After Navarrette and Valdez slug it out back 2023 where Navarrette won by a unanimous decision, the two are at it again, even if the fight ended in a unanimous decision win for Navarrette the fight was so excited that many predicted that they will do it again in the future and so they did and they are here again.

Quote
Emanuel Navarrete and Oscar Valdez are once again in each other’s crosshairs.

A title consolidation fight was ordered by the WBO late Wednesday evening. Both sides will have 20 days to reach terms, or it will head to a purse bid hearing.

https://www.ringtv.com/674387-emanuel-navarrete-oscar-valdez-title-consolidation-bout-ordered-by-wbo/

The first fight is both entertaining and competitive but I still believe that Navarrette will still emerge as the winner because of his edge in height, reach and skill.

I also think that the result will be the same if Valdez could not cut the distance between him and Navarrete. The latter is so clever that he uses his size advantage over the smaller Valdez ( small in terms of height). But if Valdez could land those heavy bombs early, he could have a chance but i doubt it would happen.

Yes, it might have to end the same, as Navarette is too big for Valdez, so I'm not surprised that he will be knockout again or the match will be one sided. And for me, Valdez though has already reach his prime and could be going down the hill, he has some losses to great boxers and then the wear and tear.

Surprise though that Navarette is still wanting to rematch him after his dominating win, perhaps Navarette is not ready to go up to the next weight class as he lost his fight trying to move up. It make sense though, as I have check the rankings, Valdez is the interim WBO champion while Navarette is the regular champion.

Valdez lost the first fight because he tried to engage in a slugfest with Navarrete who only knows how to come forward and throw a lot of punches. If he can be smarter and fight a more technical fight, it will be a closer fight but we cannot expect an older fighter to change his style overnight. Valdez will probably end up taking too much damage once again and will have to consider retirement if he loses this fight.

Navarrette has the advantage in terms of body posture, he will get big advantage in this fight as before which was really able to suppress Valdez, the distance between the two will never be able to affect Navarrette to be able to corner Valdez.
Only thing that Valdez can do is just keep his distance and try to be able to withstand every attack by Navarrette, besides that Valdez must also try to keep finding gaps so that he can give some incoming punches.
But this will be fight that will again make it difficult for Valdez, some people predict the results of this fight will only be like before where victory remains Navarrette.
For KO victory, it is very unlikely to happen because Valdez himself has very good endurance.

There are small boxers who are good at cutting distance. Valdez is a guy who knows how to cut the distance against tall opponents, but unfortunately, Navarette is one guy who knows how to use his height advantage; he always imposes his height because he uses his jabs to keep the distance, and he is a rapid puncher.

If I remember correctly, he holds the record for most punches thrown in one fight. For Valdez to win this time, he needs to be very aggressive and take a lot of risks because Navarrette will use the same strategy of imposing his height and pouring Valdez a lot of punches.

I predicted the fight would take off where they left off, and they would just along the way. I see Navarrette winning the fight in the same fashion.

Best fighters won't talk that much, and if your recall those remarkable trash talks ended up ruthless in their fight histories and went losing against those silent counter puncher boxers. Much better if they'll show us the actions not only words, because that will prove everything in the ring corner beforehand. The only main thing here is results, we can't rely on their mouths only, our eyes looks for an outcome before final decision happens.

Yes, there are great fighters that don't trash talk like Manny Pacquiao. But this new breed of fighters are different, they can back up their trash talking and it makes the fight more exciting as it is part of the game and also to sell fights.

Valdez is not a trash talker though, same with Navarette, they just love to bang inside the ring and so this could be as engaging as the first couple of rounds until Navarette takes over just like the first time. I haven't check the betting sites but for sure, Navarette will be the favorite again, and Valdez will be like 3:1 underdog, I reckon.

They both embodied the Mexican spirits in boxing, so even if Navarrette is the favourite in this fight, it's still an exciting fight to watch because Mexicans are known to go all out in the ring; you seldom see Mexicans backing out of the fight, or quitting they are going to fight to the death.

