I think prior to us joining the crypto sphere, we might not want to care our privacy, but now it's totally different, maybe some of are not that active in social media because we are afraid that there will be footprints that this cyber criminal can follow, hence, we might fell for this kind of trick.

But if we did then the only weapon on our side is to educate ourselves with this kind of attacks and not to trust anyone online. And as the advancement of AI, we should really be careful as they can copy and mimic even our love ones and they can used it against us.
I personally don't do that where even though I wasn't in bitcoin I was previously quite protective of my privacy because I don't really like to be disturbed or intervened by others so maintaining privacy so that it runs properly is important. It's just that maybe because before it was not too problematic like when in bitcoin, privacy was only kept naturally different from now where when connected email or several other things such as PCs or gadgets that we have are more guarded so as not to be compromised.

But that does not mean that before privacy was also not maintained, it was just that the guard was not as tight as it is now, especially since there are some things that are very important for now that must be more secured so that unwanted things do not happen such as being missed in email or computer hacking which ultimately harms yourself.

Lets say that before Bitcoin was created or simply with crypto then going back into the days where internet isnt really just that too that on trend. Somewhere on early 2000's then hacking and scamming is already that rampant on which when it comes on protecting out private things online will really be something that should really be that in default, considering that there would really be those potential leaks that could really be
used against you on which it might be ending up with those kind of potential asking of money or other correlated to it. This is why minding about security should really be that in default. If we do really try out to make out some comparison into those years and up to this moment then we could really be able to say that getting information could really be that fast specially now that social media is really that on the trend on which it will really be that too easy on making fake information using up others image or whatever information they've got. We do know that because of these platforms then it will really be that much more easy for them.
Spreading out information or seeing some hints that you might be that getting involved with crypto could also potentially be that be seen. More and more malwares and other infecting viruses to PC's and phones could
really be that also giving out thatp potential risks. This is why we should really be that careful and be sensible into our actions specially on dealing up online. Be wary and wise on how to protect yourself.

Yes, scammers are after stealing people's money and private informations.
That’s why we have to be careful with the places we submit our identity, some sites do require KYC before you can make use of them. We are not supposed to submit our identity online anyhow because some websites are controlled by scammers, and they will steal people’s identity, and some websites are not owned by scammers, but some do get hacked by scammers, and people’s identities will be stolen. So I will say don’t submit your identity when it’s not really necessary, if you have any means to avoid submitting your identity, then just do it.

Speaking of KYC, the disadvantage of that action can be very detrimental to the privacy of any individual. You could trust a platform, like some of the casinos we are using and some of the centralized exchange, while some workers (staffs) in those platforms are thieves who will steal your (customers) KYC information for their personal use or sell it out to real scammers. You never can tell what's happening anytime you give out your information.

Yes, scammers are after stealing people's money and private informations.

Scammers are everywhere, looking for ways to gain access to people's private information. They are using different tactics to steal people's information, and this is one of the reasons we need to be careful with how we save our private information on the internet, download apps, or even click on the links they send us. If we don't want to fall into scammers' traps, we need to avoid saving private information online. Always try to download apps from reputable sources and fully avoid clicking links from unknown sources. This will really help prevent some of the ways scammers try to steal information

So, everyone is almost a target to scammers as long as the person has what the scammer wants.

Honestly, people need to be extra careful because scammers are coming up with new tactics all the time to scam people. Some of the tactics they use may be very cheap, to the point that one might not even suspect them. So, it's better if someone sees anything unfamiliar or doesn't understand it, they should fully avoid it. It's not even funny that sometimes, someone will receive an email that looks like it comes from your exchange's customer care, and once they click on the links, it gives scammers more chances to scam them.

Scammers usually use money to attract people. This is common weakness of greedy individuals, that's why even if we see those attempt made is repetitive there are still people fall its because greedy heads still exist.

