if Jenkins and Wright were truly just after the $3,000, why in the world would they shoot Delacruz twice in the leg and Chambliss once in the calf?

to me as a lawyer, this points to 2 possibilities:

(1) Delacruz (and/or Chambliss) knew Jenkins and Wright and this incident was payback for a prior situation; or

(2) Delacruz made Jenkins and Wright angry

if it was situation number 1, Delacruz was involved in some bad business

if it was situation number 2, Delacruz acted irrationally in this situation

either way, local authorities need to get to the bottom of this one

I don't understand why the robbers did this, because $3,000 is a small amount in the US, you can't buy much for that money. if I hard the dude correctly, after he hit the jackpot he jumped up and started dancing which must have signaled the two guys to have a thought about them. This sort of event is so regular when someone wins a jackpot and some have to even exit thier homes and travel far away from any known residence the same night they win jackpot just so they can protect themselves from these kinds of occurrence.
