Based on the argument that erupted lately, some persons said that those bettors that gamble for fun only bet on one or three matches, which is either their team or their favorite team.

Do anyone believe such an idea because I have not witnessed that any bettor gambling for fun only selected a few matches; even people that I know that claim to be betting for fun select more than 5 matches.

It can happen. Some people are truly a fan of their favorite team and they will only place a bet when their team is playing. If they are not, then there's nothing to be done. It's not like everyone is a gambler that always check the games on the sport that they love.

For example, I like the Denver Nuggets and the Dallas Mavericks because they are my favorite teams, but what if that day the teams that will be playing are the Detroit Pistons and the Portland Trail Blazers? Should I be forced to make a bet? No! Both teams suck and I won't force myself to bet with teams that won't even entertain me. So, I guess it will depend on each gambler. They have their own choices and some believe they will just bet for their team whenever there's a game.

You are absolutely right bud, and I completely agree with you. When I was still very new to betting, I never used to bet on any other football team except for them that are my favorite, and even if I would love to, I don't because I don't know what my chance of winning is, so I simply stick with the clubs I love to watch their game and already familiar with how they play their games.

But on the other hand, those who are more interested in making money off gambling really will not have any choice but to be versatile in their betting approach, which simply means that, they will have to learn how most of the team or club plays, in order to give themselves an edge by which they can be able to place bets on such games, whether it's their favorite or not..
I have a friend who never fails to place bets on almost every football match, except for when he's not around. If you ask him, he will say he has no business with favorism in football, he just wants to make money and that's all.

You can gamble for fun even without betting to your favorite team assuming that we are only talking about sports betting here. Anyone can place bet on any match that they find it interesting to bet on even though it’s not their favorite because placing a bet is the gambling part not the sports itself.

The discussion is focusing on sports alone which is not a gambling per se. Sports is only being use for gambling which means the idea of placing money is what makes people have fun and not the sports alone.

For me, You can have on any matches that you place the game because the feeling of losing your money at the same time of increasing it is what gives entertainment on gambling.

I don't do it but some people do that. It is because they think they study their favorite team thoroughly well. That means they (think they) know if the team is capable of beating its opponent or not. It is because they probably read the news about that team all day every day. Maybe they even have some insider connections who tell the latest news about the team. (like some player doesn't feel well etc)

Mind that, betting on the favorite team doesn't mean you should only bet on its victory. If you know about the recent bad news, you very well may bet on its defeat too.

I think that is a good strategy if you have good insider news sources.

As far as I am concerned, I always have the opinion that some people gamble so intensively for profit alone; that's why they easily get addicted, while a few people still gamble for fun. Each of us does have that favorite team on which we do really bet on, it will really be that understandable that there would really be those times or moments that we would really be that wanting to bet against
our favorite team and this is to those bettors who do really mind off on how to win up the bet and make profits but there would really be those individuals who would really be that trying out to stick into their favorite team just because on some sort of showing off some support. It will really be that understandable that there are really those situations or moments that you will really be making out such decision.
Majority of bettors will really be that focusing on how they will really be able to make money or profits and showing up some loyalty or support into their favorite would always come that on second priority.

I wont be easily getting having that upset moment or situation on which my favorite team loses. There's no such thing about perfect team without having no loss.
It will really be that recommended that you should really be always choosing on whose that likely to win. Winning matter the most of the time.

It's not compulsory or mandatory to bet on my team I select matches based on my personal analysis on weekly basis and emphasized on matches between strong teams and weak teams with any of these two options bet for a win or over 1.5 goals, however if my team is playing against a weak team I do bet for a win with accumulated odds up to 2.00 that is I do select two more sure matches, that that does not mean I bet for fun, I gamble responsibly to earn extra income thus I tried as much as possible to a oid addiction to gambling having learnt lessons based on bad experience of victims of addicted gamblers

If this question were directed at me, I would answer that I bet for fun and to try my luck.
So I place bets on every match, and for me, it is a pleasure to watch one of those matches, which gives a thrilling impression.
Betting every day on more than 5 matches is sometimes not a sign that someone is addicted or thinking about profit, but in fact, when I come home from work, I have a lot of time to fill that empty time by betting and watching those matches.

