Bitcoin needs a long-term investment to realize a good profit but there are some investments that can outmatch the profitability of Bitcoin in just some weeks or months, all it needs is the right timing on investment and selling.  I am saying this in reference to the current percentage growth of Bitcoin and not the price of Bitcoin from the beginning to date.

I believe it is much better to say that Bitcoin is the safest cryptocurrency investment since Bitcoin has solid liquidity, a very secure network, and is recognized by many countries.  I also think that there will be much argument whether Bitcoin is the most profitable investment since we all know that there are other cryptocurrencies that can give much higher percentage yield than Bitcoin does in the current time.

I'm not a fan of gold, but from what I've observed, most people really like gold. Just talk about a necklace, watch or some other gold thing that people go crazy wanting to have, and the rich love to have gold bars in their vaults. As if they were preparing for some kind of global economic crisis. So I see that gold will remain attractive for many years to come, and as the years go by, gold will become more valuable. Just like bitcoin, as the next few years go by, bitcoin will become more valuable, which is why buying bitcoin and gold now and hodling them for many years is a good idea.

Different comparisons are used depending on the timeframe. For the OP, it’s year-to-date, and when the thread was created, Bitcoin was still at $68k. Now that it’s over $90k, it only strengthens the claim that it’s the most profitable investment this year. Just imagine what could happen next month, historically, December has always been a bullish month during past bull runs. Some experts are even predicting $100k this month, and who knows, $200k by December might just be possible. Exciting times ahead guys..

The thread is about Bitcoin growth from when it was created until date. The other cryptocurrency that you're talking about that'll outperform Bitcoin wouldn't have the lifespan of Bitcoin. Many of them are going to die before the year ends and the rest, in the next bull market we're not going to see them again. Many altcoins are being created and getting listed on top exchanges, making the early and fast investors lots of profits but after all the hype begins to fade away, the altcoins become useless and all those that couldn't sell early will lose. Don't go after quick money but end up losing the capital that you have invested. Investing in Bitcoin can still give you profit with little patience because Bitcoin isn't going to be forgotten as the other cryptocurrency that you're referring to and in some years to come, you'll be profitable too as those that invested early in Bitcoin did.

Actually if you do really be able to zoom out then you could really be able to determine into those investments on which it will really be that not really just that basing up only with Bitcoin but also in other

I think you mean Bitcoin correction from $20,000 to $10,000 in 2018 from 2017 ATH, and from $10,000 it falls more to $6,000 that was considered as a solid bottom for entry, then no war but Covid-19 force Bitcoin to crash from $6,000 to about $3,000.

I experienced this market since 2017 and that means this cycle is my third one in Bitcoin market. The common mistake I saw people made is they wanted to wait for lower price, lower price and don't know what is their entry. Then they missed very good prices for entries, many times in bear market that lasts for about 2 years. Hence, when market bottomed out and started its rally, they regretted their mistake and hesitation to buy cheap bitcoin. They repeated it cycle by cycle and wasted many good chances.

From $15,000 to 2021 ATH, it's four-fold increase and ROI is very good, no reason to hesitate with $15,000 but I know many people were fearful and missed it.

Not all bitcoin holders can optimize their profits as we have different entry and exit points in this market. The profitability depends on your buying price as well as when will you sell it to the market.
Hence, we can't generalize its profitability. I can understand for some, if this investment gave them good profits. Hmmm, well first off in my lifetime my best two "investments" hands down are bitcoin and semiconductors.  A decade ago I was telling everyone to buy bitcoin ( as I've stated many times, I was truly in love with it's technology, and the upside investment wise was a bonus) and to buy Nvidia and other semiconductors (mainly the Semi ETF SOXX). 

We will NEVER get another opportunity like this in our lifetimes.  This kinda sucks, but at the same time I'm glad I was able to get in pretty early.

Crypto is a market that is very much Bitcoin centric and these alts only go up when Bitcoin go up and vice versa. Alts are for short term, as new alts keep coming up every week or month. Interesting overview and you made a valid point here mentioning that they compare "asset classes" and if you will, you could add that this is about asset classes of certain sizes that are somewhat established and are not considered a gimmick. Because otherwise you could probably find some trash coin that made 6x since the beginning of the year. Some low market cap penny crypto that went up 1000% until YTD.

This overview in the chart does make sense with respect to the assets they chose. You could as well include art, but then it again becomes obscure. DOGE does have a market that is liquid and all that, but it doesn't really fit into the category as they aggregate assets like "Small Cap Equities" and "Mid Cap Equities". You would at least have to do the same, but this would end in an incomprehensible clutter.
