For years, I've wondered why so many obviously fake "trade offers" are allowed on the Currency exchange board. You must have seen it: offers in broken English, typically wanting to sell 100,000 Bitcoin for cash (several truckloads) inside a bank.

Today, I (once again) noticed Newbie Raknik77's many topics:

Yes they are fake. I also noticed that scammers that want to borrow money on lending board which is a scam. Both of these boards need stringent moderation. But I do not think anything would be done about it because it would be seen as newbie jail which theymos has already posted before that it will never return.

I am also as surprised as you are but most times why I don't think to raise alarm is that I don't pay attention to any of those post since I believe they are all scam. I think since the user isn't violating any rules is there any need to nuked him down rather I will suggest neutral tag would be ideal. That's to notify anyone who may have interest to be very extremely cautious while trading with him or her.

My other observation is that it seems the mod in that area isn't active to get those posts deleted immediately posted. So we need to do that by reporting any similar post or notice if he keeps posting same content.

The Currency Exchange board has some genuine users but the place is bogged with scammers attempting to fool an unsuspecting newbie. Although I have never used the services here but I have observed trades going on and also note the scam accusations that sometimes get posted on the forum.

In fact this section of the forum needs some vigilantism because scammers keep coming back with new accounts and some gullible newbie will fall for it.

Similar things are common in the Marketplace > Goods section, newbies posting offers and scamming others.

I think that people has already noticed that nothing good can come out from user =Raknik77 that's why they're reluctant to offer he/her neutral tag, and secondly people is conscious of scam and they are not willing to respond to unreasonable thread. From my observation  I think many scammers have noticed this community and its high time to moderators to look towards some irrelevant threads and lock them before beginners who is not aware of scam will be victims of scam...its good to lift a scam campaign so that people who have the intention of scam will adjust.

Okay, so you're clear that Raknik77 is a fucking scammer, you say it to his face, he doesn't convince you, and you have to come here and open a thread and say that you miss someone who wouldn't have thought about red tagging him instead of red tagging him yourself.

I didn't always agree with Lauda, and don't want to go light on red tags. In this case, I think a ban fits better, which is why I posted in Meta and not Reputation.

Agree with you, this is a loophole of rules definitely. Since they aren't getting banned, they post garbage constantly. Scams can't be moderated, but garbage would be banned from the forum. He is spamming as well on the forum. I think occasionally I need to visit the currency exchange section. Who knows, some stupid people would fall into scams. The currency exchange section should be moderated heavily to prevent garbage offers.

There are workarounds to avoid these people. Not trusting everyone we read in the internet and having to use an escrow for every deal might solve some of the cases.

It is way safer to use a proper exchange. But that has its own pros and cons.

I have just seen another of the scam/spam posts in the currency board.
Perhaps such accounts could be targeting newbies or guest users too given the way Raknik77 has been persistent with the scam topics even after getting tagged. So I decided to also create a flag against the account

I noticed that spammer also.  I just figured he's some idiot with a Telegram channel trying to play middle man, not realizing that most of his supposed "clients" are trying to scam him.  But since he has noting that can be scammed he still hasn't realized it.

Maybe it's something more sinister, but if so, it's among the stupidest scam attempts I've witnessed.

Anyway, I just hope Nutildah doesn't see this topic.  I don't want him to disappear again.
