It's just another phenomenon that gamblers often assumes that they have some control over the outcome of their bets especially if they have been doing it for a while even though every time is just purely random there's no skill involved. It’s always certain 99% of gamblers trust the process and that’s normal personally when I started gambling I had this thought I can win every game unknowingly gambling is not for the weak. I will not consider a confident gambler as a controversial gambler, there’s no doubt we can win always likewise lose it’s just unpredictable but, let’s not allow the emotions get to our mental health whereby we feel in charge. Dice game is always like that and it has favored a lot of people who practice daily, strategy is needed for most games I think that’s where the control comes from.

I used to know a croupier and he told me that they were taught special methods of shuffling the cards to maximize the probability of a good deal for the casino. He also said that they were trained to throw the ball into the right sector on roulette. I do not know if this is all true, but I admit that this is possible in some land-based casinos. By the way, many croupiers are forbidden to gamble in casinos where they work. Maybe they really have more skills than the average gambler so for them control is not an illusion? And if so, that experience can be passed on to someone else.

But unfortunately, they also do not always win with the way they think is a control that they apply in gambling. There are so many gambling games and for me, all of these games basically  require luck to be able to win, because if you think you can win with skill and control then you should be able to get rich from gambling, but in reality more gamblers experience defeat and worse makes their social life bad too.

It is pretty much a common mindset among new gamblers, I think. That is probably why newbies and casuals are specially profitable for casinos, because of the lack of experience and self-control.
And it is nothing to be ashamed of, I believe, most of gamblers have passed through such stage in their journey, the important thing to do is straightening one's path and learn how to manage bankroll properly, instead of getting fooled by the illusion of making money off gambling in the long term.

Even gamblers that deep down know the reason they are losing is simply because of their luck may eventually fall into that kind of magical thinking, and this is because as humans, it can be very difficult to accept that there are things that are outside our control and there is nothing we can do to change them, and this is even more true today than what it was on the past, as now humans as a species are so powerful, it can be difficult to imagine something that cannot be influenced by us.

Its just a human feeling and the guts works so i don't see anything wrong in it. Being confident is like having a strong will and most times it works for us. The only mistake many gamblers do is that they let the confidence take full control of them. It make them take decisions in gambling believing that they are in the right position to always win but get disappointed when they don't win. No one is immune to lose. We all will lose and win in gambling so if we win then we are most likely lucky in that bet and when we lose its unfortunate that we did.

Just like you said it's really an illusion,  gambling addiction can make you do unreasonable things... it's not possible to be in control of gambling outcomes, there are no ways to tap your screen or tilt your mobile phone to alter the outcome of the game..if you ever find yourself in this position just know that you are losing yourself gradually and if you don't recover from that mental trap you are going to put yourself in a lot of trouble..you can't be in control that's the simple truth just stake responsibly and enjoy the game so you don't become a mindless addict.

Addiction is what makes a gambler have the illusion that he can control the outcome of his bet by coming up with some funny practices which will end up disappointing him. It might work at first, but later it will not. Gambling is based on lucky and if you are not on your lucky moment, whatever you do will not change the outcome of the game. Initially when I started gambling, I thought all those stuff works but when I lost big, I refrain from such illusions.

We do not have control when gambling and we need to realize this so that we do not hope too much and our hearts gets broken when how we thought the way the game was going to play out does not happen. The house have more control than we. We can only have control on few types of games that gives us the control like poker games because when you are good at playing poker, you can determine how the games turn out but for games that are based on luck like casino games, you can never be in control regardless of how you think you have figured out a strategy to use in winning. Unless when there is a glitch in the system and it favours you although it would not last long before it gets discovered and corrected. In sport betting, you might have some little control but still you need luck to win.

Isn't the chance of winning same as chance of losing, so I do not understand why there would be any sort of illusions. What I see as abnormal is if someone starts thinking that the pattern they have discovered will help them beat the system there by giving them overconfidence to play without fear of losing, as such people always end up losing more than they plan to spend.

This delusion has swept away too many gamblers especially those that call themselves professionals who have over a period of time been able to make some results for awhile so they believe they are now experts and to an extent by their skill can have some level of control over the outcome of their game but it later turns out they get disappointed at the end of the day because they aren't getting it just the way they had taught it would be turning out at the moment so its always not the ideal line of taught because even in dice you may make several throws and still end up not getting anything reasonable but someone who has got a single mild or hard throw without skill could still get good numbers and win unlike that which you had taught.

I doubt that the chances of winning and losing can be guaranteed to be the same, some people do think that the chances of winning and losing can be said to be 50/50, I think the chances of winning or losing are even greater for the players, because for the host of course they have the opposite chance of winning, namely a greater chance of winning. In addition, with patterns or strategies there are indeed and can increase our chances of winning, but not all games are based on patterns or others, some are purely dependent on luck.
However, in my opinion, it is unlikely to win, with those who think they can beat the system is very unlikely, if they can beat the system with the pattern they have, maybe they have become billionaires but I don't think anyone can do that. In addition, with those who have a pattern to be able to win according to their beliefs, it usually makes them confident, but the final result that will still happen is most likely just defeat.

This illusion does not just happen to gamblers but happens to trader and pretty much all speculators out there. We always think that everything is under our control personally this happen to me like on every trade my confidence fueled my body that the prices were going to up but in the end it didn't if feel like damn man but it is real.

This seems to be the same when betting on sports betting, thinking that placing a bet when one team is ahead will give you a win, in fact there are still two possible chances of a draw or the team that is behind making a comeback, so it can be said that gambling is more often random, when what we think is right does not mean that we have managed to control it, there is no surefire strategy in gambling because on many occasions we can still lose.

I think it helps a lot to understand the processes in gambling when we know a lot about how it works. For example, how a casino makes money, what are the features of each game, be it poker, betting or slots. For example, slots are not very interesting to me, because I don’t want to mindlessly press one button, I want to conduct at least a small analysis of the bets and apply mental effort, for me it’s interesting. I can’t understand those who bet on luck, it’s not interesting to me at all. Although I understand that all players are different and some just want to press a button and have cash fall at their feet.

Not many people wants to learn about the processes in gambling and how it works. People only want to makes money from gambling and will not stop even if they already make that. People know what gambling games they should play because they already have their favorite games.

Yeah, and also a lot of people have a lot of superstitions in regards to gambling, so I am sure many think they are way ahead when in reality they are losing money overall.

Our mind always tricks us in believing whatever we want to believe, and the casinos take advantage of this.

In the end it is just random things, and the odds are against the gambler... easy to predict what will happen.
