Unethicality of certain bets & "Power Slap"

Since I never liked this strange sport at all, I even thought it wasn't a sport, so it was impossible to bet on this type of event.
Usually, sports events also get funds from sponsors, including bookies when they become famous sports because they will also bring many bettors to their bookies, and people shouldn't bet on this sport so it will slowly disappear because there are no fans and income.
Dana White's claim seems to be just to attract investors, but in fact they don't have that much money, and this event should be banned completely because the risk of people doing it is very high.

Basketball seems to be considered as sports with most injuries, but nobody ever though of banning it. That is why I dont think that power slaps will be banned because of health risk. There must be other reason. Also, since athletes dont earn much, I dont think that production cost a lot. However such sport is like something seasonable. I dont know the proper word for this, but its has high demand from viewers now, but the demand will end quick. So Dana seems to be squeezing maximum of it until hype ends. 

I think that power slap is a berberic sport and I wonder how some people can be entertained by watching the athletes inflicting raw painful slaps on each other. You can't compare this power slap to boxing in anyway, boxers wears gloves to cushion the effect of blows. Even professional wresters have rules not to hit each other with direct punches, even when they slap each other it's not continuous. No reasonable TV network will air such raw animosity that is very hazardous in the name of sporting entertainment. I wouldn't gamble my money on such a sport and I hope that the hype will die down so people can focus on games that they can relate with.

Just like we avoid betting on animal sports because this perpetuates the needless breeding and therefore abuse of animals...
Its for the same reasons that we should consider avoiding betting on sports that have very high potential to leave their athletes disabled.

I share a good concern with the animal competitions, though fun, the animals were brought up for the purpose, not that they willingly want to fight and compete that way. But for the multi-million dollar power slap competition being competed by full-grown adults, I would worry less about it if I were you. These guys know the risk and are making huge money in the end and will also be served and advised by the best doctors in the world, I don't feel for them. I also don't think those who are gambling for or against a power slap player are doing odd things in society.

Some of them are blocked (and it hurts also), some are not. I dont know what is worse, get a slap (a hit by hard part of palm) 3 times, or get 100 punches to different areas of head. Boxing is also barbaric sometimes. Specially when ref sleeps and let gut in standing knockout get more punches. Imho any sport, where we see blood, cuts and bruises is barbaric. People get entertained from the pain others feel, but they dont But, I will also never bet on such sport. This is not sport for me.

You could really be able to tell that those slaps are far more damaging than with those fists with having some gloves on it. Yes, impact is no exception in between two but we do know that bare hands
that would touch up into your face with full swings is something that more destructive in compared about those punches that could potentially be blocked with your gloves. Hits are inevitable
but totally depending on the intensity or force which has been used. I havent been able to bet up such sport and just like what most people been saying on here is that i dont really

Slap tournaments come from the games that people like to play when drunk, like beer pong, however I do not think there is much future for this supposed sport, simply because once the novelty wears off and no one watches those tournaments anymore then the sponsors will dry out and it will quickly disappear, so it is just a matter of time as I do not believe there is enough people interested in watching something like that to sustain power slap for long.

This is interesting, indeed boxing and other combat sports have their own rules and regulations and are officially given by each sports association itself, but how can boxing and other combat sports use rules to prevent injuries? then what about an MMA or Kickboxing fighter who gets heel or knee kick, elbow and also punch that results in broken bone or other injury to the head? does that mean the rules are useless?
Come on, everyone has their own rules and has their own risks because this is sport that does use physical combat and strength from everyone who participates, but this is sport that does not exist in every country so it is natural that now it is less popular and only focuses on entering part of betting event in certain places.

As much as many wanted to ban it, nobody will ban it and if they will ban it then they should ban boxing, MMA, and other sports that include hurting other people then because Power Slap is no difference to them.

Like you, I'm not comfortable in watching these people slapping with each other as they might get serious injuries maybe not at that time, but a few years when they do it continuously, but they will not ban it at all. On the flip side, there are people who are happily watching it for various reasons and we can't blame them if they want to see these people slapping with each other. Don't bet if you don't know anything about the sport. This Power Slap might be unsafe, but so is boxing and MMA. I think you'll agree to me on that part, right?

MMA and boxing are kind of safe. They have more rules and regulations to keep participates safe. While with slap fighting you just throw concussive slaps to peoples heads on the hope that they don't get back up again. In MMA and boxing the other person will hopefully get back up in the end after the fight, but I know that one person had to be dragged away from the spot where they were slapping each other because they didn't get back up. In boxing and MMA you can defend yourself and In boxing and MMA I'm pretty sure you can also wear head gear to protect your head because head trauma is a very serious thing that can lead to a lot of problems. In slap fighting though you cannot wear any head gear. Hopefully this makes sense but overall slap fighting is just a very bad sport that shouldn't be a thing that people should do for fun.

I'm slap fighting you're defenseless , there's no protective gears to be worn to mitigate the effects of the hard palms to the face, ears e.t.c and worse of it all, it's the head part that is exposed to unnecessary pressure, impacts and possible serious internal injuries. No matter the level of expert doctors they consult, over time there's a possibility of suffering accumulated pressure to the brain, eye, ears or other related head trauma issues aver can affect other parts of the body simultaneously.

From highlights that I saw it looks like first to slap with high chance will win the match (can it be called a fight?). So I am curious if there are any human body specialties that will have an impact on that "first to slap = winner" possible regularity. I just want to discuss and find out (since this topic gets so much of an interest) if small or large palm helps to win. Does thick neck or being fat helps (even though strikes supposed to be on a cheek)? Does having a heavy beard helps, as it might slow strikes impact, bounce back, be kind of a pillow effect?

I mistakenly got to watch one of the vide where one of the players was slapped and he immediately passed out. Quickly he was rushed into an ambulance, no one knew if he would be fine or if something bad had happened to him. However, all the players are aware of the consequences and it is in their choice to make if they would partake or not

This game is a very dangerous one, I can never advise my enemy to join such game, it is too unrealistic but unfortunately real, brain damage won't be very far from these people in the near future.
