I prefer Bitcoin not merely for its value, acceptance, or trendiness, nor do I favor it simply for being Bitcoin. I am drawn to Bitcoin for the security, freedom, and privacy it offers. I also appreciate aspects such as elliptic curve cryptography, encryption, and Monero, though I understand you might not grasp all of this. Therefore, when I refer to Bitcoin, I am encompassing all of these elements.

Bitcoin represents a way of life, one that involves enduring ridicule and being labeled as a fool, fraud, or even a drug dealer. Living with Bitcoin is a long-term bet, spanning 5, 10 years, or even more. It means being a holder in the vast expanse of the world, earning respect through your commitment.

You must understand that your money is your own, and it matters to no one else—neither to your partner nor to the state. It is hard-earned and well-deserved. Why would you hand over money to the government that cost you so much and so little to them? Why divulge your personal information on Instagram only to be bombarded with advertisements moments later?

The world is harsh, and they always come after those who think differently. Never doubt that. Hence, it is crucial to encrypt and protect yourself, minimize your exposure on social media, and find solace in the privacy of the night.

I urge you, consider switching to Bitcoin.

Does using bitcoin make you anonymous?

Is Monero an element of bitcoin or a coin of its own?

Mate you have a misconception here and I don't seem to understand why you can't differentiate this forum goals and bitcoin itself, because you are compiling different ideas into your paragraphs.

Please consider restructuring your post because it seems vague to me.

To clarify for those new to cryptocurrencies:

Bitcoin will not make you anonymous, but it will make you the owner of your money and protect it from the risks of the traditional financial system.
    Monero is different from Bitcoin.
Cryptography and other measures mentioned are actions to improve your privacy and security on the internet. Think about it—many people don’t understand the risks of exposing their personal lives.

Yea, it's actually true that one of the key features of Bitcoin to me is it privacy, but that doesn't makes you as a person anonymous, if you really want to stay anonymous it's by reducing and limiting your social media activities and these has nothing to do with being a Bitcoin holder.
So in term of improving your privacy and security on the internet it's a personal job you will have to do for yourself, that's why knowledge on how most of these scammers works is very important, because you are definitely going to know what you should under no circumstances share or make public on the internet, so in essence of what am trying to say is that the privacy attached to Bitcoin is mainly about your financial transaction when using Bitcoin, not your personal life, that's your own responsibilities, by limiting and sharing less of your personal information online and offline.

While you may think that your attraction to bitcoin was a unique, maybe I should also tell you that you are not alone with the decision as though.
The principal quality attached to the attractive curves of bitcoin to most individual is that bitcoin on it own is a unique digital technology which as a currency is decentralized with Potential properties to hold values in for short or long term goals.
This is unlike any other inventory every developed so, we all accepted the adoption of bitcoin based on its unique prospects.

I urge you, consider switching to Bitcoin.
If you want to buy bitcoin for long term, do it not at the wrong time when the price is high already, do it at the right time when the price is very low. Although bitcoin will get to all-time high but it would be good to make more money if you speculate more accurately before investing.

Does using bitcoin make you anonymous?
What OP is talking about is that bitcoin gives you the privilege to have full control over your coins, unlike fiat. He is right about that. But someone needs to have high knowledge about bitcoin if the person wants to be anonymous or looking for privacy. To be anonymous does not mean everything about you will be anonymous. It is about what you want as anonymous to be anonymous.

Series of crypto users that have been attacked or robbed were tracked from social media. Some people live their lives on the social media that you can easily know where they live, how much they are worth and their next location.

Bitcoin will not make you anonymous, but it will make you the owner of your money and protect it from the risks of the traditional financial system.
Bitcoin transactions are pseudonymous but can be anonymous if the user uses tools like mixing and conjoined services.

I urge you, consider switching to Bitcoin.
Using Bitcoin as a currency will increase our privacy. But the pitfall is that Bitcoin is banned in some countries and decentralized exchanges are under attack from the government.

