Ideological differences are normal behavior for a nation that state authorities are rigidly or flexibly controlling. The lowest level of ethnic ties in a country is the society. The stronger the religious values of the people of that society, the stronger the bond between the people of a country and the patriotism between them can be more intense and patriotism is most important for the overall development of a country. Religious freedom of a country can create a peaceful environment among the people of that country which is essential for the economic progress of the country as a whole.

Sometimes religious values doesn't equate good economy and Nigeria is a typical example. Nigeria is one country with a high religious followership, there is literally no Nigerian that doesn't believe in one religion or the other, from the president, to the governor's and LGA chairmen all belongs to one religion or the other.

However this has not helped to build a sustainable economy for the country. in building a country, you need strong institutions and laws to guide the society of any country, if you check in the world, there is no country that is great economically based on religion values alone, what has made them to be strong economically has been policies of government that has been followed over time.

So if we want to improve our economy, we need to have instant laws and strong institutions like the judiciary, the police, civil service system that is not corrupt and the law enforcement agents in general to do their work diligently, that way we can build our economy.

If the society operates a mono religious setting, then it's positive that they could live peaceably with themselves which in some way could help the economic thrive if they're willing to work together but such is not the case with the current society most expecially in our Nigerian setting where we operate multi dimensional religious system with ethnic differences that has done more harm than good to our society.

Economic growth are not built on religious ground or based on the relationships between average people in the society. If we even consider that  the relationship between the higher class people in the society and the lower class is what helps a nation grow economically, then thier might be some sense with that. Our economy is suffering seriously even though we're one of the strongest religious hub in the world.

It depends on the nature of the people in which you are referring to. I think this assertion is arguable because in many ways because, although there are countries with strong religious beliefs which have really impacted positively in the development of the country especially as far as bond and human capital development is concerned. But there are citizens that practice religion in the core but are also hypocrites at same time. Hypocracy is one thing that have demoralized religious standards within the community.

You see people in physical as religious but in their hearts it's a different thing and they end up envying each other and truncating the development of the country. It is this Hypocracy that brought about religious militias like the Boko Haram, ISWAP as well as religious fanatics like Mohammed Yusuf, Shekarau and other notable guys causing mayhem in the country.

In Nigeria every people maintain harmony and mutual discipline with people of other religions which can be ideal for every country. Religiously, whatever religion people believe in, there must be some socially ideological commonalities which practically ensure order, justice and mutual co-existence in the society. And when religious beliefs among people can work ideologically to build a country, it is a massive positive change not only in economy but at every level. If you look at the United States of America, you will see that every person regardless of caste, religion, color is practicing his religion and ideologically ensuring his contribution to every activity of the country. This is possible due to the ideological considerations that he receives through religious discipline.

For the sustainable economy of a country, the mutual coexistence among the people of that country is the most important and that social identity of the people is combined with the religious discipline.
