This is a government implementing their own rules, so they have no choice but to take heed and follow what the government is implementing. The government of Brazil have seen the high level of ambling in the country by citizens and feel it is high time for them to start making money from the casino by making sure that any casino that wants license of operation should come to them. However, since they want to regulate the casinos, it is a good idea, and I hope that it will not only be all about their benefits alone but let the government should also monitor the casinos to make sure that they comply with regulations.

Something similar happens here in Italy 10-15 years ago.
Personally, Ithink this as a big defeat and a great disaster. At least here, with the fake promo "avoid un-licensed bookmakers" or "they don't pay taxes", they create a monopole with just few actors that provide the worst odds on the market, avoid to launch global options (like exchange games), avoid new entities starts to play and many many other issues.

It's an issue of ensuring that only gambling platforms that are ready to operate under the regulation of the government rules would be allowed to operate in the region while the rest that fails to comply would have to face being banned. Then, it is something serious that have been developed recently. You see that there have been no bans on games and online gambling there but then, with the new reign of new leader 2000 more or less casino gambling sites have been closed. Isn't that something serious for the gambling industry? I don't think that there's something to do things in order for their government because there's a recent news about Brazil that their government also have banned X, Elon Musk's social media platform the former Twitter. So, there's something really within about machineries and things that are operating online that their government doesn't like.

This could be for the interest of its citizens probably because they would have noticed that there was a problem and a menace that arise from the gambling industry and theis could be a regulatory step because I believe this wouldn't be all that is with the gambling industry in Brazil.

Can we trust those surveys? As I said, and especially in corrupt countries, the government will do whatever it takes to push what suits them. They don't care about people, especially not about gamblers and addicts of all kinds.

So they will impose all those regulations to follow everyone... but what you don't see is that someone who decides to gamble will do it anyway, as any drug addict will take drugs no matter how illegal the drugs are. So if not in a legal and regulated place, new black markets will emerge...

I don't think it's a big problem as long as casinos can still freely get the required license and then operate as usual. And then since there are regulations in place, users should expect more benefits like rehabilitation for problem gamblers, a more secure platform, etc. The problem is if the government just bans quality casinos and is in bed with a few platforms to monopolize/create cartels, then it's bad for users.

What they did was simply close access to gambling sites that they considered "illegal" because they did not register their services with the government as they had been told to do previously. So what the Brazilian government did was not wrong, because they only wanted to regulate the casinos that were registered with them, outside of that people can still access them using a VPN. And again there are still 200 legal gambling sites that can still be accessed by Brazilians freely, so they are still given the option to move services to those sites or use a VPN.

It will be very difficult to enforce these laws because several technological tools can aid gamblers invade these restrictions. Some law-abiding citizens will prefer to use approved gambling platforms since they enjoy government backing.

Well, actually there is nothing new about the case of Brazil. The first step towards regulations is getting rid of those who are willingly violating the new terms of regulators, those who wish to participate in the new market conditions need to get their proper license.
In the long term this is going to become a win for the Brazilian economy, depending how well regulators manage to equilibrate access to service, while not stepping down the volume of gamblers this industry has in their country.
I have not followed what the instances of the government of Lula are with comes to cryptocurrency, but as a rule of thumb most left leaders tend to frown upon adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, because of the lack of centralized control.

If thing go as they have planned, most of those unlicensed casinos will pay for their new licenses and will continue to offer their services, instead of going underground.

Maybe, one good reason is the crackdown of illegal sites, and thus, that would be in favour of their gamblers. To eradicate scam and fraudulent sites. As we can see, there are so many scam sites in gambling because the regulation is poor in some countries. Hence, the move of Brazil is quite useful to their citizens as they are just taking precautions of using fraudulent sites.

As we can see below news, they are still allowing about 200 sites to operate, which means, they are only removing potential scam sites, which is actually good for their online gamblers. It takes a bold step to do this and it looks like some countries are now waking up. Regulation is important in the gambling sector, it's better not to have gambling outlets at all than to have them do as they like without proper accountability and even pocket all the money without giving the government what is due to them. As for the government, the tax due is not justified if not used properly, sensitises/educates the people about gambling and protects the rights of the citizens/residents.

Are you sure that this is the case? Because you talk as if Brazil is the only place where lots of gamblers are gambling on the online casinos we are promoting, thats impossible, i don't believe that there are so many Brazilians on here compare to people from other part of the world.

Honestly, if Brazil is facing the same hardship like my country I can bet with anyone that the citizens already find their ways around, there are smart people in Brazil as well, they can just find another online casino that's based in a far distance and use VPN to keep gambling.

The only way the government can keep this under control is putting an end to all internet connections in the country or getting rid of computers and smartphones in the country, north Korea did it so Brazil can be the second on the list, if not, gamblers will still keep gambling in the country.

But at the same time, they'll still give time to these casinos to comply and agree to the regulations they have set if they're also trying to combat fraud, money laundering, and other sources of dirty money. It won't be surprising if sooner or later, they're also going to be strict with the terms and conditions that they'll set for the exchanges.

That is true and pretty much everyone can do that. But the casinos will ask for KYC and if they're from Brazil, they might just want these users to stop using them and get their money asap within the limited time that they'll give.
