Bitcoin truly is a gift to the world but it could have helped so many more people. It's a shame that it only truly benefits a small portion of the global population. It could've changed the world on a comprehensive societal and economic level.

Any thoughts?
Gold, silver, and other precious stones are free gifts of nature, but only a few people own them. Bitcoin cannot be owned by everybody because a large portion of the global population doesn't even know what Bitcoin is. Some people still believe that it is a scam and will gradually become worthless. While others are limited by illiteracy, lack of basic infrastructures like internet connections, and poverty. The distribution of global wealth is not done in an equitable manner. "The richest 1% own almost half of the world’s wealth, while the poorest half of the world own just 0.75%".

If Bitcoin helped the global population, it means Bitcoin will not be as valuable as now and it might be worthless because these poor people don't even need to spend money to get Bitcoin. What's the point to have 0.002625 BTC if 1 Bitcoin worth for $1.

Although I do get benefit by investing in Bitcoin, but if I didn't participate in signature campaign and have a job, I will not able to have Bitcoin.

Do you mean Bitcoin as an appreciating asset or as a decentralized asset.
Not as how it changed lives of early adopters but its still making waves and impacts in the lives of more people.
The changes it could bring us granting Financial freedom and a means to resist inflation
Not creating wealthy individuals or society
That's more like an add on.

Bitcoin needs to be made accessible to reach all kinds of people around the world. Bitcoin will continue to lose its value if it becomes more accessible. Bitcoin is so successful because it is not easy for everyone. As you have planned, Bitcoin will need to increase the supply of Bitcoin in order for it to benefit the majority of people worldwide. If this happened Bitcoin would not be where it is today.

Majority of people worldwide can definitely access Bitcoin, but most people's thinking is not positive for Bitcoin. They think Bitcoin is a scam. People who are Bitcoin positive are benefiting from Bitcoin today. People are not able to benefit from Bitcoin because of their own mindset. It will certainly be a reason for happiness for Bitcoin and Bitcoiners if the majority of people in the world get into Bitcoin.

If you have $1 billion today and everybody in the world have $1 billion. That means you are not rich because you have what everybody are having which makes it not scarce. You will find it difficult to see someone to employ and it would be as if people do not have money at all. Let nature be what it should be for people to know its value.

Also bitcoin helped those that bought it. That is certain. Although, it helped beyond because if not because of bitcoin, no exchanges and other crypto businesses will be existing today which employ people and getting paid.

Any thoughts?

Can you explain how Bitcoin could've helped all the people around the world? By buying low and selling high? Do you really understand how the markets work? A financial market cannot work if all traders make profit and nobody makes loses. Imagine all the people around the world having Bitcoin. The BTC price would hit absurd levels, but the price growth would most likely be over. Who is going to make profits, when the Bitcoin price stops growing? Only the "bears". The people, who sell at a higher price and buy later at a lower price.
How do you imagine Bitcoin changing the economy and the society, when the blockchain can't handle an unlimited amount of transactions?

Of course, only those that have the believe in bitcoin will invest in bitcoin and benefit from it, because bitcoin is not free and nobody will force  you to invest in bitcoin if you don't want. Some people have the awareness but they don't like it because they feel it's not real. While some that would have loved to invest, don't have the funds or awareness about it. When bitcoin was as cheap as $1, people ignored it and many people will continue to ignore bitcoin because they don't know it's a new form of wealth.

How is it a shame? Is there anything apart from life that people have equal distribution of? It's natural to have unequal distribution of wealth and anything you can think of. Bitcoin is following the same path despite there's enough available.

Is there any resources that benefits the entire global population without working for it? Your hardwork will earned you the portion that you deserve. Normally, we already understand that wealth attract wealth and people with materials getting a larger benefit. It's a result of their hardworking and nothing more.

If you are talking about bitcoin investment here, although it can be helpful at some point when it comes to financial aspects, but seeing there is also high risk when you decide to invest in a volatile coin like bitcoin, that only prevent the people and develop fear instead from investing in bitcoin.

