldn't go for it, as I'd rather not depend on something so periodic and uncertain.

Never thought of me becoming a professional gambler, it was so far away.
I play at gambling only as entertainment, the funds I use are also small and will not add to it.

Being very risky if you want to insist on being a professional gambler, unlike in movies that seem very professional and know what to do.

I don't think it is easy for anyone to become a professional gambler because the possibility of that happening is very slim since gambling is mainly based on luck and not skill. It is better one learn a skill or a trade rather than learning to become a professional gambler because there will be no prove to show that you are a professional since you cannot win the house hedge or bookmakers.

I am only gambling for fun and I don't want to go so deep into gambling to the point that I will think of using it to earn a living as that is a wrong mindset and not ideal because predicting the future is not something easy and such person might die of hunger.

I have other things that I am doing and am making money from, so I don’t really have the mindset to take gambling as my source of income, all I do is just gamble for fun, and whenever I win, I always make use of it. Also, taking gambling as a source of income is not really a good idea, because I have seen lots of people get addicted just because they are trying to make money from gambling, they are always finding it difficult to stop gambling when they should.
 
I don’t say making money from gambling is bad, but when some people are desperately trying to make money, they do end up being addicted to gambling, and at the end they will end up doing crazy things that they are not supposed to do. So the best thing is to just gamble freely and make sure you do your analysis carefully when gambling so that you will be able to win.

definitely not. It’s more like a hobby and there’s not always enough time for everything planned. I can’t imagine how it’s possible to organize it as a main job and earn money from it constantly and just like at my job. There are more risks and fewer benefits, so definitely not ,I don’t consider gambling as a source of main income.

Gambling is not a reliable source of income. Why will someone have such a plan that he or she wants to become a professional gambler in future?that should be a very bad idea. Infact I don't think anyone will have such a plan to become a professional gambler in the future. Gambling is all about luck, so to take it as your professional work I don't think it will make someone become wealthy.

As for me, I can't say I will stop gambling, but making gambling my profession is not something I can really do.Even if I don't have a well-paying job, I will continue to hope and think about finding alternatives to make money rather than fully focusing on gambling as a profession. It is true that some people make money from gambling, but they hardly make it their main source of income.

Well I think the only time someone can make a good leaving through gambling is when they hit a jackpot, because aside from Winning a jackpot there is no way to be on a steady winning in to be call a professional gambler, because you will lose more than you win in gambling that is certainly for sure.

I dream that one day I will hit a big jackpot winning that will change my financial life to the point of having the kind of money I am looking for right now, but after that luck I won't be an active gambler any more.

Never, and it never will cross my mind.  One of jeapoardy's biggest winners ever was a professional gambler from the Chicago area (where I"m from) and they had him on my local Chicago sports radio show where they interviewed him and discussed what it takes to be a professional gambler as this is what the guy did for a living.  Everything involved in becoming a professional gambler is just way too much for me to ever consider and you've got to have a lot of money and be able to stomach a lot of ups and downs.  Pass lol.

I have never considered gambling as a job capable of giving one some financial freedom. If I ever record a huge win from gambling, I'd rather invest my money in something more stable that I will be sure of getting steady returns from, instead of relying on gambling as a major source of income. I always put in my best in whatever job that generates income for me, I do not trust myself to be able to gamble within a favourable limit if I decide to be a full time gambler. It is best I gamble during my leisure time and see whatever I earn from gambling as a passive income.

What financial freedom are you referring to? It's not freedom when you begin to entangle yourself up with a habit that'll cost your life to quit if you ever fall for addiction. It's called SLAVERY!

Nonetheless, I don't have any plans of making out a profession in gambling. I should be motivated from the stories of the very few that have been a sole benefactor, but at the end, passion makes anything you're doing thrive.

I get why the thought of going Pro as a Gambler might be appealing to some especially with all those big win stories that are often circulated. But for me, gambling is nothing more than a pass time and an avenue to enjoy myself. Certainly not knocking on ways through which I would consider making a living. I personally have no desire to become a professional gambler because I realize that gambling is more about luck than skill.

I like to consider it as playing without the force of finances and realize luck may not stick. It is about being practical for me, and not taking gambling as a way of making big cash but within the limits of entertainment.

You have spoken really well bud, and I completely agree wit you, and to be honest with you, I don't really understand how it's possible that some people are able to turn gambling into their passive source of income, and maybe even their only source of income also.

Many a times I've mentioned on this forum that there are some group of boys who live around my neighborhood, I do not know anything else they do to make money aside from gambling, many people actually have assumed that their only and major source of income is gambling, but my personal experience with gambling with made me believe otherwise, even though I do understand that luck levels differs for different people, but still, I do not see how gambling earnings can sustain a person from year to year without such person ever going broke, like completely broke.

I never thought that I had to become a professional gambler, and pursue gambling so deeply like that until it could be said to be an expert, yes although sometimes sharing experiences with many gamblers on the forum and almost every week doing gambling, even if compared to trading I do more gambling that I do, but there was never an intention to become a professional gambler.

Gambling is just a place to find entertainment in my spare time and that will never change, but in the future it becomes destiny, maybe I can't refuse that.

Making a living off gambling is very possible and there are people out there who are even doing it already and it's been a profitable one for them but with others, it's been different probably due to their lack of experience or maybe inability to be able to get around their financial strength.

Before thinking of making gambling a thing you will be doing probably for a living, you should consider that it can also cost you all that you have got and so I don't see it as something I would want to do because I know for sure that it will only become a challenge to me especially when I become emotional and get on with my emotions, I may not be able to control what I will be doing well enough hence I may loose so much and it may get to me.

Personally, I don't find the idea particularly appealing. I guess, for most folks, gambling isn't exactly a solid plan for financial freedom.  The odds are stacked against you over the long haul.  But hey some whip-smart people have made it work, at least for a while.  They put in the crazy hours mastering the games, managing risk, finding an edge where others don't and I suppose - these are sharp minds calculating all the angles. 

Will it last? Who knows.  Maybe they flame out maybe they ride a heater to a plush retirement.  But you gotta admit they're working hard at a tough craft.  While luck plays its part, there's skill there too.  Me? I don't have the stomach for those kinda swings and round-the-clock grind.  But I try not to judge.  The safe road suits me fine, but I don't begrudge 'em trying to crack the code.  Takes all kinds I suppose.

Becoming a professional gambler is a decision I won't consider. Anybody who wants to do it should look into the cons and pros of being a professional gambler. It's helpful and at the same time stressful. Understanding the algorithms of your favorite game isn't a simple task. The whole process is weary, but successful gamblers are happy people.

They've mastered the art of smiling when losing. It doesn't piss them off anymore. That's an advantage. Its disadvantage is that venturing into such a risky career can ruin the player's life. No, I don't; in fact, I'm even afraid of thinking about gambling in such a way that I will see it as something that I will depend on. That fear of not being able to meet up to pay my bills because I didn't win a game won't even allow me to think of it that way.
 
Although it won't be a bad one if the person has the ability to make gambling a profession, there will be a very high chance of getting addicted in such a case without the person even realising it.

Why should I aim for that when I know already that even professionals still lose in gambling, so that's still pointless in the end. I am not here to enhance my skills nor increase my knowledge with different gambling games, but I'm just here to find pleasure and get entertained, winning is just a bonus.

Gambling has always been pure luck based. So whether you're professional or not, skillful or not, that won't matter in gambling since the edge will always be in the house.
