Scalpers will depend more on indicators than news. Scalping is just a waste of time in my opinion. The riskiest trading types are scalping and day trading. Most traders that fall in this categories are losing while swing traders and holders are very patient and make more money from trading. They are also not time consuming like scalping and day trading. If you are using fundamental analysis to trade just as you explained and not trading often, you are not really scalping in my opinion because you do not trade frequently.

It is when you need to stay outside the market, to be safe and keep your fund safely.

Don't try to predict the market around a FED meeting and trade with it. You can wait for the news release and see how the market reacts to FED meeting after it completed. Bitcoin can soar or fall after a FED meeting but after that, it will calm down and that's proper time for you to start trading.

That means, I advice you to trade only when the market already decides its next movement, and I warn you to avoid trading when the market is indecisive its next movements.

3. War in big countries.
4. Big countries or institutions buy or moved their coins.

I think these things I mentioned above do affect Bitcoin price based on my own observation, even though it sounds ridiculous, but weak hands do taking serious with these news.

You’re talking about fundamental part of trading which always have effect on the price of bitcoin. I don’t know that scalpers also take advantage of the news, although it’s just for the short time, so a good scalper trader can make some good profits in just a short time. One thing with fundamentals is that, they don’t really align with the fundamentals of the news. Before a fundamental news, you still have to respect your technical analysis and when the news is out and it aligned with your technical analysis, you’ll be in some good profits in a short time. In fundamental news, traders don’t use TP because they don’t know how far the pump will react to the news and same time only use the amount they can afford to lose at SL or don’t even use at all if the money in the account is okay for what they can afford to lose.

Actually, Most of the significant movement on Bitcoin price is derived from big news even not directly related to Bitcoin in the past but right now news barely moved the price out of the price range of Bitcoin since Bitcoin traders already used on the news right now.

But if we are just talking about opportunities here about potential trading on news then there’s a lot of opportunity in future since there’s always a headline news which news outlet can use to influence the price movement of Bitcoin.

Powell gives news about inflation and CPI data most often ones in a month, so I'm not sure if that will be enough for you to be scalping and be making money from trading as you think. Put in some other metrics apart from Powell speech, like when Microstrategy but more Bitcoin to their wallet, this news usually boost the price of Bitcoin, follow the trend on Elon and his crypto events, people are now bullish on his campaign and any activity he do about Bitcoin moves the price.

You may also bank of things like important event like some days ago, people expected CZ to be free from prison and immediately the news broke, BNB and Bitcoin fly to $65k, buying Bitcoin some days before such news broke can help you make profit, you can also put US election on watch, it's a big day everyone is waiting to see Trump becomes the president of that country, if things go as they wish which is possible, Bitcoin will pump and you can make profits with such news.

Trading based on news have its disadvantages because it is not every time that Bitcoin moves in accordance to how you would have thought. Some news make Bitcoin to dip and not rise but you would have originally taught the news will make the market to be bullish. There are also bear traps with news that make the market moves slightly bullish but suddenly begin to fall in a very short timeframe. Better you do some analysis based on the charts before trading and not just depending on only the news before you trade Bitcoin. The charts are going to give you an Idea of what is likely going to happen but the news can be a distraction and makes you to miss the real details that you will need to be having successful trades. The atmosphere of the market also determine how impacting the news is going to affect Bitcoin.

There is, that is why you often hear or read words like this; "buy the rumor, sell the news".

It's up to you now on how you're going to analyze and understand that. But you have an idea already and you're able to make some profit. So, what matters here is on how active you are on looking for those news that rotates in the community and globally. When you see some opportunities for buying because there are some bearish news, not just all about speeches but in the entirety of the market, then use that as a signal for yourself to buy.

There are probably countless different trading bots scanning the news and social media influencers. They are triggered by keywords from right sources and buying or selling accordingly (with leverage).
I am certain that it's been happening for a while, because i first thought of something like this in 2015, and if i remember correctly, there already were basic bots build for that purpose.
 
I am not sure what kind of algorithm would be best for that, but i recon that there's no way to beat super fast pro bots that are build on serious hardware, but like with whales, it's always possible to surf on the waves they create if your bot can act fast enough.

I also include scalpers at certain moments, and listening to the news is one of the things that must be done to see the possibility of the market going in which direction, because it can still be tried to assess, Powel's speech is one indicator of how the economy is going forward and will make some people take positions, because it often happens when the news is positive it will make bitcoin or other assets get an increase.

In recent times, that's the major event that has acted as a catalyst for some rapid market movements (up or down). Someone made a post on X recently about an observation that news are beginning to move prices because they stopped moving prices a while ago. A project might do a v2 Mainnet update and you won't see price react to it — The Powell news is a major macro news imo. Another news that often move price in both crypto and stocks is CPI. PPI doesn't have the same effect unfortunately.

the buying of bitcoin in massive amount done by big institutions also created volatility in the market, it also happens when there's news of massive dumping as well.
I still remember BTC shoots up out of the blue when there's news of massive buying done by blackrock

see FTX news, they said they will credit to its victim starting from this monday and it's in USD, which means, some of the receiver can improve liquidity to the market and add buying pressure by reinvesting their money to alts.
doesn't necessarily guarantee that something big will happen but it might be good for scalping trades.

I personally always trade on whatever news important enough to change the tide of the market even slightly, some of them is like german government dumpings, mt.gox distribution of BTC to victim and so on. but those news are already old news the influence doesn't even affect market anymore.

I think it depends on a person's knowledge, experience, and understanding of the market. Most scalpers and day traders that I have known were usually in profit because they know when they need to make an entry and when they need to exit, and when they do that, they usually exit with some profit in their hands. So in general, if a scalper or a day trader is good at what they do, they can easily earn more money than those who buy and hold or do swing trading.

A scalper, if knows what he is doing, can earn about 10% to 20% profit on a good day making trades with their capital, now if someone profits 5 days in a week, they wouldn't lose much if they lose two days after that unless their losses are bigger than their gains which generally doesn't happen because experienced traders know how to mitigate the risks.

Eh  the cheap methods of making money from quick news buying/selling. Might seem tempting to someone new to the market, but I prefer to stay away from it. You can sell the news if it is going to go up, but buying or scalping that movement is a risky thing to do.

You are not the only one out there with a device and coins in hand. There are people who have bots deployed to inform and execute specific algorithms to trade and even then they are unable to get rich quick by these methods.

Stick to my advice, go for long term trading. Buy at every dip and hold for long.

They are market makers and if people who are not market makers, want to join the games, it's very welcome by market markers. They need participants in their games to help them getting profit. Market is zero sum game and without participants with money inflow, their games will be dead.

Think also of some insiders who they already ahead of you and to others, consider also this because sometimes what is happening is opposite from what you are thinking to happen, that's how the market works.

Market makers can test the market, with rumor and sometimes they direct the market exactly like how rumor should have impacts but sometimes they let it go and gamblers in the market who action oppositely to market movements, will lose money.

Like many models, market indicators, patterns fail because if they all work 100% like charm, no people will get profit or lose money in a zero sum market.

You don’t trade depending on the current news and events, but you trade because you know how to trade with such an unpredictable market and you know how to play the market right. Although news and current updates are quite significant when trading, but at some point, we need to trade regardless of them.

Trading is all about experience and expertise, adopting trading strategies and skills, and making reliable market predictions and analysis, and we can still achieve them even though we don’t put too much emphasis on the world news and events that are happening from time to time.
