Binance founder Zhao Changpeng was released from prison after serving 116 days and posted his first post on Twitter. It seems that he is going to take power again.

Hey you should have include the content of his post on X here or share a link to the news to make a proper reference for some members that will want to take a second look at what you posted here.

Although I have hints on CZ release from prison and some bitcoin/cryptocurrency analists have speculated that the entire market is going to see a positive reaction to this, but personally I don't think CZ release will have that impact on the market, although at the moment the market is all positive and this have resulted into alot of speculations.

You can add this link to your opening post, just edit your post and save it.

Btw, what do you mean by "taking power again"? Are you suggesting he's going to take the role of CEO at Binance again? I think that would be counterproductive and bad for Binance itself. CZ distancing from Binance is good IMO, maybe he can take some managerial roles but shouldn't become the face of the company again. Who knows, maybe another government will try to jail him again and it will cause terrible effects for Binance's longevity. CMIIW.

He served his time, we are not sure maybe he could have been there longer but yea, he's a rich money and he was served well despite him being in a jail. And your stance about him coming back to power is fairly wrong. He will not be going to become a CEO at Binance again, he pledged to be spending his time and money as a Philanthropist. And it's funny that he started his X journey back with a "gm" tweet. Tongue

He isn't going to "take power" again. He was barred from serving as a Binance executive as part of his plea deal.

If I recall he said he's stepping down and going to focus on start ups and serve as a form of an early investor.
He cares about the exchange much to prevent any thing that would associate is misdeeds to it.
Besides he stills holds a major share there
So if Binance does well
He would also.

He might not be able to return back to power and serve as Binance executive but his return from can still help to shape the company indirectly.

He doesn’t have to be the CEO in other for him to have an impact on the company - he has been known by the world already so it won’t be that hard for him to do.

As part of the settlement for his criminal charges, he will never return as the CEO of Binance and will have to stay away from the firm's daily operations. But he would still have a lot of influence since he is the company's major shareholder.

Before his imprisonment he set up a philanthropic project called Giggle Academy, which is focused on providing quality education to underprivileged children. Maybe he might want to focus on humanitarian works.

He could also set up another crypto business since he knows how to make money from this sector. Registering his new firm in Dubai, Hong Kong, or other freir nations will be better than risking another jail term and fine in the US.

CZ is done from ruling binance and also he may likely not have much influence to push the market to any noticeable position as this will be very hard at the moment since the entire cryptocurrency market space is on a bullish direction and price are on the rise constantly this have been quite noticeable in the past few days.

So saying that his release from prison will have so much to do, both in short term and long term won't really mean so much, although since you already mentioned that the impact could be a short term impact, this can serve a bit.

Binance founder CZ has been freed from US prison  on the 27 of September
He served four months in federal prison for charges including alleged violations of United States Anti-Money Laundering rules.
CZ stepped down as the CEO of Binance on Nov. 21, 2023. This decision was part of a settlement with the U.S. government following his guilty plea to breaking U.S. Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws.
Zhao acknowledged the responsibility for historical criminal compliance violations at Binance and said that stepping down was the right thing to do for the Binance community and himself. The new CEO of Binance, following Changpeng Zhao's step down has been Richard Teng who is a long-time Binance executive, who took over CZ's role after his departure in November 2023.

I know that cz has a lot of supporters that will make a lot out of his release from prison, but in my honest opinion, it is not really a big deal, he has served his time and it is up to him to decide the direction he wants to take from now moving forward. When you say he will take 'power' again, you have to be clear with what you mean, i personally do not think he will be actively involved in the crypto industry, and i guess it is for the better.

Look, I'm not really a CZ fan or anything, but I think the best thing we can all do is just take a step back and give the dude a fair shot, you know? At the end of the day, everybody makes mistakes - the important thing is that he's paid his price for it.

Now the key is whether he's actually learned from those screwups and is gonna focus on helping the industry grow in a healthy way, rather than just looking out for himself. If he can show that he's truly committed to doing what's right for the whole ecosystem, instead of just chasing personal gain, then I say we should be open to seeing what he can do.

I don't think so. About Binance? He might not have a publicly disclosed position in the company anymore because that would probably not be the best for the company since he has been to prison and has been blamed for mishandling the funds of his customers or the company he was running, however, he will surely be around in the industry, might work on more startups or making investments, might even become an advisor somewhere in the industry. He won't be short of opportunities, but his time at Binance is over, I believe.

If it's done honestly, there is nothing wrong with having personal goals or focusing on personal gains. Every person who starts a business or a project will most probably think of personal gains before doing it. There is always hope attached to it that you will earn money, have financial freedom, and may have generational wealth if you manage to run the business and grow it to become very big. Even in the cryptocurrency industry, if someone is honest with their work, they can have personal goals as well despite them doing things that might help the industry as a whole.

He isn't going to "take power" again. He was barred from serving as a Binance executive as part of his plea deal.

Yes. The terms say he would never be CEO of Binance again anytime in the future but will remain part of their board /executives given the fact that he's the founder. He might not be the CEO anymore but I think he will have huge says on the decision making processes now that he is back.

He did say he would still in crypto just not as the CEO of Binance. I think he would become more of an angel investor since he said in one of his posts before going to prison that he would be more actively investing in projects in the space.

Well that was a short sentence.
I am not sure what op means by "power", but CZ is smart and he definitely understands that he is under a microscope now. So what ever he ends up doing, he is covering his back from any consequences like this in the future. So i would imagine that he wants to either focus on tech development (which would be fun to see), or that he is moving to funding some projects, like vitalik has done. Because like vitalik, he has enough money already.

If he wants to invest, he most likely do it via some foundation, so that foundation would cover their funding that way. But in overall, i find it positive sign that CZ didn't get more jail time.

Binance founder Zhao Changpeng was released from prison after serving 116 days and posted his first post on Twitter. It seems that he is going to take power again.
I've seen this before here  : Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao to be released from US custody on Sept. 29

And the time has finally come for him to enjoy his freedom. However, when it comes to running Binance, that's no longer possible. But you're right—he could still wield power or control over the company, even if not officially, since he's banned from holding any position. Owning the majority of the shares gives him significant influence. It seems, though, that his release isn’t making headlines, as it hasn't had any impact on the market. Still, it’s good news for Binance overall.

We all know that CZ arranged with DOJ with $4B for his case and the sentence is 4 months in prison. We all knew when he will be released from prison so this news is not something surprising at all.

Quote

I doubt about power he has. Around his arrest, before or after, maybe after the arrest, CZ tweeted that he believed it's time for him to step down as Binance CEO, and he said he will never run another start up business, but it's good time for him to do his learning on Decentralized exchange. He started a project for education on children.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao sentenced to 4 months in prison.

As part of his plead deal, CZ agreed to step down as CEO and it appears that he is not interested in retaking that position. He is still going to be closely monitored to ensure he is being compliant so it will be in Binance’s interest if he maintains reasonable distance. As majority shareholder, I’m sure he still wants to see the exchange thrive but he is probably not going to try and dictate what decisions they should make.
