You have once again altered the reference link.
Dude, please READ what I wrote above.
I AM NOT ALTERING ANYTHING, all I did was clicking a button via BPIP extension.
I guess it's not that hard to understand to any inteligent person, or I have to draw it for you and record process video  Roll Eyes

Not a fitting reason to leave a negative trust by any stretch of imagination.
Service cease and desist, shutting down github page of open source project just because name trademark sounds similar, is more than enough.
Attacking other open source projects, and multiple lies that your project is open source (when it's not) is also more than enough.

You're the one who posted an altered link. You could have just changed it to the actual reference link after finding out it was wrong instead of throwing a fit about it. Something like, "Hey, thanks for pointing that out, BPIP made an error so I fixed the link" would have been nice.

Not a fitting reason to leave a negative trust by any stretch of imagination.

It is not, at all. How does that action make someone untrustworthy for the purposes of trading? It seems like you don't have a grasp of what trust ratings are supposed to be used for, or else you are letting your emotions override your common sense.

I didn't throw any ''fit'' about it, I said the truth and I never heard about BPIP extension making a mistake, all I know is that I didn't alter anything and I am not lying.

Here I just did it again with one of the feedback from your profile, using the same thing:

NotATether    2022-09-21    Reference    Minted me some forum NFTs for $25, all went good.

If there is actual bug with extension I will report it for further investigation.
Maybe it happened after PowerGlove made some of his SMF patches.

Sure it does.
He is selling his shit and he is not being honest about it, while he is damaging other competitions, so I don't trust him buying anything from him.

I want to give you the benefit of the doubt.  I'm not an emotional guy, and if I owe you an apology I want own my to mistake and make amends.  What OS and browser are you using?

He is selling his shit and he is not being honest about it, while he is damaging other competitions, so I don't trust him buying anything from him.
Selling = Trading.

He's not intentionally damaging other companies, he's merely protecting his intellectual property.  That's a totally normal thing to do in every industry.  Just because bitcoin itself is open source doesn't mean that every hardware manufacturer has to give away his intellectual property.

Imagine a world where everything you worked for was open to anyone to take and profit from.  There would be no incentive to invent and innovate.

I see you finally learned how to copy feedback with the correct reference links.

 Roll Eyes

So if I understand correctly you tried to sell your forum account and you got scammed?
You need to post some evidence for this claims, something like screenshots of conversation with you and other account.
I honestly doubt in your claims since nobody in their right mind would ever buy account that was accused for cheating with so many negative feedback received:

I see you finally learned how to copy feedback with the correct reference links.
I actually meant (but then forgot) to stick up for dkbit98 about this...

There genuinely was a strange interaction (which I independently confirmed and then fixed) between the BPIP extension and the "Ignore threads" userscript by NLNico.

Here's my side of the conversation I had with dkbit98 about this:

I can't think of any SMF patches that might have affected the trust page (there's one that I can think of, but that one hasn't been merged yet, and anyway wouldn't have affected the markup deeply enough to confuse the BPIP extension, I don't think).

Still, I examined the code from the BPIP extension (v2.2.5) to see if I could find your bug...

I don't mess with browser extensions, so what I did was extract the relevant code from this archive, and then paste it directly into a web console to test the feature. I'm on Tor Browser, and the feature works correctly for me.

Here's the snippet I tested:

Code:
// Ha! Cloudflare won't let me include the ~40-line snippet.
// I'm not in the mood to massacre the code until I can get it past Cloudflare, or in the mood to ask theymos to disable whatever WAF rule(s) I'm triggering. Sorry.

Looking at the above code, there's not much opportunity for the BPIP extension to get things wrong, so, I'd probably put my money on some other extension or userscript you've installed that's doing something weird...

Your screenshot below looks odd to me (though maybe it doesn't to others; like I said, I only ever see Bitcointalk in its basic form, without anything additional on top):

All I did is copy-pasted link from nvK profile trust page via BPIP extension.
Here I will do it again:

What is that hyphen-in-a-box thing next to the reference link?

EDIT:
Sorry guys, I did some testing and I identified the culprit, it was Ignore threads user script from NLNico.
Ha! I was about to PM you with the same discovery.

BTW, if you'd like to keep using NLNico's script, then you can try replacing the following @include line (near the top of the file):

Code:
// @include       https://bitcointalk.org/*

With these three lines:

Code:
// @match         https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=*
// @match         https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=unread*
// @match         https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist

If the above change doesn't work, then the other way to go (though less preferable) would be to leave the original @include line alone, and instead add this line underneath it:

Code:
// @exclude-match https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust*

(I don't write userscripts, and I'm not up-to-date on syntax quirks and directive preferences between different userscript managers, so maybe the above is incorrect in some way; if neither of the above approaches works for you, then let me know and I'll look more deeply into it.)

