If someone who is 43 maybe 44 years old in the u.s. has like at most 15 million usd worth of bitcoin, should they continue to work until theyre at least 62 years of age or can they just retire much earlier assuming they were either receiving annual dividends which were at least 300k usd per year or should they work until at least 50 years old to throw the towel?  How can it be determined when they should just stop working all together then?  Retire now or until theyre 50/62 years of age to enjoy their $$$?

Is the $100k BTC possible?

If you have that amount of Bitcoins worth of 15m and you are the only one supporting yourself, why not retire at 44 years old? Since that amount is huge amount, I think a person can live with $44k annually, depending on where you live. The $300,000 is too much for an annual budget; I am not sure how you spend such a large amount unless you live with a family.

Personally I think this can do until retirement. Maybe because in my country, when I convert the numbers you just mentioned, it is huge and more than enough to sustain an entire family but in the US it might be so different since your living expenses are more expensive and will get just even more expensive. You would need to make sure that you can cover all things possible. Daily expenses, medical bills, or any emergency like the house burning down and if you have kids you would also need to make sure that they already have graduated or else you would also need to cover educational bills until they are. Only you can assess how much you are spending in a course of a year and whether what you have is enough to sustain you until your last day.

Again you are the only one who knows the extent of your situation. If you can still work and you are not experiencing any health concerns I think a year or two would not hurt. If you are not yet determined to retire then I think that is your answer.

I believe, no matter what the other members tell you or not, it will still be up to you. The decision is still yours so as long as you are happy with it, it should not be a problem. However, i see a lot of people that get into retirement looks for different things to still be active in. Maybe you would get bored in the retirement life or something. Try pros and cons.

I would retire Grin. we don't know how long we will live, that dividend is enough to cover your daily expenses even more, time to enjoy life when you're settled financially speaking already as long as you don't overspend by buying some sports car in yearly basis you're settled and you could probably go on in a holiday for years already with that much amount of money, if you live in a country with cheaper cost for living, it essentially allows you to multiple your wealth already because you don't need to spend as much.

in short, just live the dream.

Life is very short and if you can be financially free, why don't you enjoy your life with good life quality as soon as possible?

From 44 to 62 year-old, it's 28 years that equal to 8 Bitcoin market cycles. We know that historically each Bitcoin market cycle lasts for 4 years, that comes together with cycle of Bitcoin block subsidy halving. Satoshi Nakamoto set up the block subsidy halve after every 210,000 Bitcoin blocks that take about 4 years to happen.

Times of 100x or 1000x for your investment in Bitcoin long gone and will not come back, so your investment ROI target must be much lower, like 4x, 5x. I believe that with 8 more market cycles, that ROI target will be achievable.

Meanwhile, you can withdraw your profit gradually with time too, like the method of JayJuanGee.

Personally: I'd stop working and run a small modest business where I can potentially earn more, with less effort(hire employees). People often shun online businesses, where risk-reward ratios are really great.

This is true. When you are rich enough, have abundant money, you can have many options to do but as a person who became millionaire by investment in Bitcoin, it is possible to reserve part of capital in bitcoin, as investment for future.

Cash out and use money for two other main things: retirement capital, and investment capital into a business like a restaurant, a coffee shop, that will help to get sustainable revenue and it's good capital diversification as well as manage risk better. You can be the owner of business, and hire professional staffs to kick-off your business successfully.

Even if you live in the United States, that's a huge amount of money and not everyone has that kind of money. I don't think a 43 year old with a $15 million net worth can't figure out their future and seek advice online.

If it were me, I would go to my local lawyer or financial advisor for the best advice instead of going on forums or social media to seek advice from people who are still struggling with life. That is not a wise idea as it will make people more skeptical. I recommend you find a financial expert or advisor, they will give you the best advice you want to hear.

Wow...this is a lot of funds mate to put you on "fuck you status" . Personally, I will work till 50 years and allow my $15 million bitcoin invest to compound for another 7 years to generate more profits and retire at 50 years for me to relax and enjoy my retirement funds.

This is because at 50 years, I will have more ideas and knowledge on what to do with 5% of the funds so that I don't solemly depend on only my bitcoin for survival, and the kind of life I would love to live either a flamboyant one or not.

It's a good challenge. But when deciding whether to retire now or wait? Well, there are some things worth considering, although $15 million is certainly enough to retire on. But the decision isn't just about the amount of money. But it also depends on how you want to live your life. What is your goal? And what are you doing? How does he want to maintain your lifestyle over time? If you earn $300,000 in taxes per year, that's stable income. But you are comfortable with the market fluctuations. Particularly if the bulk of your wealth is tied to Bitcoin or not, a multifaceted approach can help manage that risk.

Another consideration is how you want to spend your time like do you love your job or do you want more freedom to travel, have hobbies, or pursue other activities? You can decide to stay active until age 50 just to build a larger buffer.

A financial planner can therefore calculate how much you will actually need based on your expected lifestyle. However, bottom line, it is very important to balance your financial security and personal goals. Some are content with working a little longer for peace of mind. Some want to retire sooner and calibrate their living styles according to this objective. It is all about what comfort is most provided and what is granted most satisfaction.

You have good reason to seek professional advice. Especially if you are managing a large property like this. Financial advisors and lawyers can provide advice based on your individual circumstances. Tax implications and long-term financial goals, of course. However, I think it's also valuable to seek feedback in communities like this and where people can offer alternative perspectives or even share their own experiences.