They take advantage on the ignorance of people that's why they succeed. This show that lacking of proper finance management is lacking that's why lots of people still got fooled on to good to be true promised of good returns if they entertain those crazy offers. If people will just have this mindset where they immediately ignore or deny those unknown things to them especially if there's a promised of getting passive income or any thing huge that they can't imagine for sure this scamming will lessen until it dissolve. But its like this is impossible to happen so the only thing we could able to do is to warn those innocent people towards scam like this.
Scammers only scam people who would scam them mindset. Meaning, if you scam someone who almost scammed you, you are not really worried about who you are scamming and feel better.

Assume that I own a construction business, and normally X item there like concrete or iron or whatever else, just think of X item for example, is 1000 dollars per kilo, and you need it urgently for a loan that bank is coming to get to you, and you are willing to sell it all for 350 a kilo, just so you can pay the debt and bank doesn't seize it.

Bank doesn't exist, the loan doesn't exist, you are just lying, people who are decent will help you without taking anything if they have the money, but in general what you SHOULD be doing is just not buy it from them, because while you think you are "helping" in reality you are taking advantage of someone who is in bad situation, taking something for one third of a price just because they need it. So you are scamming someone in need, and in return the scammer just doesn't give the X item and steals from you.

It's a great example showing that you should always stay vigilant be ready for situations like that, and have a backup plan. Responsibility is what some people need in bigger quantities, as well as remembering, that, in different spheres, there are always people lurking for your funds, and in crypto - it's just an abnormal amount.

We may not hear it every day, but we often come across stories like this. It’s not new, so the question is: why can’t we seem to stop these scams? Do we really lack the ability to block these attempts, even when we know we could get robbed? We might not realize it, but many people have already fallen victim before law enforcement catches on to the latest tricks of scammers.

It’s unfortunate, but hopefully, the government will step up with aggressive awareness campaigns and information sharing. We can’t deny that a lot of people still lack knowledge about these issues, thinking they’re genuine when, in fact, they’re just scams.

It's what you get if you don't let people hand out promo codes to make an extra buck.

I get myself a woke beer.

Thinking. Would you imagine it sticks with the ruleset at that particular environment the maker is in?

Throw some "shit" and see what sticks.

The government has already done its part, but we can't just rely on them for everything. We need to do our own research to protect ourselves from scams. Scams are very common, and those who fall victim are often unaware of the types of scams and how technology is being used to deceive people. If we know how to use the internet, a quick search on Google can reveal stories and information to help us avoid these traps. Authorities can provide warnings, but they can’t spoon-feed us all the important details, we need to put in our own effort too. And since older people aren’t as tech-savvy, as the younger generation, we can start by educating our families about these risks.

It’s unfortunate, but hopefully, the government will step up with aggressive awareness campaigns and information sharing. We can’t deny that a lot of people still lack knowledge about these issues, thinking they’re genuine when, in fact, they’re just scams.

Completely agree. Many scammers try to scam with new ways that laymen even don't know. And the reason is lack of knowledge. My honest suggestion is to educate ourselves and the community about such incidents.

Along with email scammers also try to spread trojans or malware with spam emails with hyperlinks, which can lead to the hacking of a user's device, which can lead to major trouble.

Scams are constantly evolving, and doing our own research can go a long way in preventing fraud. Helping our families and those less tech-savvy understand these threats is key, especially in today’s digital world.

Scams are constantly evolving, and doing our own research can go a long way in preventing fraud. Helping our families and those less tech-savvy understand these threats is key, especially in today’s digital world.

It's sometimes or most of the time not about having knowledge about certain scamming patterns but it's about having general knowledge about what can be a scam and what a scam attempt looks like. As you said, scammers keep evolving, they always find new ways of scamming naive people who have no idea about tech or other stuff but are compelled to use digital applications for managing their finances and stuff.

Most people these days have financial applications such as bank apps, wallets, or any other apps where their funds are kept. Some of these people don't even know how to use these apps but they have them because of convenience, they ask others to help them get through things such as sending payments, paying bills, etc.

