I'm safe and my family members too. This flood didn't affect me heavily. I had enough foods and other stuff (except source of lamp) in my house. But it was a huge one for the people around us, for the villages around our village.

Basically we were totally out of internet, electricity. I got my phone charged a little (43%) from power generator and every bit of the charge was very much important for me. We were short of lamp/candle as there was no transportation system. I even had taken foods with the light of my phone.

I was active on the forum for maximum a minute or so. I thought to make a post here but I was too busy for the last few days. We (self made volunteer team) had to ensure the food for the needy people. Considering everything, it wasnt a good time to write a post here. Hopefully all the campaign participants and others will understand the situation.

Special thanks to LB. You are always welcome and invited in my house. It wasn't a good time, you had to take huge risk and hassle to reach me which is why I asked to go back.

PS- I'm taking donations for repairing houses. A lot of people lost their home. They need huge money. If you would like to donate, please send me a DM. It's all about trust, I can't show you all the expenses here as we will do this for mass people, also I won't be the only one to spend the money. It seems to me (this is not a reproach or an attempt to teach you how to do it), you should take care of alternative sources of energy (gasoline generator) and the Internet (maybe Starlink?) for such emergency force majeure situations, because you are not an ordinary user, but a manager who is responsible both to the customer and to the participants of the signature campaign. I am a supporter of the fact that obligations are fulfilled between both parties to the deal / agreement, even despite the difficulties that arise. Unfortunately, as practice shows, life is unpredictable, but an indicator of high qualification can be the ability to perform job duties under any circumstances. Let me recommend that you take care of alternative ways to ensure the fulfillment of your manager's duties (sources of electricity and the Internet). I understand that you are going through difficult times and your environment needs help, but the signature campaign participants also need you and for some, the reward you receive can be as vital as for your neighbors who are in trouble and need help.

I don't think any other campaign manager has emergency power and backup internet. What's the point if your house is flooded anyway? I'm pretty sure more people end up in a hospital than flood on average, and you can't mitigate all potential risks.

No matter how many backup plans you have in place, nothing can help in the event of a natural disaster especially these kinds of flash flood disasters. And in these natural disasters, saving people's lives is a big issue, other backup issues are the next thing.

And talking about the satellite internet in Bangladesh Starlink had been welcomed by the government but it hasn't gotten the license yet from the government. So from this region peoples can't have the starlink or any satellite internet if they want. And again, no matter how responsible you are, all backup plans can fail in this kind of natural disaster.

Good to know you and your family are safe @Little Mouse, I know the stress you must have gone through within this periods that you suffered no or low internet connectivity and the flooding in your region even though you have the resources to take care of your family but the inconvenience you've faced is not easy. I was a victim to flooding in 2012 and 2022 precisely and I know the stress I passed through within those periods because my house was actually flooded above window level.

I suggest if you need donations to assist people who lost their homes to the flood and to provide relief materials or palliatives to the internally displayed people you can consider Opening a new thread to ask for donations, my humble opinion though.

That’s a good one for majority here who have multiple accounts and farm campaigns they’re wasting their time by doing so, they can use that time to learn something and provide it in the market.

Nice to hear that you are in a save place. Flood was a natural phenomena or disaster in those days but now flood is a man made disaster to suffer others. And the worst part of it is that, politicians are using this flood to make money and those who were severely affected by the flood would/will not get any palliative. All the donations from international and local bodies would be siphon to private use by local politicians.

Because the people in these flooded areas are suffering so much, it will take a long time for them to basically repair their homes. The water is still at a normal level, so I request them to help repair their houses and provide food and other furniture, especially if money reaches them. And if everyone helps it will be easier and more flood affected people will also find it
easier to survive because they will get help.

Most of all some districts of Bangladesh have been affected the most by these floods, as it is the carelessness of the Indian government that India is responsible for the most tragic outcome for the people of Bangladesh. But I'm very glad that this flood has helped, although LM you will try hard to stay healthy and we wish you well. But of course it should help all people like us to come forward to help more people, if someone can help even with a little money then we can help many people who are fighting for flood relief.

I just checked official Starlink website and it will be available next year in your country. Sadly there’s no better alternative on Starlink if you don’t have internet connection provided by your local ISP.