Of course, the expert financial advisor is invaluable, but the forums can offer insights or feedback that might help frame the questions you pose to those experts. In the end Getting professional advice to organize your finances At the same time, understanding that other people who are similarly situated, how do they guide their own decisions? Sometimes, it is a requirement to be open-minded and make decisions with the proper consideration of all the available alternatives before committing to making an important decision in life.

I agree. Of course, the amount of money is big, but it may become even better in 7 years, or a bit more, people would choose their own retirement age, but 50-55 seems alright, depending on the job.
I think that in 7 years, your investment will become even bigger, thus ensuring that you will have more opportunities to use it in other ways or spend it just on yourself.

Think in they way, you never know how much you will use of the money .. some months maybe 5k some months maybe 2k next 10k, depends on your lifestyle what you wanna live.

But one is true, if the chance is there to stop working at this age, take the chance, or it will be "I could do it but i did not" some day.

And the suggestion with the small business is a thing i would prefere, not big only that you have a daily target.

Easy counting 30years a 12 months are 360 months.

15m divided by 360 months are 41k monthly and than you are 74 years old.

This is maybe no Financial advisor thinking, but it is simple and pure math. And i have not calculated the amount of money that comes from dividends no matter if it´s 2% or 3% or 1.5%.

Hold one thing in your mind, all ppl that come now and say i can help you make more money, nah, i think you know what i wanna say .. Be happy and do it your way.

Sry for my bad english.

If someone who is 43 maybe 44 years old in the u.s. has like at most 15 million usd worth of bitcoin, should they continue to work until theyre at least 62 years of age or can they just retire much earlier assuming they were either receiving annual dividends which were at least 300k usd per year
Bitcoin isn't a stock or centralized business which give you annual dividends or interest.

If you sell your $15 Million of Bitcoin at once, it will occur capital gains and you need to pay tax, in the end you only get probably $12-13 Million.

I don't understand why people are really obsessed with "retirement", it's different with "financial freedom".

Retirement means you will completely stop working, while financial freedom, you aware if you have a lot money and you can quit from your job at anytime or doing whatever you want.

I'm not saying $15 Million is small, but if in the future you or one of your family suffered serious disease, do you think $15 Million are enough?

Cancer patients pay $16 billion out-of-pocket annually for cancer treatment.

there's more to working than just getting your regular salary or building wealth. For some, it's about the passion they have for thier business and for others, it's not just about how much you've generated either in Bitcoin or USDT but that you created a system that is sustainable and that you're still managing and ensuring that  it remains relevant for the long term.

$15M worth of bitcon is not what's obtainable by the average individual and that's even above somany persons fuck you region but even at that, would that mean when you've gotten upto that amount you will just retire even when you're still quite young? Apart from those that have good plans after retirement, retiring too early can make you become vaulnaurable to a lot of vices and if you're not careful enough, you might start engaging in reckless and bad habits that might lead you to becoming an addict to a particular substance.

Don´t understand what you try to tell ppl, a everyday worker that has 5k monthly will need to work nearly 17 years to gain 1m.

The only thing he has to care is, what will he do with health insurance, all other is easy peasy.

Maybe you make more than 41k a month so for you 15m are peanuts, he will have it from the start.

With your statement, we are all not allowed to live if we are under 10-20-30-40k monthly incomming, because we will have problems in the future, c´mone stay realistic.

You show one example from 8 bill ppl on the planet.

What would 15 million usd at 3% dividends return be if not 600k usd annually?
You can create an excel sheet and calculate it in two ways.

15,000,000 as initial capital, and ROI is 3% annually, the profit will be 450,000 each year. In this case you can withdraw that profit each year and don't reinvest it.

The second case is reinvest your profit, and you will need a formula for accumulative investment capital and ROI is 3% annually.
After 1 year, you will have a new capital is 15,000,000+450,000 = 15,450,000 for the second year, and 3% of it is 463,500 for a second year.

For a third year, you can continue this calculation, for both cumulative capital and profit.

I don't know why you asked this question with an input of 3% ROI annually, it's unrealistic because Bitcoin has bullish and bearish years.

This is a decision that is entirely up to you. Every advice will be given from our perspective, we don't really know how your life is. We don't know if you're your only responsibility or a married man with kids and other family members to take care of. My point is, only you can answer that question for yourself.

If I was the one with $15 million in BTC, I won't be thinking of retirement, maybe because I'm younger, but certainly because there's more money to be made.
I'll still work, but not as hard. What's an early retirement anyway? I mean, you can be working and still have a very fun lifestyle. You never know how tomorrow will be.
With that kind of money, you can have something that is not stressful and time consuming that'll still give you more money.
It's totally up to you. People view life differently and no matter how absurd a thing might sound to one, that's exactly what another wants.

I'm not saying $15 Million is small, but if in the future you or one of your family suffered serious disease, do you think $15 Million are enough?

Cancer patients pay $16 billion out-of-pocket annually for cancer treatment.

If you have cancer or other diseases that are considered incurable, even if you have billions of dollars, it won't save you, spending millions of dollars just to keep you alive for a few more years. Therefore, depending on each person's financial ability, there will be different decisions.

15 million dollars is not a small amount of money, mate. The US population is 400 million, how many people can have that amount of money, let alone other third countries? That amount of money will be enough for you to have financial freedom and be able to retire anytime you want.
