I believe there are many gamblers here in the forum who regularly share their wins and losses. But I'm curious—has it ever crossed your mind to consider becoming a professional gambler, someone who makes a living out of it and enjoys a life of financial freedom?

Capital no, I may have gambled so many times and still love to gamble once in a while but I have never thought of becoming a professional gambler he'll no. Making a living in gambling sounds so crazy cause most people who are addicted to gambling have sold some good properties to gamble but have nothing to show for it, I will choose to gamble when I want to while I have my jobs and businesses going but taking gambling as my occupation is never going to happen.

If we talk about becoming professional gambler and earning living from gambling to be able to enjoy life well must be the desire of many people, but this desire is not easy to realize and maybe only one in thousand people are able to do it.
But not everyone will be able to go through all the processes that exist to be able to truly become professional gambler, they must master all types of games and have lot of experience or knowledge.
And on the other hand there is one other thing that maybe only few gamblers are able to have and that is large amount of money, to become professional gambler must be willing to spend lot of money to learn and basically not all gamblers are able to do this.
Having that desire is very easy because the difficult thing is to achieve it, I personally will never have goals and thoughts like that because I understand how the I abilities.

This would be the worst mistake someone can make in his life. Thinking of being a professional gamblers only means that the person is thinking that he can make money from gambling. Successful gamblers are those that are making money from other sources and not thinking of gambling as a way of making money.

I agree, it's totally a ridiculous thing choice of profession, it's quite okay if you have something you are doing that gives you money asides from it, but if you consider making it a full time job then you might be disappointed.. starting up a gambling profession isn't easy, it requires time, effort and some capital.. what are my reasons for saying this, you need time to properly analyze games and also put in a lot of effort to do so because people must see that your winning percentage is high before they can think of paying you for predictions..you also need money to run adverts, so it's actually not easy if it's the only thing you plan to do in the future

Won't it be the same thing as gambling addiction? Taking gambling as a full time job is definitely something I'm not going to consider and it has never crossed my mind. I wont even encourage someone to take gambling as a full time job. How can someone depends on something that's mostly based on luck to be his full time job. Gambling should just be something that one take as a side hustle, so that you won't be under pressure when you are not winning, because a gambler won't be lucky all the time. What then happens to the bills when you are not winning or it will keep piling up till God knows when you are going to win and pay them off, what if you don't win? Gambling as a full time profession is going to disorganize one's life.

Making a living in gambling will just makes us lose much money without we realizes. The win from gambling will not happens many times but we can lose many times and that can affect to our capital and we will difficult to fills our daily needs. People out there must realizes that gambling is not a source of income and they must treat gambling as an entertainment and not a place to make money.

They can becomes professional gambler but they must thinks twice before they decide like that. They must thinks about what they needs to prepare and how long they can be professional gambler and how much money they must use. If they can be wise with themselves, they will not trying to becomes professional gambler because that will have big risks that can affect to their life.

If I will try to turn professional, that will mean that I must stop receiving fun from it, and be more serious. As well as I must reconsider my balances totally, which means I must have really a huge balance that I will be able to lose during career. With all due respect, this idea is false and those who propagate this idea are actually making money not from gambling and from many other things.

These people sell books, merchandise, run campaigns and promotions. They are often paid by casinos to fund their bankroll on media, eventually giving it back to the casino itself.

Hence never trust these people or the casinos that they promote. Gamble and you can also try to become like them, but dont assume that they are big winners from casinos, because they are not.

Gambling is not a noble work and it is not a profession and at the same time it never raises one's social status. So I think it is the biggest stupidity to decide to make a living on gambling. so I can't imagine what percentage of gamblers want to become a professional gambler in the future but those who are addicted to gambling probably give too much priority to gambling and waste their precious time on gambling. But he never thinks about what he will do in the future with gambling because he thinks about the present and now he likes to gamble so much that the main reason is that he has the desire and greed to win big jackpots. But I can speak for myself that I have no future plans for gambling.  But currently I enjoy gambling.

Indeed, it's a very expensive and risky goal to become a professional gambler. However, if it's possible, then there's a chance that some of us might become one in the future. I've seen a member here with huge profits per unit in his own thread; I think we can consider him a professional gambler since he's profitable in the long term, and the evidence is visible. Bankroll management really plays a vital role because it ensures that when we achieve a 53% win rate, we can already consider ourselves profitable.

Never, there are some reasons why I'm not interested to be professional gambler such as:
- Gambling is illegal in my country, so it is impossible to be professional gambler.
- Professional gambler is limited to few specific games only, poker and sports betting, in fact I'm not that good on these 2 type of gambling.

I think not since I don't also know if there's a possibilities to become a professional gambler by playing slot game or other luck based game aside from streaming your gaming session then monetize it. What I think that there would be a huge chance for them to reach at pro level if they are into Poker or other skill based games since from that maybe they can find a good career especially if they became so good and there's someone who could able to discover their talents or either they always participate on big tournaments.

