As I grow older, I’ve come to realize that personal effort often pales in comparison to the power of existing social systems. Poverty isn’t just about the lack of financial resources—what’s even more disheartening is that discussions about poverty are usually led by those who have never experienced it themselves.

Poverty is more common among people who fail to grow not just financial resources no doubt, why do people see personal responsibility as a burden is because they don’t have much. Resources or wealth creation should be considered when discussing topics like this. You don’t tell people what’s more suitable for discussion and others should just focus on poor topics alone? That’s so wrong from my view because if a group of poor people always share an idea and yet no growth shows they lack what it takes for anyone to become rich either knowledge, power etc. poor people don’t just discuss and lament rather they need a solution which involves everyone’s opinion, don’t know if anyone observed 50% of rich men worked hard to be successful. Looking at the world economy in general a time might come opinions will no longer be needed from crowd rather action speaks louder than words and no one wants to be in any situation as being poor.

Just like you said, you can't understand what poverty is if you have never experienced it yourself, there are lots of people that are born with a silver spoon these are the people that even discuss on poverty the most when they haven't been through it before. Apart from financial availability poverty is also a state of mind, it's not always about having money, do you have goals and prospect?,Are you making connections and trying to improve your networking? You can't just sit down and hope to acquire wealth, it's your responsibility to wake up and fight for it.

The funny thing about people who think they are poor is that poverty doesn't start from not having money, someone can be blinded in poverty because he doesn't have good vision, good plans of investment even when he or she is getting money which could probably be used to do a good investment because he's mindset is total blinded by poverty he can't come up with a great idea to liberate himself from the shakles of poverty so I think poverty is a big disease which doesn't only affect people financially but emotionally and mentally.

Wealth is a choice I think any one who's interested in changing the status he was born with will rise to do meaningful things, get along with people and get good contact and information that will change his or her status then you will see a positive change in the person and he will no longer be seen as a poor poo person.

If a country is experiencing difficulties in terms of the economy, of course it will be difficult for most people to get jobs with decent incomes to be able to meet the needs they need and there will be many people who will become poor because of these conditions.
Related to agriculture, if we continue to rely on imported products, of course it will be difficult for some people who have low incomes to be able to enjoy agricultural products, so it is important for them to be able to think of an idea that can indeed build the agricultural sector even though their country does not have a good geographical location for planting agriculture.
If the population of a country is lagging behind in the field of education, of course the government must focus on developing the field of education so that their country can continue to experience development towards a better state than before.

You don't have to be poor in order to discuss poverty.

Any kind of topics or discussions can be discuss by gathering enough data or information regarding about it. Poverty is indeed very alarming, and the Government is not paying attention on solving that problem, that's the sad truth especially in third world countries.

Mostly, Government are just focused on how they are going to steal the money of the whole nation without being caught or notice by it's citizens. They don't care about poverty, in fact they are happy that there are so many people facing poverty because that it is their target every elections, vote buying at its finest.

This is the funniest thing about defending against poverty. If you defend and say people should not be poor enough that they die on the streets starving, then you are saying something noble and should be listened and it's a human thing to want others to do at least a bit well, sure I am not unrealistic enough to say let's all ride on lambos, but at least not starve on the streets.

And responses change on how you are doing, if you are poor then they tell you to work and not want free money without work and bash you for being poor and wanting more when all you want is not starving and a better future for your kids, a level playing field with others. And if you are rich, then this time they tell you you should not talk about poor peoples problems when you are so rich, and if you are so considered of them then give your money to charity, like that's not what my taxes suppose to do anyway. They will find a way to ignore you so they can ignore the issue.

I do not entirely blame the government for our poverty but as leaders they are the ones who bear most of the responsibility for the economic situation of the country. People are unemployed, living in poverty because of their stupid economic policies, because of the greed, the selfishness of politicians. Can we save ourselves and get out of poverty without government help? I seriously doubt it.

Personal responsibility can never be the cause of poverty but there are these three major factors that from me I think they are, and I will be glad to share it.
1: Economy. When the economy is not stable and when it affects the price of goods then a man should be ready to fight for himself and also learn how to deal with the economy cause this is the major factor.
2: Job. This is very important to anyone who has decided to be self dependent or if not a job you have something doing.
3: Your determination. Anybody that has decided to take responsibility of himself has embarked on a lifetime journey and you must learn to have self control, you must be contented,these are the determinations you should make else you can make good sum of money and still lavish them. So this factors can be another factor of poverty to a self dependent person.

When we are talking about the extreme ends of poverty, the people who have very little in different countries, then their children will often struggle and be trapped in the same cycle as their parents. Take Pakistan as an example, you might have parents who struggle along in low paid jobs and ultimately end up sending their kids to help earn at an early age when you might otherwise expect them to be in education. Without education it is hard to move up the career ladder and you may end up doing manual work which can often be back breaking or expose you to very dangerous environments.

It is true that there are dozens of reasons why a country becomes poor, but if you think that geography is the cause of poverty, I don't think so. I believe that a country's economy depends entirely on government policy and leadership. They need to know clearly the strengths and weaknesses of their country and from there have strategic plans to boost the economy. They cannot tell the people that because our country is geographically disadvantaged, our economy cannot develop.

Japan can be an example, they are not a country with an ideal geographical location. Their country is just an archipelago surrounded by sea and mountains, not to mention their specialty is many earthquakes and volcanoes  . Overall, Japan's geographical location is not favorable, but they are one of the countries with the highest GDP in the world. Not to mention, they were the only country to suffer the severe consequences of nuclear bombs in World War II, but look at how they stood up and developed. It can be said that it is all thanks to the talented leadership of the government and the resilient spirit of the Japanese people.

The amount of people with "rich mindset" do end up with hurting themselves a lot when they are broke though. Because they are spending for a future gain, and they believe they need to take risks to get better and eventually they end up with nothing and they are upset about it. Sure, if the risk pays off and they do fine then they become rich but not everyone is like that, in fact a small portion of them are lucky enough to make money.

Most of them who are broke and have rich mindset that takes risks, ends up with absolutely nothing and because of this we are going to end up with a lot of trouble as well. We are going to end up with a ton of issues on the risk taking part when you are rich mindset but can't provide that with your budget.

This is done by the rich strata of society. Objectively, on a global scale, the poor are poor because the rich are rich. If a country has a government that is not corrupt and cares about the lives of its people, I guarantee that there will be no poverty in that country. Give me an example of a country that has no corrupt government and cares about its people but is still poor?

Most people need, especially those who are not highly educated and whose income depends on manual labor. There are people who can rise up on their own with their knowledge and strength, but we are talking about solutions for an entire nation, not for a few individuals.

People who get wealth also do not necessarily have a high educational background and that is not the only reason. I remember how some people I knew were only high school graduates but they succeeded in developing businesses and they became rich people that almost everyone can get.

Of course, wealth is not measured by education but tell me how many people can be successful without high education? (I am talking about education, knowledge, not degrees.)

That would be enough, but how many governments have done that? How many governments have created full employment for new graduates, how many governments have been able to provide full employment for their people?

If a country has only a few unemployed and poor people, it may be the people's fault, it may be because they are lazy...but in a country where poverty accounts for more than 50-70% of the population, it is no longer the people's fault.

Job opportunities can be created but it is very difficult and challenging for a country to implement. If the population of a country becomes a burden rather than an asset then surely that country cannot rise above the poverty line no matter how hard it tries. To make a country economically self-sufficient, the population of that country must be converted into resources.