Such people and their devices are easy targets for scammers. So if there is education about scams and scammers, people should be taught not to trust anyone with anything online or offline because they can be tricked with tactics not easily detectable of leading to scams.

Because most of these scams originate from third-world countries, rendering them almost impossible to track down. Even if the police do, they would need to cooperate with the law enforcement of the other country to catch them, and they don't always take action. I'm guessing you've seen the known call centers from India; even though there really has been a crackdown in operation, thanks to some Youtubers such as Pleasant Green, it's impossible to shut them down altogether.

Unfortunately, no matter how much the media points out to never trust someone who's threatening for money, there are still some people who will fall for it. These scammers are completely remorseless; they'll scam anyone regardless of age or financial situation and are usually covering sensitive topics, from fake IRS claims to sextortion (a known scam claiming they have video evidence of you in private moments) and many others.

The scam attempt seems so simple, yet there are still people who fall for it. It’s a threat, though we don’t always know what kind, but for those who aren’t familiar with the technology, seeing an email where the scammer knows their address and even has a picture could really scare them, not realizing it just came from Google Maps. That’s why people need to be more educated about these kinds of scams and the technology behind them to help minimize cases like this.
Well, I am not surprised actually; that people still and will fall for scams like this, specially if it's in a country where insecurity is a major issue. It is scary enough even for your neighbors to know everything about you, like all your personal details, now, it's hell when a faceless person from no where comes around on your mail box to tell you all about yourself, as well as your address and even show pictures of your home, and even go ahead to include threats, such threats may be that, they are kidnappers, or bombers, and that you should pay them a certain amount of money, failure to do so, they will come around and bomb your home - such threat can be scary to be honest.

It's a really good thing that the police have stepped in to stepped in to help supposed victims of such threat.
It is understandable that as technology is growing and people and people are getting more educated, it's become harder for scammers to make a living, now they have to resort to all available means to try to scam people.

Scams like this has been on the internet forever and you hear multiple warnings about it. Yet there are people who still falls for these kinds of scam which is very sad to see. People do get startled when they see someone sending the picture of their house  and location and threatening them, but they should realize it is some old photos taken from somewhere. I mean how often are the street view pictures updated? Like once in a few years? Its one thing when a senior citizen falls for the scam, but I have seen young people equally falling prey to those so called scammers.

Not to make out some discrimination into those poor countries or developing ones but this is really that actually a fact or something which is really that part of reality. These scammers will really be trying out their best
on making offers or whatever that it will really be that might you do able to get hooked up. Even there are some people whom i do known that despite of being that knowledgeable but there were moments or times that they do still get that victimized, even myself is also like this on which there are things which you do able to forget it out no matter how basic it would be.It will really be that so common that there would really be those individuals who would really be able to forget out on what they are really that dealing into. We do know that scams and frauds are something which are really that common.

There would really be different ways or methods on which its something that could really be possibly be used on which it will really be causing up for you to believe on whatever things that they might be able to show on.
Doesnt matter whether if its online or something which is really physical when it comes into that potential scam attempt then there would really be those chances that it will really be that might be ending up
with this kind of method. People are not all knowing on which there would be those individuals will having this kind of actions been made on.

This is one of the reasons that i don't use my mail anymore, the amount of scams and spam is out of control. And the attackers don't only see the reply, they can see if you opened the Email or even if you clicked on any link there. So, the best thing to do is to not even open those emails, because ones you open them you become a target of the attackers.

The fact that they send you a picture of your house is only a social engineering strategy, and we can find a lot of those methods nowadays.

Old timers will not fall on this, but unfortunately there are new people will came out to the scene that might fall from this classic scam schemes.
I was thinking that at this point schools should start introducing like an "online safety course" or something like that. I know that in this case (and many other current ones) we're talking about older people but I don't think this type of scams will end anytime soon. And it's not only the money people lose but also all the effort that the authorities spend to catch this people, which means taxpayers' money that can potentially be saved.
