I have an unredeemed one. Wondering how much I could get for it if I got it graded. 1 BTC coin. Also wondering how to go about selling it. Thanks.

If I recall correctly, these are pretty rare - only a few hundred were minted, and less were hologrammed and loaded before they stopped selling loaded coins. I'd reckon maybe 300-400 were finally loaded and sold.

I've never seen one graded, and you may have some trouble having it graded as loaded unless you happen to have the PGP signed message linking the serial to the address - some grading services don't grade pieces as loaded unless the coin has the firstbits directly, or the serial<>address mapping can be verified somehow.

I'd reckon you can get a small premium on it - market recently for big ticket collectibles has been quieter.

Grading: You would have to ship the coin to PCGS or hand off in person at one of the coin shows they attend, but they would still have to ship the coin back to you
              If you used ICG, you can go in-person to them for drop-off and pick-up, but would still physically have to get to ICG which may incur travel expenses.

Selling: Would be the same as grading... better if you can do in person so as to not have to ship/mail the coin

At this price point it is seemingly no longer a good idea to ship coins for whatever reason unless you are ok with potentially loosing a $60k+ coin
Also, there is no postal insurance that will cover digital values

Probably recommend peeling and redeeming the coin and then sell/auction off the carcass

That’s because stacks gets all the premium. 20% buyers premium so seller loses out, 10% sales tax approx - and isn’t it $500 delivery on items over 25k (something like that)

I would assume those would have sold here for 1.2 btc or more as a fair ask. But still the logistics of getting it delivered

I would assume those would have sold here for 1.2 btc or more as a fair ask. But still the logistics of getting it delivered

I don't think you're going to be looking at 1.2BTC here for a regular Cas or similar coin at this stage - at least, not within the cohort of long time collectors here. Perhaps if we saw an influx of the crowd bidding on GA or S&B premiums would rise a bit, but I'd be surprised to see coins without a significant rarity or provenance factor fetching 1.2BTC today.

Agreed. Looking at 1BTC based on recent sales.

The OTOH collection at Heritage sold around 1BTC including premium.

It's not a silver cas, so the brand recognition is not there. Making the market smaller, pretty much confined to the forum to sell this.

the private keys don't have a history of established safety like cas either.

I think the coin is really nice and an excellent piece though. Even if it may not demand the premium of a cas silver.

I've only recorded one sold since 2021, a redeemed one, and it was actually a trade; 1 Crypto Imperator 10,000 BTC loaded coin for 1 Redeemed Rescalescence and 1 redeemed 50,000 Shibanu

How much of a hair? Lol. Just want to make sure the cost and effort of trying to get it graded is worth it. I'm sure you understand. It's been in an air tight seal in my safety deposit box since about 2014 I think. I do like the idea of keeping it in tact and loaded as a piece of history. I would have liked to do that if I could afford to.
