From your choice of words and arrangement of words, you are not from US and instead of using US, you would have used your country/currency. And even though you such amount of money in US, you still need to work and you don't have to retire because you have such amount. But if you have such dollars in any of African countries then you have enough millions.

But money is something that reduce in number and size if you are not bringing in income to add what you have. So it is better you work at the energy is still there till the 62 years. Even at the 62 you don't know when you will die. Whether you will spend more years again and if you will still spend 40 to 50 again then continue investing.

If someone who is 43 maybe 44 years old in the u.s. has like at most 15 million usd worth of bitcoin, should they continue to work until theyre at least 62 years of age or can they just retire much earlier assuming they were either receiving annual dividends which were at least 300k usd per year or should they work until at least 50 years old to throw the towel?  How can it be determined when they should just stop working all together then?  Retire now or until theyre 50/62 years of age to enjoy their $$$?
There are some questions that you might want to consider before retiring.
1. With that huge number of Bitcoins that you have, will that be enough for you to make you survive?
2. Do you have a lavish lifestyle? O you're a type of person who doesn't spend anything that much on very expensive things.

As a person living in a 3rd world country, having an annual dividend of $300,000 is already a huge one for me and having Bitcoins worth $15,000,000 is just... no words to explain. Cheesy Anyway, with how things are right now and with the amount of money that you have, and you get, I believe that would be enough for you to retire and just sit on the couch watching some Netflix movies. Enjoy your life the way you want it. Retiring at 44 and having to earn passively through dividends is one of the most satisfying things to do as an investor.

Well, I believe that $300,000 would be enough for you, so just retire if the person you describe on this post is "YOU".

Even if you live in the United States, that's a huge amount of money and not everyone has that kind of money. I don't think a 43 year old with a $15 million net worth can't figure out their future and seek advice online.

If it were me, I would go to my local lawyer or financial advisor for the best advice instead of going on forums or social media to seek advice from people who are still struggling with life. That is not a wise idea as it will make people more skeptical. I recommend you find a financial expert or advisor, they will give you the best advice you want to hear.

You have good reason to seek professional advice. Especially if you are managing a large property like this. Financial advisors and lawyers can provide advice based on your individual circumstances. Tax implications and long-term financial goals, of course. However, I think it's also valuable to seek feedback in communities like this and where people can offer alternative perspectives or even share their own experiences.

Of course, the expert financial advisor is invaluable, but the forums can offer insights or feedback that might help frame the questions you pose to those experts. In the end Getting professional advice to organize your finances At the same time, understanding that other people who are similarly situated, how do they guide their own decisions? Sometimes, it is a requirement to be open-minded and make decisions with the proper consideration of all the available alternatives before committing to making an important decision in life.

Most of us are just retail bitcoin investors and none of us are experts or financial advisors, we even have trouble with our own lives. So do you think it is reasonable that we cannot even take care of ourselves but can give advice to others? Not to mention, who here has ever owned such a large amount of money? Should someone who makes a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month give financial advice to a millionaire and is that wise?
That's why I recommend OP to seek out experts, advisors or maybe his millionaire friends so he can get the best advice and not waste his time.

You can sell some of your Bitcoin if you intend on having some larger expenses.

If your goal is to live a more affluent lifestyle then owning $15 million in BTC might not be enough to finance that, in which case it would be better to keep working. I would rather enjoy life and live stress free and don’t care about having the largest mansion and most expensive luxury cars.

I didn't think about it, though I saw and heard the concept one day - an advisor or an expert, as you said, can be hired and do the thought process of doing something with such an amount of money given to you.
That would be a good choice for the money gained to be responsibly used in the future.

You can only retired when you have your money planted in places to yield a meaningful profits for you without you touching your stash bitcoin, and there should be a reserved funds which would also served as either emergence funds or something to keep you relying on without you touching your stashed bitcoin. The amount is fair enough and of course if you look at the age you may think that there are no need to keep bugging oneself to work anymore since life expectancy is between 62-90 years and 15m usd worth of bitcoin is pretty huge amount to serve you for the entire rest of your years on the earth, but to be at the safer side there is always a need to have a running business which to give you day, weekly/monthly returns without you having to touch stashed bitcoin except you have reached your investment duration.

age of 44 , why need to stop working?  do living stops at that age?

maybe best to stop working and just invest in businesses , take out the 5 million dollars as business capital and let that 10 million worth double its value till you reached that 62 years of age.

from that you may enjoy life at younger age and just check your business once a week , we are not working for ourself but for our family , so better have investments for our children and enjoy life with your wife in hourly basis .

Work retirement is subjective, we have plans and targets for ourselves. In the most reasonable view, if Warren Buffet could be working at 94, why not work for the rest of your life if time and health permit you? Don't get me wrong, working doesn't mean you should stress yourself, you do the work according to your capacity. Having money doesn't mean it should be wasted with our banks, you can smartly put it to work. You can invest in companies, you can establish businesses for professionals to manage them for you, the list is long.

