Let's say I don't have access to the mnemonic seed, Is it possible to replace the screen? how?

my device still readable after connected on electrum wallet, but the screen dead, I can't typing the pin, and access the wallet.

First, get a display for your wallet, if you don’t find a suitable display, then order a donor wallet from Trezor, from which you can remove the display and take everything to a mobile phones or laptop repair service to have the display replaced. The wallet can be purchased for 49 euros.

I hope the first sentence in your OP is just a "what if" scenario, isn't true, and you are just looking for a way to fix your Trezor One screen. I would first get in touch with the Trezor support and explain your problem. Tell them you don't have a backup of your seed and ask if they can help you to find spare parts and the exact display model. I am sure they can't help you with the steps of actually replacing hardware components. You will have to do that yourself or take everything to an electronics shop. It then becomes a trust issue. But if you are on the verge of losing everything due to not having backups of your seed, you might not have a choice.

Have you tried viewing the screen under your phone's camera? Try with different settings, including night mode.

The problem I see here is that no one knows why display on his Trezor one device  gives no signs of life. This may be due to either faulty display itself or MCU which control this display. It seems to me tthat it would be hard for OP to replace both elements by himself ^{(even if he could manage to get the spare parts)}. The second mistake is that you didn't get a backup hardware wallet. An exact copy of the current one, which would be useful in situations like now. If the main HW fails, you could use the backup one. In the worst case, like now, use the components as spare parts for repairs.

As I understand it, you can't do without repairing / replacing the display here. Therefore, you will probably have to buy a "donor" with a working display. A long and expensive solution is to buy from the official store. A quick and cheap one is to find a used device on local websites like ebay. Replacing the display should not affect the safety of your funds in any way.

In general, you should be prepared for such situations in advance, so that your crypto assets are not "locked" in your wallet for an indefinite period of time.

It doesn't work even use Ultraviolet Blue Lamp on my camera phone.

the hardware wallet out there is very vulnerable to the environment. This should be a special concern for developer to upgrade product to more resilient, don't be vulnerable like  trezor one.

I don't remember the onboarding process back when I set up my Trezor One and whether you are required to re-enter the seed words to check if you wrote them down correctly or not. This should be mandatory in my opinion. The software should require you to go through it to prevent cases like this one and not leave it as an option. You can only verify and re-enter your recovery phrase if you have a backup of it. Throwing that backup away later is just silly.

Trezor Suite has a "Check Backup" option available from the settings. But that's not what I mean.

Good! So, you do have a seed, you just can't find it. Keep calm and think positively. Your seed is within reach, you just need to think hard how you stored it. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before you remember what you did.

I was suspecting such scenario as I believe that no one in his mind will be ignorant towards making   SEED  backuping. Good luck to find it.

After finding it you might be interesting in learning how to have multiple backups virtually on the open spots and at the same time not to be bothered about the safety of your SEED  phrase.  Feel free upon seizing this method.

Availability of HW in local stores may also be limited or absent altogether. In general, I want to say that for one reason or another, buying a new hardware wallet may take some (indefinite) time, during which time the need to access the wallet may disappear.

I believe that banal preparedness in the form of having a backup device is better than a situation where you have nowhere to enter your seed phrase. Or are you ready to risk the contents using "hot" wallets?

This possibility also exists. You should weigh the costs of your time and resources to repair this display (if only the display is broken) with buying a new device.

You are right but that does not mean OP made a mistake. I mean what you meant as second mistake. Let me quote you again and let me bold it:

What happened? OP was unable to have access to his coins. That is not a mistake. The mistake is that he did not backup his seed phrase which he can use to recover his coins.

He said later that he did back up his recovery phrase. He laminated it and hid it somewhere. Unfortunately, he forgot where he put it. He thinks it's between his library and safe, whatever that means. Going back to the location and looking at the possible hiding places should refresh his memory. It couldn't have been that long ago that the information is completely wiped from his head.

You need a microscope and very steady hand to replace the screen yourself, but I don't think it's worth it.
I like messing around and fixing stuff myself, but Trezor One already have tiny screen, so why don't you switch to something else.

He has no choice. Unless he remembers where and how he hid his recovery phrase, he won't be able to regain access to his crypto. In that case, all he can do is try to fix his current Trezor One, where the seed is already stored in the device's memory, or have someone else fix it for him.

Just get a Trezor Safe 3 and be good with it. I wouldn't bother to repair the Trezor One, except you can get a cheap used and still working donor Trezor One from which you can pull the screen to fix your own one. Be warned, those tiny signal traces aren't fun to resolder. You'll be surprised how shakey your hands are.

For fun and testing I built myself a PiTrezor somewhere in 2022 or 2023, but I guess this is a completely different topic. While it behaves like a Trezor One, I'm not too happy how a Trezor One actually is, usage-wise.

Go for the newer and more secure stuff from them if you want to stay with Trezor.

Hardware wallet manufacturers usually have some deals around this time and people could purchase those new Trezors with at least a 10-20% discount, if not more. If you don't see what you like from Trezor, there are other devices, such as Foundation, Bitbox, Seedsigner, Jade, etc.

Yes, you can order a replacement 0.96" Oled from Amazon  / ebay /  TB. It is not very easy, but if u get the right soldering tool (low 25 watt)  and use plenty of flux, should be ok.




Always check you have your recovery phase before proceed.