However, with proper research and patience, those who made long efforts in studying bitcoin will discover its high potentials and eventually decide to invest on it, while those who have always been doubtful and hesitant, they will never experience the vast benefits from bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a gift to all people but unfortunately, only a small portion of the global population that use Bitcoin. But in the future, the number of people who use Bitcoin will increase following of the popularity of Bitcoin that also rise. But that will only if they want to open their minds about the existence of Bitcoin and willing to learn more about Bitcoin. We know that some people out there saying Bitcoin is a scam and that is because they don't know how Bitcoin work and not know how people can make money from Bitcoin. If they know for sure and see the reality, they will want to join with them and trying to buy as many Bitcoin as they can and hold it for a long term.

to clarify and correct a few points of some posts in this topic

bitcoin is not actually coded/ruled as '21m btc'.. at the data and rule layer of the protocol everything is actually measured in satoshis.
there will be 2,099,999,997,690,000 units that can be split up
meaning 8mill population could have +/- ~262500 each
obviously no one in the world is going to have equal share but there are enough sats that everyone can have some

bitcoin could change world economics and send fiat into a tailspin. for instance if bitcoin was measured whereby instead of 1btc being priced at $90k it was priced at a international unit of 6000min-wage labour hours.. and then each country converts that 6k hour unit to their domestic cost of living amount in their fiat.. they can then see that everyone gets a fair labour cost access to buying bitcoin world wide.. and the side effect is that people can take advantage via fiat swapping via forex to buy bitcoin of a different fiat of a low labour cost to buy bitcoin cheaper from a low labour cost country and then cause the forex rate of countries to change until all fiat forex rates are moved to be on par with each other

bitcoin devs trying to curtail bitcoins transaction count to avoid bloat(lame excuse), but then allow junk data to create bloat(hypocrisy of purpose) to further curtail transaction count, which means that less people can transact.
however if we actually allowed more transactions and made transactions lean, without miscount/bypassing validation of bytes. more people could transact at lower fee cost. allowing more countries access to bitcoin as a affordable payment system.. right now the fee(war) agenda is causing less unbanked countries from accessing bitcoin.

the debate about full node becomes moot when devs allow bloated junk data thats un-validated and miscounted.. however they also pretend bitcoin needs to be accessible for everyone to need to be a full node so they have to restrict tx count possibilities
here is the thing though not everyone needs to be a full node to allow bitcoin to be decentralised, so instead of just 0.01% of US/EU being a full node(restricting unbanked access) to get 70k nodes they can have 0.001% of the world being a full node and have 80k nodes in far far more countries. thus more decentralised where by the requirement of node usage is actually 10x less per populous.. thus more accessible and more decentralised.

by the dev-politics doing all these silly games, they are not actually helping the accessibility world wide and instead they are placating to the elitism model of fiat whilst then pushing the normal people to other networks

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both researched opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Although I do get benefit by investing in Bitcoin, but if I didn't participate in signature campaign and have a job, I will not able to have Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not free, we need to work hard, need money to own bitcoin so we cannot say that bitcoin is helping or benefiting society. To be precise, we are saving ourselves and bitcoin is one of the tools we use.

Bitcoin is a financial market, and when investing there will be winners and losers, no market makes everyone win. So bitcoin will be seen as a savior for those who know how to use it to make profits but on the contrary, those who lose money will not be able to say that bitcoin is helping them.

It only benefits the mass of people who believed in it and held longer than those who sold, or used theirs for fun.. I actually wished I was amongst the earliest adobters of this great technology. It would have been a life changer for my generation.. though as usual no one can predict the future if Bitcoin would have actually turned out this great now.. you can see currently that world organization are now putting in efforts to also partake in this technology.. it might look small but Bitcoin is the face of the future financial systems.. a system where everyone gets to be their own bank and the government having no control of your money..

