I read this article from BitcoinOS https://www.bitcoinos.build/blog/bitcoinos-the-ultimate-upgrade-to-bitcoin

Sounds a bit marketing-y, being very concerned about bitcoin's scalability issues, I have serious doubts, however I'd be very happy to know if what they say is true.

What do you think?

Sorry if there is already another topic on BitcoinOS  Embarrassed

What do you think?

I only briefly read link you shared, but it seems to be another Bitcoin Layer 2. You can see https://www.bitcoinlayers.org/ for list of Bitcoin Layer 2 and similar non on-chain network. The blog doesn't mention how they achieve how they achieve decentralization, such as who submit the proof data on Bitcoin on-chain or who can run/verify the L2 network.

On the link that you posted, it is said that BIPs are a failure. Right from compressed legacy private keys, to segwit with 42 - 50% onchain fee reduction. Just know that many things are considered that makes the onchain fee the remain what it is today and not a failure.

But if you proposed a layer that the fee will be little and the transaction will be fast, it is not bad. I can see that you are not ready for any BIP and it will just be like those side chains but which you want to differentiate this from by also included that sidechain are failures because they have centralized federations. I do not know what zero knowledge proof is but I am certain that you are not different from side chains.

What do you think?
BitcoinOS is an earth-shattering development threatening radical change to the entire crypto industry.
Lol. That's what I think. They can join the long line of thousands of other "projects" that were going to disrupt an industry. Except that it never happened.

The whole point of an Operating System is that you can run many different programs. There's a reason to separate those things.

That being said, not very much a game-changer at all, but a nice alternative to the other L2 systems. But it's not going to get anywhere without an ecosystem developed around it. See, the reason why we're all talking about Lightning Network is because lots of people have put in the effort to make clients, wallets, infrastructure, sites, and other programs and protocols for it.

So other L2s would need to put in that legwork as well.
