I know I'm a bit late but I just accessed an old email and realized I had some BTC left on MtGox. I guess it's too late to file a claim? Does anyone have the database leak so I can confirm how much I had left?

You can check this article Mt. Gox Postpones Repayment Deadline to 2025 that has a link to an official guide from Mt.Gox.

Notice Concerning Change of Repayments Deadline . You can read the full document for more details about their Rehabilitation Claim Filing System.

I am unsure and don't understand your question, data leak as proof to claim your bitcoin. It sounds ridiculous because you need more than a Bitcoin address to claim you are actual owner.

For any inquiries, please log into the MTGOX Online Rehabilitation Claim Filing System (i.e., the system accessible via https://claims.mtgox.com/; the “System”) and use the inquiry form accessible from the “FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)” button in the upper right corner of the screen.

From the MtGox claims website (https://claims.mtgox.com/):
Quote
Please note that the period for filing proofs of rehabilitation claims in the Civil Rehabilitation Proceedings ended on October 22, 2018 (Japan time). Therefore, Users can no longer file proofs of rehabilitation claims via the System.
so unfortunately it seems that it's too late to file a claim...

Thanks for the link. I just wanted to check how much BTC I had in my account as I am not entirely sure (and if the amount is too small, I won't bother with the claim).

It does sound like that but the fact that they precise "via the System" gave me hope that it might still be possible in person or via a lawyer, etc.

Keep us updated on the situation! But I do think that it's probably a lost cause.

I understand dude, but you can’t check how much is in your account since the exchange is no longer around, and the claiming process took place back in 2018.  It’s unfortunate that you’re just now discovering this. We often remember our holdings only when their value spikes. Just a heads up, the repayment will be in fiat, not in BTC, and back then, Bitcoin was really cheap--less than $500.

For OP, just a quick tip, be careful here, some users may already send you a message about helping you to claim, but for sure all of them will just try to scam or steal from you. Avoid sharing some personal information online. If they want to help you, they will write a message here in the thread not send you a personal message.

Totally agree.
It may sound good on the outside, but the reality would be different.
Some people do be fishy  Cry And use others' misfortune for their own gain.

What usually happens here is newbies end up scamming other newbies, and sometimes they even manage to scam older members with higher ranks. OP should wait and see what the majority says, but I’m sure many will still chime in on this thread with their thoughts. As for my take, OP should probably stop hoping to get their Bitcoin (money) back since the deadline has passed.

Yeah, though I do think the ratio of scams regarding older members is lower, it's still there.
Hopefully, OP will be able to get out of this situation eventually, and if not - that's a shame, but he should move forward.
