Many times that a famous personalities got hack and promote same giveaways like this and its like those hackers doing it to target those innocent people. With this cases the government should immediately release a statement towards the hacking incident they experience and warn their citizens regarding on the giveaways or any shilling activities happened or been promoted by their account.

They should punish the one who handle their youtube channel since due to their neglect and curiosity to check unknown links and offer there are lot of people might possibly get scam especially if they are not checking news and just caught up then feel interested on what they are seeing.

These victims are going to be made up of a large number of people who are new to crypto and whose motive is to make very quick money. I remember the time where one of the famous YouTube channels here in our country got hacked and when I saw the channel, it's currently on live and I saw a conversation where the guest is Elon Musk and on the description, it says there (non-verbatim) "Deposit X amount of ETH or BTC to this address and in a few minutes, it will double your money." On live chat, I saw some random viewers telling that it really doubled as soon as they deposited their assets, and we know that it's them as well, and they might used some services out there to tell to the live chat that it works. They're doing it to attract investors.

This kind of incident isn't new anymore, but the thing is that, no social media platform is safe, and even the channels of famous influencers on various social media platforms can still get hacked and be used to scam newbies. Always be vigilant, always be updated, and don't fall to these "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" cheap tricks.

The rate at which social media accounts of reputable personalities, celebrities and influencers get hacked these days is alarming. Last month it was France player and now India Supreme Court account hacked and used to promote fake project. I think its high time account holders do a thorough security check on their account and if possible, activating  a 2FA function on their account would be much okay to do because no one knows whose account would likely be the next as the targets are always accounts with large followership on any social media network.

These social media outlets should endeavor to improve their security functions and settings as to make account more safe and secured from external attempt from hackers aside the owners. By so doing, the rate at which social media hacks would stop.

India is one country that is known for its fire power when it comes to cyber security, because they have a lot of programmers and expert in web and cyber security, so it's really unfortunate to hear this kind of news emanating from that country. although hackers and scammers go to any length in perpetuating whatever they want, you can imagine where a supreme court of a country's YouTube channel being hacked, supreme court is the highest court of any country, documents and videos that comes out of their YouTube channel is most regarded as sacred or the law, yet hackers where able to penetrate it and set up a scam platform.

Only novices will not be interested to invest in bitcoin and other coins. If you want to buy a land, even common devices like phone and laptop, if you do not follow the right way, you can be scammed. That is the reason it is good to know about this scam and avoid them.

But it will truly be good if the social media tell their users to use 2FA but most X accounts that were hacked have sim authentication enabled. Sim authentication is not secure. I prefer app authentication like Aagis. Also the use of hardware authentication is secure.

What you have reported is correct and I remember such hacking incidents were quite common 5 years back. A lot of good YouTube channels got destroyed due to such hacks. Eventually, YouTube has now come up with 2-factor authentication which most big content creators have now enabled. I am not sure why the Supreme Court of India channel admin did not activate two-factor authentication. Since it is a government-owned channel mistakes can happen.

Update:

The hacked channel was recovered just after few hours of this incident and now it claims to be in complete control of the original owner. I added the official statement from the Supreme court of India regarding their current situation.



And you can see the date and time on the sign which is on the same day itself so I hope not much damage done due to this incident but the sad thing is the recovered youtube account lost it's entire followers count despite restoring all the deleted videos which is a sign that those users are aware that this account is hacked and time to unsub.

I believe most of these hacks going on always have an insider. How come a sim swap was successful without the notice of the agency if nobody internally is somehow involved in this or would they say that they do not have the power to investigate and unmask the people behind such crime? They are always active to investigate and get information on everything but how come they never said anything about the sim swap that led to the wrong information disseminated to the world on crypto.

These days, it is not even advisable to depend on one source for information. One would have to be very sure of information they receive by doing verification from other source to confirm how reliable that information they got is real.  Even after you have done that and just as you have said about being in a haste to absorb such information, one would need to take their time to see turn of events as it relates to the update relating to the information if it would be in tandem or they would need to discard it so as to be on the safe side if it happens that such information could be harmful to them.

Maybe they did that for some certain reasons best known to them and they deleted everything they had in mind to do and they already have their plans and intentions to cover it up saying it was a hack. They were actually fast in this as it has to do with the Indian government and You tube did the needful to help take down the channel  very fast in other to forestall any future or unforeseen events as it relates to the channel hack. However, such scenario could have caused a very big damage if the people of India had no prior knowledge of the account and the originality of its content. Now that is has been deactivated, the Indian government can do their work to see what really happened.