I didn't report this issue earlier, but scumbag nvk continue spreading his toxic scamm energy everywhere.
He was very jealous that Seedsignerproject was gaining more popularity so he spend a lot of money and purchased a bunch of seedsigner domains, yes you heard it right  Roll Eyes

So, he's jealous of seedsigner, buys up their domains, redirects them all to airgapcomputer.com, where Emzy's positive review of the seedsigner is literally the fist link, and there's no mention of ColdCard whatsoever?  How does that make sense?

Where's the proof that nvK is the one buying up these domains?

Another red flag from NVK nutcase.
He created crap device that generated weak entropy and people lost around 500 BTC from their devices as a result!
Not only that, but he wrote something about that on his X account, and then he deleted his posts.
Pathetic.

In retrospect, I kind of feel like this thread should have had more importance.  I am sorry to see it go a bit off the rails due to personal squabbles, but I guess thats normal on a platform like this.  Still, I wish we lived in an ideal world where we could put our emotions and personal feelings aside and focus on the facts and pool our wits and resources to detect early warning signs that could potentially save people from major losses down the line.

When a discussion gets derailed by egos and side-arguments, the actual substance gets buried - and in this case, the substance actually mattered.

By the way, dkbit98, I think the current lost Bitcoin counter is already way past 1,000 btc.

I've a question to OP and would like to know your reasoning why you deliberately spelled words "c0inkite c0ldacrd" in your topic title in such a way that someone searching for keywords "Coinkite" and/or "Coldcard" won't find it when they limit their search to topic title?

IIRC, you also tend to write wind0ws when you mention it. No offense, it just makes searching a bit more difficult for others. Is that what you aim for?

Just trying to understand the purpose of such deliberate misspelling. I took the liberty to correct the subject title in my post here.

This Coldcard firmware coding desaster is quite a nutcase. AFAIR, didn't Coinkite fork their stuff initially from a Trezor code base, benefiting from an open-source base? Introducing such horrible errors in their firmware when they rushed(?) to replace GPL parts with presumably their own stuff AND not having a decent code base audit afterwards.

It doesn't really help all those who now lost their coins because nvK and all his programming minions screwed up badly.

Yeah I know, and sadly I am afraid that number is going to get a lot bigger soon Tongue

PS
For some reason website you posted is showed as deceptive on some browsers, and I wouldn't be surprised of NVK submitted it as dangerous... he is totally insane.

For some reason website you posted is showed as deceptive on some browsers, and I wouldn't be surprised of NVK submitted it as dangerous... he is totally insane.

Interesting... I also noticed that the site is now blocked by both the MetaMask extension and Google Safe Browsing. Someone clearly does not want people finding out the real scale of this massive fuckup.

There is a new domain now, maybe you can try it in Tor browser. It works for me.

I've just learned about this thread (I suppose I saw it at some point in the past but didn't pay much attention to it).

In retrospect, I kind of feel like this thread should have had more importance.

Yes, actually. Many of the answers haven't stood the test of time.

By the way, dkbit98, I think the current lost Bitcoin counter is already way past 1,000 btc.

This case will go down in the history of Bitcoin—and not exactly for the right reasons.

I don't mean to rub salt in the wound, but I hope DireWolfM14 hasn't been too badly affected by it. Anyway, I think it's time to either change the feedback or add another one as of today (I think it would make more sense to keep the old one and add a new one now).

He's fine:

I just want to know from DireWolfM14, how does it develop if you are still using this wallet?
I hope your BTC is not affected by this case.

I do use my ColdCard as my primary hardware wallet, but none of my seeds were generated on it.  I used a different method/device to generate my seeds and I use strong passphrases on every wallet, including the ones that are mostly transitory.  When generating the seed for my cold wallet I added analogue entropy as well.  So far so good, my bitcoin is still sitting pretty, AlhamduliLah.

Definitely a scary situation, though.  I feel bad for those who lost their stash and hopefully the hacker gets busted.

It is important to archive things and remember what nvk lunatic wrote back in 2020

Don't worry about it, there are more people than nvk, and they are launching a bunch new anticoldard websites Smiley

EDIT:
nvk scammer just deleted this tweet

Man, dkbit98 seemed to really hit the nail on the head with this one.  A lot of people put a lot of trust into this guy, but dkbit98 turned out to be right in the end.  I'm usually not for attacking people and making assumptions on their motives, but in this case it turned out to be exactly right (allegedly).

Kudos to dkbit98.  I'm sure a lot of people today wished they had taken their warnings more seriously.  Looking back at all the posts and actions now, the red flags are difficult to ignore.

I'm a naturally suspicious person, so read the rest of this post with that in mind.

There's more to this hack than meets the eye.  Think about who stands to gain the most by reducing people's trust in bitcoin.  Think about the skill, resources, and equipment needed to crack the encryption of 78 bits of entropy.  There's a big player behind this who's unlikely to ever be exposed.  Maybe nvk has been a part of it all along, or maybe he's just a patsy like big players are known to set up.

Anyway, I'm sorry that I have promoted ColdCard in the past.  What this has done is made me distrustful of all hardware devices, even the open source ones.  If you're not taking every precaution you can, you're just relying on others to have your best interest in mind.
