Hamster Kombat, a popular game on Telegram, recently faced controversy over its airdrop, a process where free cryptocurrency tokens are distributed to users. This week, the airdrop was criticized for alleged unfair distribution. The developers aimed to reward honest players by disqualifying 2.3 million users for cheating, stating, "Cheating is bad" in a message sent to these users in September.

Despite the efforts to ensure fair play, both banned and eligible players are now accusing the Hamster Foundation, the creators of Hamster Kombat, of unfairly denying them their earned tokens. Only 43% of the game's 300 million players, approximately 131 million people, received the HMSTR airdrop. The Hamster game received wide public adoption and for sure there will be many of the airdrops participants that will try to cheat the system, such as enroling alt accounts and also double tapping from two devices and referring themselves to warn more tokens, this is what is expected in any such bounties and the team are aware of this so they must  put mechanism in place to detect and banned those found wanting.

But I the issue of their token distributions, the project did what most team would n the class will do, that is putting themselves first by accumulating alot of money to themselves and giving peanuts to their airdrops patticipants against the agreed and promised amount.

Expecting more than this was the real trouble, I think they paid more than enough and it is not really that shocking to see this result at all.

I believe that people just fooled themselves by expecting more than this, but the reality is that this is what we could have done and nothing more, we need to end up realizing that this is going to eb something that will not be all that complicated to see that this was a "success" even, just because you expected more doesn't mean that they failed, they distributed tens of millions of dollars to people, and that should be a success story, not a failure. People just have weird expectations when they are hyped, they shouldn't really be considering this as their solution to anything.

I don’t understand what the fuck controversy revolving on this issue while every just play free game and earn airdrop. There’s financial investment involved so why participants expect significant gain on this shit token.

The cheating is inevitable on this type of giveaway since it’s very common for user to do multiple account just earn big given that it only requires telegram account to create an account.

This is a big issue if the token is backed token sales in the public.

Personally I don't see any controversy here. it's pretty normal that this is a game, and all efforts are towards... a game!
People that want become millionaire just tapping some applications must learn a bit more about economy.

This is expected on a platform with an unexpected burst of participants, Many of the participants are new to Cryptocurrency so they do not know how these things work, they felt that they were taken for a ride.

At first, I was blaming the team but I realized they didn't ban accounts based on IP addresses that are coming from one location otherwise people with multiple accounts would have been flagged. By defaults Telegram app can take 3 accounts and premium can add even more and imagine people that will create multiple accounts and earn HMSTR in all their accounts, I don't blame the team but the players that outplayed each other because that 131m players are not really the number of players per person.

The numbers are much though, I mean the market cap was just 700m and how do you share that among the players, more than 131m players is a huge number and there is some that goes into accounts of exchange as liquidity. There is no better aidrop like the one with less number of people, the lesser the number of participant, the better opportunity everyone has to earn from the aidrop and vice versa if the players are much. Remember dogs gave more than what Hamster Kombat gave it's players.

With the level of publication the hamster Kombat project got I am suspecting that even the developers got some fever seeing the total number of participants far above what they had budgeted for initially and they just had to finds means to drop the figure to a considerable number, but that doesn't mean that some persons may not have really cheated. Yet, they couldn't give some fair distribution of their airdrop as there lots of shortcomings about what participants received from what they expected based on the number of PPH they had tapped overtime.

It's about the disappointment of its community with how they've rewarded them with their efforts. We see that people are going this far when they don't like the distribution but they should have known firsthand that it is an airdrop and the developers always has the final say on it. If they don't want to get into another "controversy" all they have to do is to stop participating these tap-projects and any airdrop that might disappoint them once again.

That's right, but there's no public sale that had happened on this project. People want to get fed with more food when they've already given a part of it. To be honest, it's funny to see that this is happening on the airdrops scene and soon there could be more.

always the problem with project that have too much participant, false positive will be happening frequently in their effort to minimize cheaters, so some people will undoubtedly complain of this unjust treatment.
however what baffle me is despite massive banning of the cheater the reward is still only worth a dime, goes to show that airdrop like this are generally waste of time, the one that actually gives reward are very rare.

I still remember the time where people are cheering this game for reaching milestone of hundred millions of users, if they played the game they shouldn't be cheering at all because although the participant reached milestone the allocation is still the same this means, same allocation pooled to hundred millions of people which equal pennies for whole year finishing tasks . moreover I think few crypto influencers already called out the shady behaviour of hamster kombat's dev and how they are milking the people so hard. warning is already there from day 1.

I personally went to read their whitepapers and check their roadmap and tokenomics and considering that this is the highest level of airdrop according to the number of participants, I will say it is not totally unfair for they paid too many persons and as for those criticizing the airdrop, it is not their fault either and they are not totally wrong because people expected more from the Hamster Kombat Airdrop.

All their videos have millions of views; they must have been thousands of dollars from these videos, and yet they can only give dust to each member, There's a possibility that trust will erode on Telgram airdrops because of this; because of this, they become a hot topic on abuse and outrageous distribution, if all the other airdrops are like this, then this is the end of these airdrops. it is more like a PTC or paid to click where you only get a few pennies.
