What will happen to anew user's account if he wishes to change his username after some months in the forum?

If the user has achieved a high rank in the forum, and choses to change his username, will the account be suspected of changing hand and be tagged for that? If yes how will other users know he is still the rightful owner?

You can't. You can try PM an admin and they may do it, but they usually don't. You can just create another account  with that name if you feel like you need it.

In this case, it is possibly hazardous to reserve the old username, since it allows someone to test for the existence of that username, possibly defeating the privacy benefit. If you're worried about being impersonated, then simply don't seek to have your username changed.

Anyone in the forum can choose to change his username whenever he/she feels like. There are no restrictions to that as long as it is for a good reason. Just in case a matter was brought against a member based on the fact of changing hand then such person have to sign a Bitcoin message to prove ownership of the account.

He has to sign a message on of the Bitcoin wallet associated to the account, if he had use multiple wallet then signing on all of them would make his prove solid.

There are things that cannot be changed, such as UID. This means that changing your username does not necessarily mean hiding your past history. Therefore, unless there is a sufficient reason to change your username, such as a privacy reason, it will not help you.

Only the forum Administrator has that privilege, The Admin will not change your username because there is a change of hand, because we are known here based on our posting behavior , our posting behavior history and accumulated feedbacks are what associated us to our username.

And if there is a change of username, there should be an announcement of request so the community will not be surprisedd of that username having their feedback on that account.

People usually change their username due to privacy reasons and making such announcement would defeat their purpose.
If you posted a feedback for a user and the user changed his/her username, it shouldn't be difficult to find out who he/she is.

in my extreme ignorance I thought that the username was not possible to change

perhaps it was a feasible cost years ago but now it is absolutely high, it should be updated and brought to human figures in my opinion otherwise no one will buy a VIP

Op, I have read that theymos changed the username of a newbie on request because the newbie actually used the combination of his real name and surname to register here. In this situation, two things happen;
1. Theymos changed the username of an unestablished account
2. Because of a privacy related issue
So, you can enjoy such privilege only if you can convince theymos.

Only respected/reputable members with a strong concern for privacy are granted the privilege of changing their username name. (Reputability is not dependent on X merits; it goes well beyond merit and rank)

Theymos has said it previously that the forum has enough money to run fine and so does not need donations anymore. So instead of trying to donate to the forum right now, you can look for people or communities affected by wars or natural disasters and donate towards such causes. If you want a name change, send a private message to Theymos and see if he will consider the request, though he likely may not.

You might be able to do it, but you'll need a really convincing reason to do so. I don't see any reason to change your name other than for privacy reasons. For example, I don't really like my real baptismal name and I also don't see any reason to change it just because I don't like it... just live with it and that's it... A nice name doesn't mean much, the reputation you build is worth much more.

I don't expect that a newbie or an inactive user should one day all of a sudden move a motion to change his username for nothing sake, same applies to any old existing members, because this is not dome by the numbers of time spent here, but the quality of what we have deposited to the community which everyone can attest to, then we must also be ready in giving enough qualitative reasons to why we want to have a change of username.

Every can ask to change the username but the decision will be up to theymos if he will approve the request or not. If a high rank forum members change name got approved would still be known that he is still the owner by looking at the post history but if you did notice somehow that is different like the posting ability then you'll know that it is now a different person who is using the account because the posting behavior is different.

Charging your user in the forum is allowed, but before you change your username something most be propelled to that, it neither be you want to change your username to your brand so that both will have same name, I think what theymos considered that most is changing your username to your brand, and you most ascertain some positions that will make you to be eligible and also your reputation can equally make a good path for you to have a swift response from theymos and admins.

Newbie requesting to make changes of user with brand, I think is suspicious because nobody knows the objectives of the newbies to have thought of changing of user without a cogent reason, and I'm convinced that the admins will not grant the request of such user, based on my experience, it's few people that has changed username and still it was noticeable, and did such base on their brand outside the community, so you most have a good reason to change your name, its not something anyone can achieve easily.

There is no guarantee that admin or mods would approve account name change for any new members, unless there is a very good reason for doing that.

It makes no difference if username is changed for high ranked accounts.
Everything is archived already and ID number of account is staying the same even if visible name is changed.
I wouldn't worry and waste time on things like this.

nothing, if they want to change their username they can either donate to the forum or request a name change from Theymos. to be honest if they want to change their username but their account is still newbie rank, it would be much better to just create a new account.

achieving a high rank doesn't really mean they'll be able to change their username as was mentioned before, they can either donate or for a name change from Theymos, and no, changing their username doesn't mean they will be suspected of changing hands.

It's only applicable for users who posted a few and become inactive after the change. Not those prominent users, even there's no announcement made people will notice it eventually just a day or two. Remember old quoted posts remain the old username in the post too.

No, the request to change your name from your initial name to a new name, the requirements that you submit are official on this forum, you have to pass several requirements to fulfill the request for a name change, maybe some of the members above have already said that.

Here, many account names have been changed to new ones, as far as I know, all of them are legal, in fact some of them have received praise for the new name, it's not what you think (accusations), if you want to change your account name, First you have to reach the Legendary position first and have the best contribution in this forum. If you only know about Bounty, don't expect your new name to be granted.

So try to be the best and top poster here, so that you can change your current name to a new name, for example changing money to gold and so on.
