This is a very good initiative. And it should be adopted by many countries. This is the best way to pass the bitcoin legacy to posterity. Assuming El Salvador did this first before they made bitcoin a legal tender, the result would have been so massive than it is now.

Bitcoin is a moving force and the future of finance. I have witnessed these types of movement in my country, but most times they are hijacked to shill their shitcoins.

Well, actually I’ve been in the Bitcoin space for quite a while now, and no matter how much I explain it to my kids, they’re still not interested. I think it’s just an age thing... matured individuals tend to appreciate Bitcoin more than younger people.

They might not be interested right now, but i am sure they would appreciate it as they grow older. I believe it is very important to talk to kids about finance in general, sometimes i wish i had some form of financial knowledge when i was younger, i probably would have had more money than i do today. Surely we do not expect the kids to be fully interested when you start the discussion, but as they grow older, the knowledge becomes invaluable to them.

Indonesia is one of the countries in Southeast Asia wherein rapid economic growth can be seen. People in the country easily grasp these concepts, and are developing rapidly in the fintech space. It's not a surprise if they are urging the new generation to learn cryptocurrencies at all given that the said space is relatively young and is ripe for the taking. These young ones will excel in the space if given the right amount of education, and if there are mentors that are willing enough to share their knowledge to them.

It's high time that countries teach the younger generations to be more aware on money matters, not only in crypto but also in economics. Back in my day, I had to learn everything from scratch, and I'm just figuring a lot of things just now as an adult when I should have known these way earlier.

It is common among these so-called crypto analysts or specialists to use Bitcoin as a tool for publicity. Popel will be told that they will be taught how to invest or use Bitcoin but at the end, a shitcoin will be introduced and people will be cajoled to invest in them. I once attended one of these Bitcoin conferences and we were told to buy an altcoin that would make us rich in four days. I immediately knew that it was a scam project.   

That is why the community should also help monitor the progress on these projects, and help put a stop to it right even before it taints the mind of the learners. It's highly likely that people are only using buzzwords and crypto to gain the attention of other people, then eventually use that against the same people they swore to help. Though because of that, people who are genuinely wanting to help are starting to feel a little bit disheartened because of the actions of a few people as they are also scared of being tagged as scammers due to their initiatives.

It's only the same community who will help build its next great minds that will represent them, so better be involved on these initiatives and be one of the first ones to put a stop to it if it's being used for nefarious intentions.

I agree with that. Kids tend to remember things easily because they’re naturally curious. If they hear about Bitcoin at a young age and Bitcoin continues to grow in adoption, they won’t feel new to it when they’re ready to use the network or invest.

It doesn’t really require a specific age, educating them early is even better. However, it should come with the right kind of education, teaching them the true value and purpose of Bitcoin, not making it seem like a ponzi scheme.

That's right, most people here think that investing in Bitcoin is like gambling and it can give someone quick money. That's why the thing that must be emphasized is not only education about Bitcoin, but also how to invest properly and the risk of investing in Bitcoin, so that these young people not only understand what Bitcoin is, but can also invest in Bitcoin properly and the risk of potential losses can be minimized.

The core issue is the right kind of education but most of us just use bitcoin as a form of speculation to make a profit. What are we going to teach them while we are just speculating on bitcoin? Is Bitcoin really important and the only necessary thing that children need to know from a young age?

Honestly, as a father, I don't see any benefit in talking to my kids about bitcoin every day or teaching them about bitcoin too early. At that age, there are more important things that they need to learn. I would not expose my child to speculation or gambling at such a young age.
Exposing children to investing too early will not bring any benefits and can sometimes cause unpredictable consequences. What guarantees that they will only use bitcoin as a savings for the future and not treat it as a gambling to make money and neglect their studies?

I am not sure what is the main reason of these one but if their main goal is to make those children knowledgeable about bitcoin and crypto then thier obligation also stands to let them know how to handle the ups and downs .
also to consider teaching them how not to get involved in gambling .

They're too late, we already have Akademi Crypto, a project that mainly for education, mainly about Bitcoin, but in the end most people are in loss because the project now tend to discuss about altcoins and give useless signals.

