This is a common question in the crypto space, especially for newcomers. Several features make a wallet effective, and the best choice depending on the user’s needs. For instance, MetaMask supports Ethereum but not Solana, so users wanting access to Solana Web3 services would need a wallet like Solflare or Phantom. Other popular options include Trust Wallet and Bitget Wallet.

Some wallets offer innovative features, integrating multiple services such as multi-chain support, dApp integration, ease of use, transparency, & openness.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any wallet recommendations for others to try?

I don't heard any other web3 wallet that support all networks if this is all about Solana then only use the recommended one which is Phantom wallet.
I also use Bitget wallet for most of my NFTs including Solana and dApp.

So I am not sure if we can find a wallet that supports all chains, including Solana and ETH, but based on my experience, Bitget appears to support the majority of the network.

Top most should be if the source code is open or closed.
I also prefer web3 wallets that filter out spam and scam tokens. This prevents the newbies from falling victims of scam. To be honest, it's hard to get an all round multichain web wallet, so I just get different wallets for different chains that are not compatible.

ease of use, transparency, & openness.
Which web3 wallet is hard to use nowadays? I don't think ease of use is a good feature to sell. I believe most altcoin users would expect that as the minimum requirement to try a new wallet.

I agree that giving recommendations is hard if we don't know what somebody wants. Even if a new wallet comes there's no urgency to move to the new apps asap, especially if your old wallet runs just fine (plus open source, updated regularly, etc).

Isn't it better not to rely on one wallet with all your wealth? I don't know why many people try to search for a wallet that contains all cryptocurrencies even if it is less secure or less downloads/reviews. Hardware wallets are almost the only option to support most cryptocurrencies and you can use open source hardware wallets, otherwise Unstoppable - Bitcoin & Crypto Wallet is the only available and open source option.

You've good options here though.

With the recent buzz around telegram mini apps, the integration of web3 wallets have become very essential.

Currently my preferred wallet is Bitget wallet lite owing to its seamless and interoperable nature with ecosystems like Ton etc. I'll safely recommend this.

Which integration are you referring to? Apps like Telegram have built-in crypto wallets or exchange apps have a dedicated dapp wallet? I don't recommend using a built-in wallet where your account is linked to your phone number or something similar. I've heard horror stories from people who can't export their wallet and lost their money because of that.

I don't think Telegram farming bots are the reason why people are using more web3 wallets, to be honest. I think the meme and airdrop trend contributes more to that compared to Telegram farming activity. I guess you could argue Ton airdrop farming is part of that.

Of course guys you prefer it because that's the wallet that you are all working for. But going on with the actual discussions of the wallets, that wallet is mostly seen supporting the telegram airdrop tap to earn projects.

So, I can say in general that these wallets that are being produced and made by the exchanges are really part of the circle of the current trend depending on the network that it is being supported.

The partnership that he's saying is about the wallet he prefers is mostly being supported by those telegram apps whenever they're about to release their airdrops.

All the mentioned wallet are quite good but Bitget wallet and perhaps trust wallet would be a good option if you want wallets that support multi chain and but Bitget wallet has seen adoption recently which could largely be due to it's convenience to use cos recently they also launched their wallet lite mini app which simplified the setup process without the need for recovery phrases.

I also used this wallet for some time and in general there were no problems with its use. I am not sure that it is the only wallet with open source code, but in any case it is well developed by the developers and it seemed to me that the updating of the support in the current state also continues normally. But of course all such wallets should not contain any large amounts in cryptocurrency and be used, as they say, for small payments.

No, Bitget wallet is a very bad wallet, it is closer to being a crypto exchange and cannot be relied upon for long term hodling.

You'll surely recommend it, because you are one of the bitget shillers we have on the forum, so fair enough, lol.

Back to the topic, there is nothing wrong in using different wallets, i.e. because some people want to use only trust wallet, they store both their BTC and altcoins there, and anyone with knowledge knows that trust wallet is not recommended to store BTC. Unstoppable wallet is like the only altcoin software wallet i can recommend right now, because it is open source.

I'm not familiar with Web3 but I have heard that Metamask is a good wallet. At least it's the most popular one. I've tried Coinbase on my smartphone and liked it, it was very smooth and easy. I don't have much experience.

Isn't it better not to rely on one wallet with all your wealth? I don't know why many people try to search for a wallet that contains all cryptocurrencies even if it is less secure or less downloads/reviews.
Think about it like, would you rather subscribe one service or subscribe Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Apple and others separately?
It's better to use one best wallet for each coin but it's a little clumsy. So, many people are looking for a wallet that offers them the most coins. Sadly, they rarely care about the safety, they only start caring about it when they experience hack or loss.

by using 3 wallets you can access about 90% of long term cryptocurrencies investing because most of them are tokens based on a specific blockchain such as Ethereum for example.

Otherwise, many tokens are not worth withdrawing from platforms or due to rapid technical changes and the possibility of freezing them, there is no benefit from keeping them for the long term and if you are an altcoin fan and looking for security, buying HW is enough.

Soon, your statement will be false due to Metamask Snaps feature. Basically it works like browser add-ons/extension in order to support blockchain not supported by MetaMask itself. I say soon since this feature is still on open beta.

What are your thoughts on this?

First of all, i would mention open source (or at least source code available) as one of many criteria of good web3 wallet. That means wallet such as bitget and Trust wallet are excluded by this criteria.

Looks like anyone can develop and publish add-ons. The Solana wallet feature is developed by Solflare itself[1]. I wonder if this means they're confident that their native wallet won't lose customers, or is this a tactic to expand their reach? Looks like they developed this in 2022. Hopefully, it won't be plagued with fake plugins when it's officially released. CMIIW.

Soon, your statement will be false due to Metamask Snaps feature. Basically it works like browser add-ons/extension in order to support blockchain not supported by MetaMask itself. I say soon since this feature is still on open beta.
CMIIW.

AFAIK you're correct. But besides fake or malicious plugin, there's also risk owner of the plugin silently changed. It already happened to some Chrome extension[1], where older owner receive deal where they receive lots of money. As for Solflare, i would bet they try to expand their reach.

This is the first time I heard of a case like that. I doubt an extension from a popular developer like Solflare is going to suffer the same issue though, unless they ditch their platform because they got a huge offer for that. Looks like Chrome is looking to implement API changes to prevent such thing from happening too, so that's good to hear. Anyway, MetaMask reputation will take a hit if they allow fake apps to stay on their plug-ins ecosystem. CMIIW.

A wallet that is supported by every dapp is priority of mine, this is what I particularly like about Metamask, it's there no matter which EVM dapp you may use. Also, one thing I like about MM is that it tells me what permissions dapp is getting when I connect my wallet there.
