yesterday saw the first 4 matches in this year's dfb cup competition and thus also the first ''mandatory matches'' for some first bundesliga teams
bayern clearly won their first round match at second bundesliga promoted team ulm. the three other bundesliga teams had to go beyond the 120 minutes and penalty shoot-outs
let's see if there will be a surprise today...

Honestly, I feel unfamiliar with some of the teams in this DFB Cup competition. But seeing the results of yesterday's matches made me interested in betting on the match because almost all of the favorite teams won.

Today there are 4 matches but I chose 3 matches that I think can provide benefits.

Energie Cottbus vs Werder Bremen (Werder Bremen win)
Kickers Offenbach vs Magdeburg (Magdeburg win)
TuS Koblenz vs Wolfsburg (Wolfsburg win)

I'm sure my prediction is correct but unfortunately the odds are very small. So I have to choose to bet BTTS, Under and over to get higher odds.

Kickers Offenbach vs Magdeburg

I preferred to just bet on the 1. FC Magdeburg game against Kickers Offenbach because it has good odds in case 1. FC Magdeburg wins the game. I confess that I don't know both teams well, I don't know the squads of both teams well, but from the few data I could see about both teams, I concluded that placing a simple bet on 1. FC Magdeburg to win the game could be a good option, for the same reason that I already bet on 1. FC Magdeburg to win. At the moment the game is in its 26th minute and 1. FC Magdeburg is dominating the game, so I hope they can score a goal in the 2nd half, I don't see them scoring a goal in the 1st half.

TUS Koblenz 1911 - VfL Wolfsburg

VfL Wolfsburg have already scored a goal and in my opinion will win this game

Energie Cottbus - Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen are dominating the game, but they haven't managed to score yet and in my opinion they will win this game.

There is no shocking elimination of a Bundesliga team for now as far as I can see. It was Nuri Şahin's first official game with Dortmund and he got a very satisfying result. He is one of the managers I'm curious about the most honestly. The reason why, he is very young (35). He retired from professional football quite early and didn't want to give a long break before starting his manager career.

He would also be a manager to be praised a lot if he manages to achieve some trophies with Dortmund soon. For example DFB Pokal.    It is more possible than a Bundesliga trophy in theory now.

the remaining 4th league team kickers offenbach will play at home against the 2nd league team karlsruher sc
defending cup champions leverkusen play at home against elversberg (2nd league) and there are also 4 bundesliga duels such as wolfsburg vs. dortmund
the second round will take place on october 30 and 31

three first bundesliga clubs were eliminated. dortmund 0-1 at wolfsburg, st. pauli 2-4 at leipzig and kiel 0-3 at second bundesliga club köln.
today the remaining 8 matches will take place in which at least two more clubs will be eliminated from the 1. bundesliga

yesterday the remaining 8 games in the 2nd round took place and there were two surprises where lower league clubs eliminated a bundesliga team
hertha bsc berlin (2nd league) got a 2-1 home win against fc heidenheim and arminia bielefeld (3rd league) won 2-0 against union berlin
the following clubs have now qualified for the round of 16, which will be drawn this sunday:

The DFB Cup matches are coming up and FC Bayern Munich will play Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16.

Holy shit. Crazy match tbh and the "early final" if you ask me. The team that wins the match will likely lift the trophy at the end of the season since Borussia Dortmund are already out of the tourney.

VfB Stuttgart have an easy game and will probably advance to the quarter-finals. And RB Leipzig play Eintracht Frankfurt, which should be another pretty exciting match.

biggest surprise was the home win of the third league team arminia bielefeld against the bundesliga club from freiburg
the top match was won 1-0 by defending champions bayer leverkusen against bayern in which bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer saw his first ever red card (17th minute) after a total of 864 games

Right now Koln - Hertha Berlin game continues with an extra time. It is 1-1 and Hertha are playing with a red card. I think Koln can finish this before taking it to penalty shootouts. Wolfsburg already got a very comfortable 3-0 win against Hoffenheim and moved on to the quarter finals. Now there are 2 games left:

Karlsruher SC - Augsburg
Leipzig - Frankfurt

Even though Frankfurt aren't favoured by bookmakers, I believe in them to reach next stage.

Bayern Munich lost and Kane also lost another opportunity to go for his first official title in his career...    What an unlucky player man.

Harry Kane is such an unlucky player. He came to Bayern Munich at a time when the club had won eleven titles in a row. The time he came Bayern lost the trophy in a ground style to Bayer Leverkusen. Now they just lost the chance of winning a trophy with Kane. As I saw that Manuel Neuer had received a red card, I knew that the match wouldn't going to be easy for Bayern. They did all they could but playing with one man down against a formidable side like Leverkusen will be difficult. There might be something called the "Harry Kane curse".

The DFB competition is taking into the right shape with 6 team remaining are playing in the first German division Bundesliga with the other 2 teams are from 2nd division and 3rd division. I think so far with Bayern Munich knocked out their rivals the favorite is now Bayern Leverkusen who are the current holders of the competition.

Bayern leverkusen will face 1. Fc Koln at home, this is for sure an easy pass for the Xavi Alonso men, we know this is football and anything can happen but I don’t see 1. Fc Koln beating Bayern leverkusen in this quarter final fixture.

The Liepzig vs Wolfsburg fixtures seems to me the toughest in this quarterfinal fixture as both teams are are doing well in the league, Liepzig are fourth in the bundesliga but still kinda struggling while Wolfsburg are have lost just one match in their last 9 games in all competitions. So it going to be an interesting one to watch.

Stuttgart will face Augsburg and maybe not an easy win but I still see a win for stuttgart as they have always beat Augsburg for the last 3 years, so now playing at home again in the quarterfinals will just be another easy pass for them.

Werder Bremen takes on third division Arminia bielefield, Werner Bremen have been doing well this season, scoring goals for fun and they tends to score in every game this season. With their performances so far this season I will say for sure they deserve to be in the semifinals, for sure it going to be a tough one because it away from home but I see them beating a third division team.

today is the derby between leverkusen and cologne . bundesliga vs. 2.bundesliga . i'm betting on a win for the favourites leverkusen .
it's sure to be a good evening of football in the sold-out bayer arena . thousands of fans from cologne are guaranteed to be in the stadium .
we fans can expect a great atmosphere . the match starts tonight at 8:45 pm

Bayern Leverkusen advanced to Semi final after a narrow win against FC Cologne. Just like like season, Bayern Leverkusen recorded a dramatic victory against Cologne in their quarter final tie last night after making a great comeback and draw the game on a regular play time. Victor Boniface scored the winning goal in extra time to push Leverkusen into the Semifinal. I actually did not expect such high tensed game from Cologne and assumed Leverkusen would get easy win. They actually got the win eventually but it was a very tough game for both teams. By the way, why is this thread not too active or people have less interest on this competition? Just curious!

maybe only a few users are really interested in the german dfb cup . the english cup seems to be much more interesting .
but as a german i also watched the match yesterday . it was really dramatic at the end of the regular time . i also bet on a win for leverkusen .
but 2:2 after 98 minutes ? never . the cologne team showed a great match . but in the end leverkusen reached the semifinals . leverkusen is the team of the last minutes .
always good for one or two goals

I think the German DFB Cup suffers a lot when Bayern is out. In my opinion the most interesting games in the finals are when Bayern is there and then some other strong team like Leverkusen or Leipzig or maybe Frankfurt on a good day. Of course the best finals were played when Dortmund was still a good team. Those finals were legendary, I think I recall one of them ending 5-2 for Dortmund. But if it is something like an outsider against another medium strong team, it's not that interesting and yes, the FA Cup is far more interesting.
