It is known that many presidential debates have achieved little in terms of changing things, but I think that the last one Biden-Trump was an exception since it got Biden replaced. What is going to happen on this one? Is Trump going to be able to use his slogan style of rhetoric or will  Kamala be able to make a few points across the barrage of confusion?

Biden withdrew from the race in July, and Kamala Harris was selected to replace him, while Trump became the official Republican nominee that same month. The second debate, which will be sponsored by ABC, is scheduled to be held on September 10, 2024.

1. Kill a bunch of people around the world, and destroy America while doing it;

Trump must leave Kamala alone and address issues whether or not she does. If he attacks Kamala, certainly a target, American women will vote against him.

Trump should stress the open border problem with immigrant-invader gangs now seizing apartment houses and homes in blue jurisdictions, and with hotels, motels, school gyms, and bus and airport terminals full of immigrant-invaders who have no where to go except to the existing housing stock where illegal occupancy in blue jurisdictions is merely a "landlord-tenant issue." You go pick up your kid from school and on your return your home is occupied by armed immigrant-invaders. The police tell you that it is not a police matter. Trump should have the news reports at hand.

Trump should stress that pushing against Russia and China invites nuclear war that threatens the entire world and has to stop. The power of nuclear weapons leaves no room for cultivating hostility between countries.

Trump should say that Israel has hurt its reputation by its unrestrained assault on Gaza and the West bank and is making it difficult for America to continue its unconditional support of its ally. Israel needs to understand that there are limits on what Washington can support.

Trump should emphasize that in America law is a shield of the people, but that the Democrats have turned it into a weapon in the hands of the state, a weapon unjustly used against the many who are in prison for attending a Trump rally. He should stress that a rule of law cannot be partisan.

Trump should say that the US economy needs more balance than it has between Wall Street's and billionaire's gains and the incomes of the rest of the people.

Trump should ignore, not respond to, the "moderator" and questioners and speak directly to Americans without acknowledging hostile questioners. When it is his turn to speak, he should say what needs to be said and ignore loaded questions designed to paint a target on him.

I'd love to see Kammy say something like "Everything he just said is a lie" (if it is), and just wave her hand and don't even respond to his accusations but talk about policies.  Just doing this will anger the dump so much he will focus on it.   Then she can just respond with "what a weird response".   A one-two knockout punch he cannot defend against.   

All is fair in this political debate but using his known weakness against him is a gentle way to move forward without playing his games.

Not sure it will change much.

I believe that the microphones will be alternately be switched on and off as each
answers questions which leaves a kind of sterile "debate". There wont be any
over and back heated discussion that we will hear.

The democrats didnt want this scenario because Harris is a very efficient debater
and they believed they could damage Trump, they might still get him to lose control
and say something which even his followers find shocking.

Donald Trump had a free day debating with Joe Biden. If was putting an amateur boxer inside the ring with a world champion. Trump gave sleepy Joe the beating of his life and made him withdraw.

But the debate with Kamala Harris will be different. Harris might not be a good public speaker like Trump but she will be able to stand his bullying and attacks. She might be able to use Trump's records of lies and crime to get at him. This might make him confrontational, making him lose some ground.

However, Trump's wealth of experience will work to his advantage. He has contested elections three times and has been debating all this while. He has a better understanding of international politics.

Debates are viewed by many Americans and it has the ability to change voter's decision like we saw after Biden's poor performance. The election is in November, it's still far to predict the outcome.

Trump is a balling old folk who knows about trends and taking over the wheels.
He is more politically experienced than Kamala and he had toured the streets while finding errors within the societies and knows how to tease and convince the audience that he can offer solutions to them.

I think it is just going to be of political parties differences perhaps debates might really not matter at this time because Trump has built a solid edge during he was competing with Biden.

However, Kamala may also stand up with her own quality views but Trump would always be the one taking the stage

In fact, US politics and presidential elections are very much like a war of words and professional political leaders are seen to deviate a lot from their principles and ideals. They spend so much time with world politics that they ignore the people of their own country. Regardless of immigration policy they don't care about their low income people and continue to wage war on country to country and wait for the sale of military equipment.

She's going to use whatever she's got and that's not a lot, but expect the good old, you're a convict, you incited riots, you're a sore loser, you're old and mistreat women, I'm a woman fighting for women rights and I'm black on top of it! You white privileged rich man trying to attack a girl from the hood...

I'm going to watch that comedy for sure. Hope Trump pulls a few aces from his sleeve and shuts her down. They should focus on trying to expose her as inexperienced, not knowing a thing about foreign politics and basic geography.

Kam is one of the few candidate that can actually laugh at an insult when it is laughable and ridicule. I guess that is the perfect approach to Trump: he is simply not to be taken seriously. And that has probably been the mistake all along: taking Trump as something other than a living joke.

I can compare him with the tabloids and pink press... you can read it, you can laugh at it, you can even get annoyed by it... but nobody in their senses takes it seriously.

Taking into account the zero results delivered by Trump - who actually was president for 4 years - he is likely to step into a bobby-trap on his own volition. Not to mention the fact that blaming anything on migration does not make much sense in a country where nearly nothing is given for free.

Republicans are blaming the moderators. That's all you need to know about how the debate went for Trump.

Trump is obviously completely senile at this point, and he can't hold a coherent thought for more than a few seconds. I wish that debate lasted another three hours: Trump would have fallen down and cried by then.

If Harris is smart, she will demand to do at least three more debates with Trump and make it a campaign talking point when he (obviously) refuses*. She should call him a weak chicken, and repeat that as much as possible, because Trump, being the moron he is, will spend the rest of his campaign fixating on that instead of any other issue.

(*Or maybe he overrides his handlers and doesn't refuse because he's so intensely stupid, who knows).