This is a Bitcoin forum and nobody dives a damn about why you prefer Bitcoin. Almost all forum members here prefer Bitcoin for one reason or another.
I've never seen Bitcoin users being called "drug dealers". Grin Nobody is forcing you to reveal that you own Bitcoins. You can keep this a secret from your social circle. Bragging about having BTC can have dangerous consequences.
I don't have such long-term mindset. 5-10 years seems a lot to me. I don't know that will happen to the Bitcoin/crypto world after 5 or 10 years.
My plan is to wait for the next big bull run(probably 2025) and sell most of my BTC. I don't have any plans afterwards.

If you want to be in control of your money, you need to learn about how to have privacy and learn about how to protect your money. What is necessary for the protection and security are simple but people are neglecting it.

People that are attacked and demanding fiat from are far more than crypto people that are attacked.

Bitcoin will not make you anonymous, but it will make you the owner of your money and protect it from the risks of the traditional financial system.
Bitcoin transactions are pseudonymous but can be anonymous if the user uses tools like mixing and conjoined services.
Also using Tor to connect to your noncustodial wallet. The person should know when to use coin control.

Yeah I don't think the OP mean to be an anonymous while hodling his Bitcoin instead he mean to acknowledge that the decentralization of Bitcoin is the content of it valuable uniqueness where you stores your Bitcoin in a wallet in the service of banking and you become in-charge and controls your transaction parameters all by yourself and your funds securities lies on yourself.

Perhaps when you are knowledgeable enough about the Bitcoin blockchain, you can of course stay anonymous such as when you processes your transactions using the non-custodial networks and stays away from networks requiring KYCs. Also, you possibilities of one keep it holding known to the public are all points to remain anonymous and self moderated of your assets.

Just a full of bullshit.

You must understand that your money is your own, and it matters to no one else—neither to your partner nor to the state. It is hard-earned and well-deserved. Why would you hand over money to the government that cost you so much and so little to them?
I don't believe there's no one in this world didn't use banks and fiat to pay bills in real life, almost all merchants and stores only accept fiat instead of Bitcoin.

Quote
Why divulge your personal information on Instagram only to be bombarded with advertisements moments later?
I also don't believe someone didn't have Instagram, Facebook, or X account, almost all people might have opened account in centralized exchange since it's the most friendly way to buy Bitcoin.

Someone can't ever achieve 100% privacy in digital world except you're a generation X or before than that where you know can live without cell phone and it exist when you already an adult.

You have good taste and no one will think of others, except that the security is more about you. Fine, Bitcoin has been structured well and also well secure to the point that no one can comprise it, but what about the handling by you? You are responsible for the major security to say the least.

We've had a series of Bitcoin thefts while the system itself has never been compromised, so as you enjoy privacy and freedom, you should also help Bictoin to completely secure your assets.

I urge you, consider switching to Bitcoin.

You are on a pure bitcoin forum, bitcoin is the most discussed coin here so advising people to choose bitcoin is unnecessary. If you can share these on other forums or on social media, I think it would be helpful because you are contributing to making bitcoin more popular.

One thing I see is that people always give a lot of reasons why they like and choose bitcoin but I believe most of them focus on profit more than anything else. I wonder if bitcoin becomes stable, no longer generates profit and is only used as a P2P currency. How many people will continue to claim to stick with it?

One thing I see is that people always give a lot of reasons why they like and choose bitcoin but I believe most of them focus on profit more than anything else. I wonder if bitcoin becomes stable, no longer generates profit and is only used as a P2P currency. How many people will continue to claim to stick with it?

Not many is the answer:

https://x.com/shopinbit/status/1811651225005195471
https://x.com/CoinCards/status/1809702144288882870

People may not care about privacy, but will choose whatever is more convenient, cheaper and faster - that's why PayPal/Mastercard/VISA are still the king.
And they didn't get popular because of HODL narration, people need efficient payment processor.
General public does not need another real estate market.

Bitcoin is very bad for transacting on regular basis, one of the narrations is that it will become a "settlement network" for bigger transactions only but for this privacy is very important and that's why I think Bitcoin will fail at it as well.

