I totally agree with the illusion word. After a long losing streak we have the illusion that things will change and a winning streak will come, but as you mention, it is just an illusion because the bad streaks can be really long. It is hard to understand that we must change our betting method or do something different because if we stay on the same track the outcome will not change.

If you check on Youtube and google with a dice strategy you will see many people claiming the same thing, that they have found out a strategy that works and they maybe right for a short time, enough time to post a video on Youtube claiming their winnings there. There is only one problem, over the long run this is an illusion as it will not work over the long term. I tried some of the so called strategies and they eat my money so fast. Only one strategy works, 98% win chance which serves for wagering to increase VIP levels and this is a losing strategy over the long run, it only works for increasing your VIP ranks.