That's right, most people here think that investing in Bitcoin is like gambling and it can give someone quick money. even though we don't have access to the kind of curriculum the school is operating with, what they might likely do will not be to teach them about investing in bitcoin even though there might be a shallow touch on a matter as that. it is going to be to educate them about the whole buildup of bitcoin which will contribute to giving the student a good foundation on the technology behind bitcoin and give them basic foundational knowledge on bitcoin in general.

a lot of us only got to know about bitcoin on our own or through friends and have to go through the labor of learning all the basic things all by ourselves and even had some tales to share regarding some of the mistake we made because we didn't have the right knowledge earlier enough. times have change and it's best to start encouraging the younger generation to get themselves equipped with relevant information and knowledge of the technology that is now controlling the world. as long as financial literacy is concerned, without gaining the knowledge of bitcoin, whatever knowledge you have gathered is never enough.

A foundation called Taruna Bakti in Bandung, Indonesia has taken the initiative to educate 700 secondary school students in Indonesian secondary schools about Bitcoin.  Maybe that's how Bitcoin is spreading to remote areas around the world.  If these students learn about Bitcoin from an early age, they will grow up to be much more experienced about Bitcoin. After gaining experience with Bitcoin, they can teach other people about Bitcoin.  

We have seen news in El Salvador that the President of that country, Nayib Bukele has taken various programs to educate school students in Bitcoin education to spread Bitcoin widely in their country even teaches Bitcoin to students there. This time Indonesia took the initiative.

Gold has also been considered a hedge against inflation for thousands of years, I find it strange that no one mentions it but encourages teaching kids about bitcoin. To be able to deal with inflation, we need to understand the economy, the concept, and how fiat works...it takes a lot of related knowledge, and just knowing about bitcoin is not enough to help us avoid inflation.

Bitcoin is just an investment and one of many ways to make money. It is not necessary for elementary and middle school students, at that age they need to learn more important things than bitcoin. I wonder if those students learned anything or if they got interested in bitcoin. It would be more interesting if they could share the student's thoughts and feelings about bitcoin instead of promotional images and videos like this.

Teaching students about bitcoin is good but we should understand that bitcoin is digital money, so learning about bitcoin should be accompanied with being practical about it because these students will just have a literal knowledge about bitcoin and by the time they might become independent and have the ability to invest, the price of bitcoin might have skyrocketed to a high price of which if they had invested as at the time they knew about it, they would have made reasonable profits when they become ready to fully take responsibility of their investment.

That's as good as bad it is, due to the fact we know what happens to things that are regulated or become corporate as time goes on - they become soulless husks of their former selves.

I don’t think that’s true, regulations are already inevitable, and it’s normal for a country to require taxes when people make money. I mean, there’s probably no country that can survive without collecting taxes. Considering Bitcoin and crypto are trillion-dollar markets, the government sees it as an opportunity to generate revenue.

After all, the main purpose of regulation is to protect the market’s integrity and reduce scams, and if they’re doing their job to keep things fair and safe, then it makes sense for them to collect taxes. But, of course, those taxes should be reasonable as nobody wants to feel ripped off.

It's a good initiative mate.. I wish such would actually be seen in my country. Though cryptocurrency isn't banned but the government in a way dislikes the whole idea and chase after most cryptocurrency platforms. They have to understand the basic now so when it's time they wont have much trouble knowing what and how to go about it. I think this is definitely a good initiative. But if they come forward to teach the students practically, then I think their efforts will be successful. But in many places it is seen that students are only focused on theory, due to which they are not able to understand clearly. So my claim is that teaching students of any age is definitely a good initiative, but they should be given complete knowledge. It will be more effective if educated adults and middle-aged people are brought under this education along with students. Because people of this age group will be suitable for direct Bitcoin investment.

Above all, I welcome this initiative. Because at present, if someone does not know about Bitcoin, then he will be very behind. He may know later, but if he knows about it earlier, then he may expect something good from it, which would not have been possible if he knew it later. At present, El Salvador has given the most importance to Bitcoin. The country is not very strong financially but has set an example in the world. I think different countries are gradually coming and will come and those who can quickly educate themselves on Bitcoin will definitely be able to benefit from all sides.