The only thing going on for Bitcoin is it's name, technically it's inferior to many other projects.
If you forget about the name and focus solely on tech, what would you rather use ? slower, more expensive coin_x or faster, cheaper coin_y ?
The answer is obvious and we can see it in the retail market.

There are people who will still defend it's usefulness but they are just closing their eyes to the competition and are more like a religious cult of "BITCOIN" than anything else.
This people will have hard time to "sell" their narrative to people who need a tool for their everyday life and not just future promises.

Regardless, for some Bitcoin may still be a good investment, just like Pokemon cards.

Do not advertise gambling, it's a cancer.

Quote
Bitcoin represents a way of life, one that involves enduring ridicule and being labeled as a fool, fraud, or even a drug dealer. Living with Bitcoin is a long-term bet, spanning 5, 10 years, or even more. It means being a holder in the vast expanse of the world, earning respect through your commitment.

I wasn't paying attention when reading the OP's post, but what you highlighted made me laugh. The OP seems to be making a religion out of Bitcoin, as some people do. But I would like to ask the OP, How will you be anonymous with Bitcoins if you somehow have to live in a world where Bitcoin is not officially allowed by some countries, but your call is to use only it? There was a thread recently where the author asked where and how people use their Bitcoins, but I still haven't seen widespread use. However, what the OP is calling for is an ascetic life without people, on a quiet night, and without any contacts. Did I understand you correctly, OP Smiley?

Reading this right now and the fact that, I’ve had to see this liking of Bitcoin to religion by several individuals it makes me to try and see its best fit between culture and religion. Mind you, these are two different things entirely as;

Culture talks about the way of life of a people through its social, religious, arts and material expressions of a people. In essence, culture encompass religion while,
Religion deals with the belief and worship of a higher being accepted as sovereign over all to put it shortly.

Now, if we try to fit Bitcoin in one of these, it’s best fit is culture as money is a cultural heritage of a people. What’s generally accepted by a group. Bitcoin is accepted within a group and so, users having to refer to Bitcoin as religion doesn’t actually fit in.

Bitcoin has proven itself over time, showing how safe and decentralized it is... There is no owner. The community and the market dictate the natural path. It was also where it all began, things that can only be created once, everything else is a copy.

Would you leave assets in altcoins? Like a Telegram coin? whose owner was recently arrested... Persecutions will always happen where governments cannot control... so this already shows how powerful and resilient Bitcoin is.... Thank you for disappearing Satoshi, your disappearance freed everyone financially.

Not really....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eafzIW52Rgc&t=1049s

Many people have ended in jail for using Bitcoin in illegal activities due to lack of privacy on protocol level.
Is it good that criminals go to jail ? sure/kinda*, but it also proves Bitcoin is not a tool to be free from tyrannical government.
*Government can put an "illegal" sticker on anything they want.

A transparent blockchain of transactions that can easily point to you is not a tool of freedom but a tool of oppression.

criptoevangelista - You're one of the cult mentality problems cryptocurrency space has that I have mentioned eariler:
There are people who will still defend it's usefulness but they are just closing their eyes to the competition and are more like a religious cult of "BITCOIN" than anything else.

Try forgetting the name of the project and open your eyes to the technology behind that name.
You will see more clearly  Wink Government is endorsing Bitcoin (Trump /etc) because it gives them power.
Bitcoin is a surveillance coin.

Do not advertise gambling, it's a cancer.

I find it amusing that no one really cares, yet users still engage with the post. Even you—if you truly don't care, why comment? Why tell us what you're going to do with your coins? No one asked you. Do you live in some exclusive part of the world? Are you a celestial being? Bitcoin does carry a bit of a bad reputation. Many uninformed people tend to associate BTC with drugs.

Just because someone is on this forum doesn’t necessarily mean they own bitcoins, although it’s quite common. There are cases where people use it solely for transactions. I want to convey that owning bitcoin means having a strong hand, being fully committed to bitcoin