But for me I don't think I'm interested in that situation since provably I will choose different path since gambling I usually gamble just for fun with no other big intentions involve.

The four reasons represent me, in the country where I currently live the local government strictly limits gambling activities in any form, it is a kind of strict prohibition, it is impossible for a professional gambler, as you said there is only one possibility if someone is able to become a master in the field of gambling, namely sports betting or other types that rely on skills where the percentage of winning chances can be very large depending on the person's ability and experience, well from what you said it's the same as me, not really having the ability to bet on sports, if I bet only on my favorite team for the excitement of the match.

in this case the dream of becoming a professional gambler in my opinion is very wrong, what is clear is that it is better to do business or invest than to become a pro gambler who relies on finances from betting results, it will drain a lot of money. gambling is just for entertainment nothing more than that

I have very big doubts about whether it can be called a profession at all. Gambling is an extremely uncertain, risky and ill-considered thing, it is a game, a chance, not a strategy. How can it be made into an activity for earning money? I do not understand how the methodology of such an activity is built, how one can make calculations and know what to count on.

Apart from losing in gambling I have good winnings in gambling but that doesn't mean I will rely on gambling. I am engaged in a different profession for income. I try to keep some of my extra money for gambling. I have no regrets about losing that money. I don't even dream of getting rich through gambling but anything that comes from winning makes me happy. I am not an addicted gambler. I have no regrets. I have no long term plans for gambling. I think part of the fun of gambling is that I like to do it my own way.

Don't forget those professional poker players. I can say, they are one type of gamblers aside from sportsbettors who can really make a living out of gambling activities. If the poker player is indeed playing for years and already gained his techniques and strategies, he can always join tournaments. Even here in this forum, you will find some poker tournaments on a regular basis.

On my end, I am not aiming to be a professional one as I have other plans to pursue. As I have suffered losses in gambling, I know this is very hard to make a living out of this.

Never in my wildest dreams have I imagined myself as a professional gambler. While I like gambling, I don't like doing it all the time. I don't even gamble always, unlike a lot of friends who don't want to miss every gambling opportunity. I gamble mostly based on mood.

I know of a whole lot of people who gamble almost by schedule like they set aside evenings on Saturdays or whole Sunday mornings for gambling. I also know a lot of people who bet on lotteries multiple times a day. For me, they're doing it wrong.

No, I don't; in fact, I'm even afraid of thinking about gambling in such a way that I will see it as something that I will depend on. That fear of not being able to meet up to pay my bills because I didn't win a game won't even allow me to think of it that way.
 
Although it won't be a bad one if the person has the ability to make gambling a profession, there will be a very high chance of getting addicted in such a case without the person even realising it.

I would never option to become a professional gambling neither will I encourage anyone to do that, gambling to my best of knowledge shouldn't be taken too serious not even to the extend of becoming a professional in it, one will apparently end up becoming addicted to gambling while chasing such profession which is very unrealistic because even those that seems to be very knowledgeable about gambling did that without preparing for it, I will suggest that anyone can do whatever they want with gambling but shouldn't have any kind of preparation of becoming a professional gambler even if he or she ends up becoming one.

I didn't think that way until now although im someone who can't escape gambling because i have to do it at least once a week but i don't want to use this as a job and I have no intention of becoming a professional gambler.  The reason is still very simple because i consider that this will not be able to be done easily and when i want to earn a lot of money then what I should do is work not gamble.  
I don't think that those professional gamblers are wrong because that is their fashion of earning money but it is against my concept .

I just want to gamble and have fun with what im doing in my current gambling,  i don't expect anything more because the profits i get i consider it a bonus and when I lose then i realize that gambling is indeed a concept like that where the ratio of losses is far greater than wins .

Every person or every gambler has a different mindset which of course makes them also have different choices, but for me honestly I would never dare to depend on my financial fate on gambling, especially in the long term, because after all this is an activity that can be very draining mentally and psychologically even though for example I have become a professional gambler, I can't imagine how much pressure I would feel when I have an emergency need while I am experiencing defeat in gambling.

I think there are still many other alternatives that can be used as better choices such as depending on the fate of the family's finances on a job, and of course maybe I would also say that depending on financial fate on an activity that is always unpredictable as a whole is a big mistake, unless you choose to become a bookie.

For me, to be a professional gambler and to enjoy a life of financial freedom don't fit on the same phrase. My concept of being a professional gambler and relying on this activity for a living, means to live under constant risks and uncertainities. A life of unstability which you never know if you will have money tomorrow or not. It's just too stressing to live that way, and as consequence I believe it will have a direct negative impact over the gambler's health.

If a gambler is lucky enough to hit a huge prize once, he should quit immediately, invest the money and then continue gambling only for fun. However, if he sees it as an opportunity of becoming a professional gambler who is intended to make regular income from it, I fear he is not only going to lose his entire prize, but also his whole patrimony pursuing something which can't be achieved.