In the first fight, Navarrette dominated the fight because he effectively used his height, but we never know. Valdez is a former undisputed champion, and he is hungry to get back the titles; he will lose a lot if he loses this fight, so I'm sure he will take risks.

For a fight that ends in a unanimous decision, it might not be the most exciting to watch. I also think that Navarrete is still going to dominate, and he might work even harder since he’s coming off an upset loss. With almost four months until the fight, they have enough time to train and prove us wrong by making this an interesting matchup. I wonder if Valdez could become more technical to defeat Navarrete because if not, Navarrete might once again use his advantages, outscore Valdez, and win via unanimous decision.

Let's hope Navarette could make it become one of the top again, and that could prove his best. Though we can't compare them with Manny's humbleness in terms of fighting and attitude, well this new breed of fighters will ultimately show what they've got on both words and fighting reality. Hopefully in future fights, I could place a bet on any of them but maybe just a 30% of any amount that I have in order to have a good try.

For a fight that ends in a unanimous decision, it might not be the most exciting to watch. I also think that Navarrete is still going to dominate, and he might work even harder since he’s coming off an upset loss.

I wouldn't say that it was a upset, he was moving up in weight and obviously facing a tough fighter that is naturally bigger and he is the champion. So what we can say is that Navarette thinks that he can just overcome them, just like what he did at 130 lbs because he was bigger. But at 135 lbs, he was just regular and so he lost that fight.

With almost four months until the fight, they have enough time to train and prove us wrong by making this an interesting matchup. I wonder if Valdez could become more technical to defeat Navarrete because if not, Navarrete might once again use his advantages, outscore Valdez, and win via unanimous decision.

It's really very hard to think how Oscar Valdez can defeat Navarette though, he is too small for Navarette and he could be bullied again in this fight. Unless he suddenly found his rhythm and then had a flawless game plan and his left hook is still there for him because that is his best weapon.

Yup, fighting style will not change overnight and most probably Valdez will still be charging towards Navarrete hoping that he might land those heavy bombs and hurt the latter but i don't think that Navarrete would easily succumb to Valdez's attack. I do agree that if Valdez would lose this fight then i think it would be time to hang up his gloves for good.

Valdez has some power, so if he doesn't change his style and remains aggressive, he needs to make sure to do it with good timing to avoid getting tired by the end. Losing via unanimous decision in their previous match shows that his game plan didn't work, so he needs to adjust. This doesn't mean he has to change his style entirely, as that might affect his confidence, but since timing is everything in boxing, that's what he needs to focus on.

Yes, maybe it's time for him to hang up for good, although he could still be fighting some B-side fighters and win. But against the best in this division, he will surely be on the losing end.

Not sure what kind of adjustments he has to take against a bull like Navarette, but we have seen Navarette's weakness, Liam Wilson was able to put him in the canvass and we thought that there could be some upset. So they have one common opponents and they both beat Wilson.

But it was not very effective against Navarette in their first fight, it's the pressure of Navarette and it seems that Oscar although known to be a good fighter, what not able to withstand. And it was reported that Navarette suffered or injured his hands in the fight that's why he slowed down a bit but Oscar was not able to take advantage because he is already take a lot of damage as you can see after that fight. And then the style of Navarette as well, very unorthodox and then the he put so much pressure, throws a lot that might gradually take Oscar's offense and then he can't defend himself against the power of the bigger guy.

It will be one and a half month to go before this very exciting match and I would like to add that the undercard is also very exciting to watch; its a match between Rafael Espinoza and Robeisy Ramirez This contest is for the WBO featherweight championship of the world.

This is actually a rematch and the first match was action-packed; both fighters were toe toe all throughout the fight The fight was so close until Espinoza shows too much determination to score a knockdown in the last round en route to a majority decision, you have to see the first match for you to have a glimpse of what's coming in this rematch, I'm more excited to see this rematch than the main card.  Cheesy
