What’s going on with Altcoins?

Nothing much is going on with altcoins that is different from what ordinarily is going on with Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market at the moment, alot is happening with Bitcoin taking the lead as always and altcoins like Ethereum following closely behind in the price chain movement.

Altcoins are really doing incredibly well in the market currently and that is related to the general positive market Outlook that have plugged the cryptocurrency market in recent time.

But we still have a few coins that are currently left behind in the happening right now, and those coins can easily be identified with in the top loser's for the week because for any coin not to have performed positively in this period, it shows that such a coin is either dead already or a pumped and dumped coin that the team have played an exit one on the investors.

the answer is always because altcoin season hasn't arrived.

usually in a big pump of BTC like this, altcoin season follow a while after the market of BTC stabilizes, all the capital still on the bitcoin, even the institutional investors ones. so it's understandable that most of altcoin just getting casted aside leaving it with mediocre performance despite BTC hitting new ATH as high as $80k. but I think eventually we will see some altcoin start climbing, tbh so many altcoin is doing breakout right now, maybe not too long until we see altcoin pumps.

Bitcoin always goes first, then ETH, and only then ALT coins.

Same goes for this bullrun. Bitcoin has just recently started consolidating, bringing the price of ALT coins up.

Bitcoin pumps like mad - doing really well (latest pump) while Altcoins not only NOT pumping harder, but on contrary their price goes down…? I mean - WHY??

For example, if you examine the Dogecoin chart in recent weeks, you will see how it has increased.
Some altcoins have not even moved, there are exceptions like this. You have also mentioned the reason, there is no rule that every altcoin will increase in every season, it has never happened.

From my own view, there are lots of reasons that could amount to Bitcoin pumping well and alt-coin not moving alongside. Firstly, most times alt-coin don't pump well when BTC is pumping, they wait for BTC to gain stability at a certain price (Ranging) before they start pumping well. Another is the BItcoin ETF adoption which is not directly attributed to other tokens. But, with all this, there are still some alt-coin performing so well even more than BTC. Example, ACT coin pumped over 2000% on BingX within 24hrs. I just feel research is needed to know alt-coin that will perform well.

That pumping season begins when the bitcoin bull market starts and gets a strong momentum going. That is because lots of fresh money comes into bitcoin and then enters the altcoin market as well since newbies don't realize the risks involved with altcoins. That helps the altcoins pump.
You can see 2017 as the example of such a period...

What I explained here is happening these days. As bitcoin price shoots up, the shitcoins start rising as well. Specially when you look at their prices in dollar not in bitcoin. That's because even if they stay at the same price versus bitcoin, because of bitcoin rise their price in dollar goes up creating the illusion that they are rising as well.

You can clearly see this in all of them, from the biggest shitcoins like ETH and SOL all the way to the smallest unknown ones.
This event for some shitcoins leads to their dump actually. Which is visible on the smaller rise against dollar, like ETH that got dumped against bitcoin about 7% ever since bitcoin crossed $80k.
But for some other shitcoins it can lead to bigger rises like DOGE that actually went up against bitcoin about 60% in the same period ETH was dumping.

Everything strongly depends on the general state of the market. People's moods influence the market, greed and the desire to earn more money usually pushes people to rash actions and drives the market.

Yes, because cryptocurrency is getting bigger right now, when bitcoin price goes up, that means all the altcoin prices goes up too. Biggest reason for that is that even today most of the coins are still paired with bitcoin, some of them at the top are paired with USDT or other stablecoins, but most of them are paired with bitcoin and that's a good thing, we are seeing it change a lot and that means a lot to everyone.

I believe that the best thing could happen, and we shouldn't be worried about anything at the moment, it should be quite a well point without a trouble. I believe we can make some good return on this, it will not be simple but it could happen very well and we could profit because green will continue some more.

Those altcoin are not really moving like that and if you look at the rate at which bitcoin is moving and the speed can not be compared, but at a long run they will have to follow those prices and they will eventually follow the price of bitcoin, and if eventually bull run happens their is no way that it won't affect other prices, that is one thing about crypto is when something affects bitcoin it affects all. And this one interesting about crypto market, you have to learn to take advantage of the opportunity, crypto is seriously a good business when you know your way but you will have to be able to actually pay the sacrifice of gathering enough knowledge to be able to operate the market well and exploit it.

Quite the rise it has had the past month & week.

the elon's D.O.G.E really put a lot of attention towards DOGE as a meme coin, I can say that within the next few years DOGE will have non stop shill from popular figure like elon so no wonder people are getting FOMO'd into buying doge coin.
I'm sure other coin with dog theme will also follow its path.

the obvious answer is BTC dominance that kept increasing, indicating that the inflow of money just going straight to BTC and also people exchanging their alts to BTC.



just see some altcoins to BTC pair and you'd see easily most of them losing their value.
