Never been a bounty hunter but I have come across threads about it and would say it's not really something one can peg on.
Be patient and grow your account in alignment with the rules of the forum.

If you ask me, I would say yes. But there could be some projects that may end up paying you. You have to choose your project wisely. You will see some projects that are offering stakes in their own project, which is not listed anywhere. Even if they end up paying you these tokens, You can't really sell them and cash out your money until they get listed on some Dex or CEX.

If any project offers payment in stable coins like USDT or Bitcoin, and a known campaign manager starts the bounty thread, you can try it. But, if you do not find any projects like this, you will probably waste your valuable time doing their tasks. Instead, focus on the other side of the forum.

i don't know if its okay to say this but if you will ever join a bounty it's just right to do make a research of a project, if its helpful to the community and crypto space, for sure it will be worth-it, you should focus on growth at the moment because once you have learn and gain knowledge, skills you will know what projects are great and worth you're effort good luck.

as long as it relates to bounty at this stage in the forum, it doesn't require much research before knowing which of them is reputable and most of them don't even require the service of somehow that has grown well in the forum. @Learn Bitcoin has said it all and that's just the best way to know if a project is worth your time or not. If you've been involved in bounty in the past you will know some bounty managers that are quite reputable. If they are the ones in charge of the bounty campign, it has already sent a signal that you're likely getting involved in a campaign that will pay well. If they are also paying thier token in USDT or a coin that has a value on an exchange, you're at least sure that your allocation will be useful and that you won't have to wait for so long till when whatever medium they choose to pay you through gets listed.

The way to do bounty now is almost like the way you do Airdrop. Even though your expectation is to get good pay from it, don't put too much hope in them. You could just do it with the hope that it might pay or might not pay.

I say depends. If youre gonna do it in here in forum mayne yes it is. But if you are doing it outside this place maybe theres a good reward for you.

Id given up bounty in here since not worth my time to do some. Often you found some scam and not legit projects or just using members here for their promotions and in the end will give you worthless compensation.

Why not focus on bigger picture like how to gain more merits than most newbies here. Something like that.

Avoiding it or not is a preference of each user, the number of users who still join bounty programs shows that they still get benefits & are worth the time they have spent. If you are from a first world country, it will definitely be a waste of your time, but if you are from a third world country, the results obtained from there may be meaningful to you.

Depends how precious your time is. If you know for your self that you don't have any time to waste with those campaigns that doesn't have any guarantee to pay then better not to join any of it. But if you can take a risk to participate since you have plenty of time to spend and you can join as many as you want especially if you join on social media campaigns then maybe I can say that its good to try.

Since somehow we don't know what will happen in future and its good that somehow we do something especially for new project around to possibly get some share with them. Maybe for now the best thing you can do is to exert more effort upon doing research and know what are best opportunities to take. Since earning in forum is not all about bounty campaigns since there are so many things to try here.

This reminded me of studentcoin or so on this forum. The participants in the campaign were expecting huge return but when the coin wanted to be launched, it turned out that it is a scam. There are many of them that were scam. People worked for them but nothing in return.

It is never right to waste your valuable time for bounty. If you value your time then I think it is better for you not to do the bounce. If you think you have enough time to do bounty and doing bounty will not waste your time then you can spend time on bounty. Because I think bounty is better than wasting time elsewhere. Because there are two types of possibilities to get or not to get bounty. So whether the bounty is wasteful or not will determine your position.

But you can take some precautions while doing bounties. For example, bounties can be managed by trusted or known managers. Or you can choose bounties that are paid in USDT or Bitcoin or stablecoins. I find it profitable to avoid bounties that are paid by coins that are new to the market or will be listed. If a newbie has opened a bounty thread I also recommend avoiding them. Finally, if you have the ability to select the right bounty, then bounties are not a waste of time for you

I don’t want to generalize so quickly and just condemn all bounties because I think there are still some good bounties though very few that are good as compared to past times and that’s because a lot of those projects only end up as scams and that’s not good one.
In recent times, bounties have seem to be more of a waste of time as most of the bounty campaigns end up as scams and some also end up been abandoned maybe due to several reasons even if the intentions were genuine.

Now seeing bounties with rewards is not as commodious anymore, even with a lot of fraud from the project there are still many just not caught by us.
It's your choice, but I've noticed that newbies are still joining bounties, maybe they still expect decent rewards.

IMO, airdrops are more profitable in terms of rewards than bounties here.

That's what I'm afraid of. Back in 2017 you could join multiple bounty campaigns and, although some/many of them wouldn't pay or would pay really badly, you compensated the time lost with the earnings from a few successful ones. But since I almost haven't participated in bounties since the year you mentioned, although I can't be sure of the end, I have founded suspicions that you are right.

Maybe if I had a lot of free time and nothing more to lose I would give them a try nowadays, but this is even a more risky strategy than back in 2017-2018, when nobody guaranteed you would get a good return for the time invested.

Very correct, bounty in recent time have become a total waste of time, and it returns worthless or even nothing and for sure I identify two variables that are responsible for the current worthless position of bounties, and those variables can be point to two of the below mentioned points.

To many bounty hunter scrambling to share limited bounty allocation there by making the reward at minimum level, let say if a team set aside $3000 for bounty rewards, and bounty participants that promote the project is somewhere around 200 participants a d various promotion means to divide the allocation, this will make the bounty sharing to be very small because some will e d up with rewards around $10 highest, unless unlike in the past when only few bounty hunters were available and open to participate in bounty.

Next we talk about the issue of scam projects coming up with bounty campaign just to get free promotion and ending up not paying their participants, this is another big virus in the bounty market that have made bounty to become worthless and total waste of time.

Many and more questions of this kind. But it all depends on what you want and what you are able to give(sacrifice). The reason I have never been part of the above is because the reward is not known. If there's a fixed and known reward, I'll ensure I complete my task to claim the said reward. But since nothing is sure, I don't like the gambling.

There are still bounties that really pay their participants but you can hardly find that do that. Most of them are not paying so it's entirely a scam or a failed bounties. As others have explained, the rewards are unknown so it depends on what you are going to sacrifice. If you found paying bounty and have many participants then the  rewards will be reduced per participant due to the allocation of the reward that will be given. Many bounties have given a total of how much they will give as a reward to that bounty.
