I believe there are many gamblers here in the forum who regularly share their wins and losses. But I'm curious—has it ever crossed your mind to consider becoming a professional gambler, someone who makes a living out of it and enjoys a life of financial freedom?

Nope, I don't  aim at getting to the class of  professional gamblers. I'am relist, thus I don't expect myself to win so much that would cover all living needs for me and my family.  God grant me more wins than losses at my current stance. I'm  stacking  paper at my current job, so the professional gambling  would mean a shitty thing for me.

It's very hard to describe a professional gambler in my opinion, and you're right about that, how is it possible to study gambling that relies so much on luck and find a way to get a strategy to get consistent winnings from gambling.

It can be a lot of work and a lot of money to get to that point, and I've never heard of a professional gambler except in movies. LOL

I'd rather focus on trading than focus on gambling for a living, although many people say it's similar but in the world of trading, you can get the right strategy in finding profits, and the skill factor can be decisive than the luck factor here.

The only thing that i do consider professional gamblers are to those;

1. Could stop mid way neither on a great loss or having that huge win.
2. Could be able to control their gambling urge on each sessions
3. Doesnt compromise their life savings
4. Doesnt compromise their priorities in life

Talking literally about making up bets or playing then there are really actually those people or gamblers who are really that sustaining themselves on this gambling field.
Yes, its hard to believe since gambling is really that heavily relying with luck but we do know that there would really be those individuals who are really that surviving despite of such condition.
It would really be just that not something that you are making these things to be your inspiration because on the time that you would really be doing these stuffs then you are
really just that basically putting up yourself on such big trouble. So better be careful with your decisions and just stick about gambling is really just that for the sake of fun.

I think it's more of a responsible gambler rather than a professional gambler, linguistically it doesn't fit the meaning of what is considered a professional which is an expert in a particular field.

Therefore there are no professional gamblers if based on those points, but maybe you have a different opinion about professional gamblers and it's valid if you think that way, but by the definition of professional itself then it is not worth saying as someone who is an expert in a particular field or called a professional.

If you are conversant with a similar topic or many other discussions linked to this even in topics that are not directly related, you would know that it's a very bad idea to rely on gambling for a living. Gambling is so risky and no one would know its outcomes. The very moment you believe the winning is certain is the time it would disappoint you. Now tell me, is it reliable to set anyone free financially? Certainly not. The best is to make gambling your passive means of income while you have a viable primary source of income that will even be sufficient to fund your gambling without issues and still be sufficient for you to fall back on if gambling disciplines you. Anything other than this is going to put you in serious trouble.

I don't think there are professional in gambling because there is no way you will gamble a week or month you will not experience loss or win in your gambling, because professional don't need to lose his or her gambling  all the time. Never you make gambling an investment because it has make many people to lose their money, and there are sometimes, the more you increase the amount of money on gambling, the more you will be losing sometimes which is the reason I said don't make gambling an investment.

Make sure you have amount of money you use to gamble, and there is nothing can make you to play above that amount  in the gambling whether winning or losing, you will not continue.

It has crossed my mind but I knew to myself that I could just be setting myself up for failure(which would probably be true). As much as I like gambling I am not stupid enough to risk my stable income for something that could put my financial security at risk. also, being a professional gambler is not rainbows and sunshine where you can always enjoy financial freedom.

Indeed, it might be a path to failure but it can be a source of income for you but it shouldn't be your occupation or main source of income, most of these so called punters have other businesses they are into, they claim to be professional gamblers but they have what they do for work...How do they make most of their money from the gambling business?? No, it has never crossed my mind. I'd rather be an investor. I once thought I might do trading, but it was too exhausting and you can't do it consistently unless you go long term.
Gambling is more or less the same. You can be successful, but those who are are consistent with their wins are 1% of all gamblers.

Professional gamblers have no primary aim of money. The characteristics you mentioned are their actual goal. Over the period before a player begins to feel like a professional, he must have understood that gambling doesn't offer much money.

unfortunately the benefits in gambling cannot be obtained with certainty so the chances are that the gambling that is done will only end in defeat. those who gamble to get rich are people who in my opinion are too short-sighted where they cannot see the fact that defeat will occur more often than victory of course this will drain their finances gradually, there is also the side of luck that can make them win but there is no certainty with the amount and time.

WTF is a professional gambler? It is not a skill that you can refine to become a professional. If anything, unless there is a steady source of a net positive (like an income or other gains) then you are merely an experienced gambler. Sure maybe even an expert gambler.

Personally I’ve had several thoughts of becoming a professional gambler if I have the means or chance to be and as a professional gambler for me, I wouldn’t have to gamble with little money but rather take much bigger risk because there’s where the reward lies.

I don't want to be a professional gambler. I don't understand how a gambler can become a professional? Gambling is played for fun. So gambling should not be taken as a profession. Gambling is either win or lose. Gambling depends on your luck. No matter how professional and experienced you are, if you have bad luck, you will lose. I will gamble what I can afford to lose but I will not gamble more than that. People who gamble are hated in our society. Although I don't gamble much though sometimes I gamble online so that no one knows.
