Ours is from Cameroon, whenever Cameroon opened their dam, it affects Nigeria very badly and mostly my region which is always the most affected area by flood so I know how you feel. And two things might involved by the Little Mouse switch off of phone. Either the phone fell inside water or no electricity to power the phone battery and he is busy saving his family with their properties so there is no chance to look for a place to charge the battery. But calm down, the situation will be under control. The government was not prepared for that so the drainages were blocked to case the flood the more. Take heart and encourage yourself. Floods are pretty common to us here to in PH and we know the struggle of floods, going to evacuation center, no accessible roads, no electricity, no internet worst is limited foods.
Since this is very sudden because of releasing huge tons of water from dam/s that also means a limited food source on their every house, if the house is prone to flooding i mean no second or third floor, no food stocks then that is the worst thing to happen since they need to go to evacuation centers if there is. I really hope LM and his family is okay.

If you have not experienced flooding before, you will never know what the people of Bangladesh are facing at the moment especially as the dam was opened without proper publicity according to the OP. We have experienced flooding as a result of dam opening too and even though we were given early noticed, the flood still wrecked havoc in my area, destroying houses, farmlands and even killing many people thereafter came famine. I wish LM and other affected will be fine and be able to overcome this challenge.

That's good to know--Bangladesh is on the other side of the world from me, but I know a few immigrants from that country who work in my area (not that well, but enough to know where they came from) and if I see one of them in the next day or so, I might delicately bring up the subject.  I can't even fathom a disaster hitting close to home like that.  Jesus.

....All right, maybe things aren't improving so quickly.  In any event, I hope the situation does get better for Bangladesh and that Little Mouse is OK and is just out of contact temporarily.  It sucks when forum personalities, which are generally anonymous and abstract, suddenly become real because of tragedies.  I'm sure he's not the only member from Bangladesh who's disappeared (hopefully not permanently), so my thoughts go out to all the victims of the flood--users of bitcointalk or not.

After your post I went to read news about the flood and found out how bad things as been there, I pray God help everyone there and things become better because this is really difficult times for those affected by the flood, not just LM.

You don't really know what is happening there, especially the political tension and Bangladesh's president seeks INdia's help to control the chaotic situation which started Anti Indian waves among Bangladesh for the past few weeks and now this natural calamity strikes and their Media outlet trying to take advantage of this.

There are multiple Landslides all over India due to unexpected heavy rain, and Bangladesh is not very far from having the similar climate changes.

Someone who lives in a glass house has no idea what it's like to be displaced by water; even if you survive, your life will never be the same; I have colleagues who are still struggling for shelter and basic needs, moving from one IDP camp to the next struggling to live a normal life.

We can only hope and pray that he will be okay and he is not contactable because of lack of internet or tending to some serious real life issues. I have interacted with LM on a couple of occasions but has always been through forum pm so i have no personal contacts that can be used to get to him.

My hopes and prayers also go to all Bangladeshis affected by the floods. Especially regarding @Little Mouse and other bitcointalk forum users from Bangladesh, I hope everything is fine and will return to the forum under normal conditions. This is a natural disaster that is very undesirable, therefore I really hope that everyone there will be given safety and will also be handled well by the government.

I read the news about the number of deaths due to this flood. At least 15 people died as a result of the flood and 4 of them came from Akaura in Brahmanbaria District (drowned and were electrocuted). I cannot confirm the correctness of the number of victims, but it is news that comes from a trusted source.

Exactly and the Op didn't make any political statement and all what he said was, it was India Government opened their DAM which causes the flooding of Bangladesh and if really India opened the dam then it is not accusation again but it is the fact because the end result is already manifesting in Bangladesh so I don't know why worldofcoins and pakhitheboss picked up the argument and politicized it.  India opened a dam which affected some districts in Bangladesh so their is no big deal here. And I said, this is just like an annual issue in Nigeria. Cameroon opens their dam every year and it affects some regions in Nigeria. Even this year Nigerian government has asked those regions to have precautions against the flood so we are all alert on it.

worldofcoins and pakhitheboss should not take it personal. The Op made it general and not personal. If their is any political rift between them then they should argue on P&S to settle their grievances and not here which you is for specific member in the forum.