Yes, sometimes the results of the predictions we make can be wrong in predicting the opponent. Even though I have a favorite club, I never only bet on my favorite club because in the end when there is an opportunity to be at another club with conditions that can actually still be profitable in terms of probability then why not do it considering all the momentum when gambling of course we have to consider.

Although in this case for now I am still too careful with the steps taken such as when betting only for clubs that are likely to be able to win only or allow with a score that is quite predictable to score more than 2.5 goals or less than the handicap but in the end I do not rule out the fact that I bet for other clubs as well. Except for now I still exclude some bets for some clubs like Manchester United in EPL, Girona in La Liga or Atalanta in Serie A I still exclude them from my betting list from the beginning of the season until now considering their performance is quite difficult to predict.

I don't agree with this because I make more profits when I focus on few matches than when I add too many matches. There are people I also know that rollover 3 odds from something small to a big amount of money. They can get the three odds from just two or three matches. In betting, the risk increases as the number events in the bet increases so you make more profits when the risk is lower than when the risk is higher. It may take you a long time to win when you play too many matches even though a single win will cover many losses. It depends on individual preference though but I believe playing few matches give more profits because the win rate is higher.

I understand the point you are making, but some people will argue otherwise. This is because even with the few matches that you are selecting to place your bet on, there is no guarantee that the game will end as you have played it. The only difference here is that you have a higher chance of winning.
 
Just as the same thing is applicable with betting on a series of matches in which the outcome is not determined, you only place those bets based on your expectations and luck, with a lower chance of winning compared to the above, but there is also a possibility that the game can play as you predict it, and the amount won in that single slip can take the next person a whole year to meet up that amount, if it's something to be calculated based on profit.

I think that I gamble for fun and I bet on matches that I watch. I don't necessarily have to pick the ones where my team is playing, or fights with the fighters I like.

The only rules is that I don't bet on teams and fighters I don't know and matches I don't plan on watching. I try to enjoy the event as much as I can and don't like the feeling where the event takes place and I get to find out the result in the morning. I prefer to feel the excitement.

I also don't bet against my home teams. I'd rather not bet at all if I feel like they might lose.

I think that I gamble for fun and I bet on matches that I watch. I don't necessarily have to pick the ones where my team is playing, or fights with the fighters I like.

I also don't bet against my home teams. I'd rather not bet at all if I feel like they might lose.

That's just the spirit mate , while betting on games you won't watch and you saying you gamble for fun (there's no such thing as fun there) in other words you are just doing it for the money alone . I know is fun and exciting to win extra bucks through gambling but that shouldn't be our top focus , we should prior fun more in gambling because if you focus more on making money alone you may endup with massive losses due your approach to gambling.

Even if we take the equation of choices out, still i believe that we should bet on our faovoutre team and if we believe that our favourite team is not the favourite to win the matches, then it is better to not bet on that particular match and let go the bet on that match. If we bet on a team that is not our favourite, even though that team may be strong, still our heart and mind won't sink and it can create a lot of mental disturbance.

Continue with this example, I would also want my favortie team to win and if i bet on the other team, it will create a mess in my mind because i would want my favortie team to win and at the same time i would want the other (strong) team to win too so i can win my bet.

In the last 15 bets that I have gone for, I selected more than 10 bets as just bets on a single match. I won such bets often. The remaining that I went for more than one match, I did not go beyond 3 and I lost such 2 times. I think I bet for fun but I do not like to lose which makes me to be prudent with spending while betting.

Today I went for seven matches which I can still call fun because I can afford to lose the money that I use for the bet. I did not go for favorite matches, I go for matches that I think I can win even if it is one match.

You mean more than 10 games in a single bet, and if you still see it as gambling for fun, then it should, unless you are addicted or staking with a large amount of money that you are not willing to lose.

Yeah, I do believe that people that gamble for fun should not spend the amount of money they will end up to regret later but like you said, you don't.