Bitcoin was new tech a decade ago, and not many people were open-mined to adopt it. Some even called it as a scam, a ponzi, etc. So, how can you say it could have helped more people when they were anti-Bitcoin? And this time you're blaming a small population who are open-minded to Bitcoin, and adopted it as a new tech.

It doesn't even make sense to see you said that like Bitcoin was not for everyone. I remind you of the people themselves who could change their economic status, and it's not bitcoin.

to clarify and correct a few points of some posts in this topic

bitcoin is not actually coded/ruled as '21m btc'.. at the data and rule layer of the protocol everything is actually measured in satoshis.
there will be 2,099,999,997,690,000 units
Bitcoin and its controlled supply.
How is the 21 million bitcoin cap defined and enforced

Some documents to read for OP to understand about Bitcoin supply.

Quote
that can be split up
meaning 8mill population could have +/- ~262500 each
obviously no one in the world is going to have equal share but there are enough sats that everyone can have some
Bitcoin exists for everyone who can work for bitcoin or can have money to invest in bitcoin, to get satoshi, fraction of bitcoin or bitcoins. It's up to each person to get bitcoin because times for Bitcoin faucets like 5 BTC for one claim from Gavin Andresen's faucet no longer exists in 2024.

Now, if they want to have bitcoin, work for bitcoin, receive salary directly in bitcoin, or work for cash, for altcoins, and convert it to bitcoin.

Bitcoin Equivalent Network Time is an interesting topic that can enlighten OP about power and advantage of joining Bitcoin market earlier than other people who will join in coming years and upcoming market cycles.

Have you ever though that bitcoin itself does not generate money. If there are those who have made money on Bitcoin price growth (I suppose this is what you call as help), it means that there are those who have lost those money. There are those who have lost money due to selling early and with a loss. Some investments were stoles. So not only it helped or could have helped, it also made someone's life worse. People talk about help only when price goes up. But think about other side of the coin.

It's funny how you say it. Do you suggest that Satoshi would have forced everyone to start mining Bitcoin the very first day he created it? Or maybe he should have created a bitcoin wallet for a lot of people and send in bitcoin to them. Anyone that wants to benefit from Bitcoin can still invest and hold till the price give a new ATH.

Bitcoin truly is a gift to the world but it could have helped so many more people. It's a shame that it only truly benefits a small portion of the global population. It could've changed the world on a comprehensive societal and economic level.

Any thoughts?
if you had mentioned ways bitcoin could have been of help to the brother region of the society other than how it has helped out at the present, this would have made a lot of sense. just like any other asset class, its only beneficial to those that are knowledgeable about it and that are ready and able to turn their wealth of knowledge into something reasonable. bitcoin has paved way for all the altcoins and meme coin we have now and with those in existence, we've seen project coming up that has help airdrop miners benefit from the effect of what bitcoin has done. within few years of bitcoin existence, it has reached the different class of the society far more than how gold or any other ancient asset has affected the society.

to everyone that knows about bitcoin and has the resource of investing in it, bitcoin is available for him and has been of great benefit to everyone. anyone that's not benefitting from bitcoin is either not a tech savvy or is just not ready to learn more about bitcoin,

Bitcoin truly is a gift to the world

True.

but it could have helped so many more people.

How exactly? We were hoping you could explain that so that we can discuss it with you.

It's a shame that it only truly benefits a small portion of the global population. It could've changed the world on a comprehensive societal and economic level.

Why is it a shame for a small portion of the global population to benefit from something they can acquire and use in the best way possible?

It's a wrong ideology to think that Bitcoin can or could help the masses gain financial freedom or get out of their financial or economic problems because Bitcoin is a form of money. I don't understand how one can have another form of money to benefit from when they don't have money in the first place. The small portion of the global population that benefits from Bitcoin is the ones who can afford to buy it, or they are somehow able to earn it by using their skills and abilities.

You can't expect people having no money, resources, or skills to benefit from Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies because it's not possible.