It's a sign of success to pass an inheritance to your children regardless of whether they need it or not, it shows you are fulfilled.

Life is very short and if you can be financially free, why don't you enjoy your life with good life quality as soon as possible?

The question here is whether the job is stopping him from enjoying his life to fullest. Some people derive joy in working despite having enough money to cater for their daily needs. If the nature of the job doesn't require him to undergo hard labor or enslaved him, he should continue with the job while maintaining the investment for a much longer time. Although, I will have to quit the job if I should be in his shoes for personal reasons. I'm the type that value my freedom working under government or anyone won't grants you full freedom. I will instead quit the job and diversify my investment with that amount and do things my own way.

Yeah, he may be a freelancer or someone who has more opportunities to take in terms of freedom on their work time and overall, so why not continue enjoying something that he is doing, alongside such a big fortune?
Though some would just leave everything and live to their fullest.

I don't know how expensive life is in the US but I think owning 15 million dollars is not a small amount of money and can be called a rich person.
If it were me I would retire immediately with that amount of money, which is a huge amount of money for any 3rd world country. If someone has that amount of money, they don't even need to work and can enjoy life for the rest of their lives without any worries.

If OP's ambition is to become a billionaire and live the life of the super rich, it's not time for him to think about retirement yet. But if he just wanted to live the life of a rich man then I think he would have achieved that and wouldn't need to work anymore. Because to own a villa and a supercar, he doesn't need more than 15 million dollars even if he is in the US.

Most persons find perfection in working, as waking up and going to work makes them feel differently, the sight of seeing colleagues and talking to them make them feel alive despite having the money. Some Persons that have retired at the age of 40 to 44 years of age after achieving a lot, still have to come back to active service because retiring looks empty and boring to them.
So If you're 44 and you have a lot of money you can retire with, you can actually negotiate with your company on your work schedule about some days you can be going to work, instead of retiring outrightly. For me retirement should be around 57-62 years.

If a job can provide enough income to be able to meet their daily needs then it is very important for anyone to keep working and if a job is done that forces them to work hard and also have a slavery system, of course they have to find another source of income that can provide them with income for their needs and with the investment they make, of course this will help them achieve success financial at their retirement age.

Everyone of course wants freedom in work and as you said, if someone works under the government, then they must be able to follow the existing rules and choose to quit their job by taking the path of investing, of course it is not an easy choice and not everyone can do that, if you can run an investment well, of course it will make you achieve financial freedom if you succeed running well.

If I have such an amount I will retire immediately and engage in other activities that give me so much joy. The only reason why I am working today is because I don't have sufficient investment that can sustain me and my family. The rat race is such a monotonous, stressful and boring journey, and I cannot wait to escape from it. I have a passion for volunteering and humanitarian work. I would like to support prisoners and refugees.

Retiring will also be a good time to start a business I love not just for the money but to assist my community. But some people like why they do and might not want to retire. I know a very rich teacher but his love for teaching is still keeping him in the classroom.

If he can still be productive with his current job or business, it is better not to retire first. retiring early may seem fun. but maybe we will never know what will happen to us in the future.
Let the Bitcoin we have continue to increase in value and continue to make money when we still have that potential. living in old age with strong financial security is indeed everyone's dream. I too, if I were that age and could no longer be productive in making money, would prefer to buy a house in the countryside that has a large yard and enjoy a comfortable retirement.

If I were in the position of the person you mentioned with 15 million US dollars in bitcoin, I would retire early and prefer to enjoy life, especially since we will receive dividends every year. Retirement means not working anymore and not doing heavy activities anymore if the investment will continue as usual. If you wait until the age of 50/62 I think that is not the age to enjoy life, because at that age we are already weak and even sick so much that we cannot enjoy life.

Actually, currently my retirement target is 45 years old, now I am trying to prepare for all of that by continuing to work hard and invest so that at the targeted age I have achieved my target, which is financial freedom. Now I work for money, God willing, later the money will work for me so that I can make the decision to retire early.

I guess it depends if that person is willing to sell their Bitcoin to retire or not. They could sell $10 million worth and live off $50,000 a month for the rest of their lives. Maybe $100,000 a month if they sell out of the money covered call options for additional income. That is plenty of money.

I’m a strong supporter of the F.I.R.E. movement. Fixed Income Retire Early. Get a passive income stream that will provide for you, then enjoy life. Best way in my opinion.

I would not be continuing to work if I had $15,000,000 in Bitcoin. If you love your job & you work for yourself then maybe I could see why you may continue. But as an employee, working for somebody else whilst having that much money in Bitcoin, no way. Let’s remember that Bitcoin increases in value over time so with careful planning I could easily retire with that much in Bitcoin.

Imho another good direction would be to sell bitcoin for covering the projected expenses (the 50-100k/month in your math) for a 4-years cycle and leave the rest as Bitcoin. Of course, sell at some point during the bull run.
This way the wealth will keep growing, the person avoids the trouble of selling in crypto winter, all good.
Of course, this means one does know/trust/believe that bitcoin price will always be higher after a 4-years cycle.
