Nah, I'd rather stick with my trusted online casino and sports bookie. And it will be a lot of work to gain a VIP again. (if by any chance there's also one in Polymarket). I have not even tried to take a peek at their website yet although I did hear about the news of their company being politically attacked because of opening the betting lines of the US presidential and then tweeting something that offended the losing side.
Anyway, I think it's just hype and maybe there will be gamblers who will test them out. But, do imagine what you will leave when you try a new one. It will be a waste of time, money, and most important of all, the wager. Some gambling sites have a rule that withdrawal should be equal to or above the wager so hitting a jackpot in a new betting site will be a problem upon withdrawal.

Didn't people flood to polymarket due to the casino bet not being available on other platforms? Pretty sure that wouldn't happen in cases of famous sport tourneys like NBA since those kinds of tourneys are always on regular sports bookies. I mean if you were looking to bet on some niche event that's pretty much outside of sports then I reckon the platform is your place to go, but if not, then the regular ol bookies we have would still probably be preferred.

I was very surprised when I saw that people are betting on the date of the third world war, whether it will happen this year or next. I wonder, whoever makes the right prediction expects to move to another planet ? How do they come up with such thoughts? Or do people still not understand that a nuclear war will affect everyone, and the winner's money will be the least of his worries at that moment.

I will add that only because there are such crazy rates on Polymarket, I do not want to participate in this circus.

Both polymarket and online casinos have their own advantages, for example in polymarket bettors can bet on certain events that may not be available in online casinos. And so with online casinos, you can choose various games that you will not find in polymarkets. But I don't think that polymarkets will have a greater dominance than online casinos - online casinos will still have dominance over them, the reason is that in online casinos there are various types of games that can be played by users, and they can also provide betting features the same as what is provided by polymarket if they want. The choice of your casino depends on your experience. Polymarket might have gotten some exposure due to the outcome of the US elections but that doesn't make it the best platform. The publicity it is receiving might phase out after a few months if gamblers don't get good services. What I know is that Polymarket has an advantage over other gambling platforms because of the unconventional bets it offers. There are other casinos that offer top-notch services than the mentioned platform. Except they keep improving in their services, I don't think I would consider placing bets on that platform. I know betting is for entertainment and profit, but betting on whether there will be a third world war looks extreme.

I believed many shifted on both parties, it could be from poly market or not because everybody has its own preference with their betting strategy. Sports as well will bring a lot of excitement but not for those people who has massive gambling choices. We can't stop them specially when they're putting a lot of efforts with gambling funds. Polymarkets fame is getting huge and I believed someday it will soon hit the remarkable history of mankind.

It's enjoying the hype after the presidential election betting fever but it's works like a DEX version of gambling platform and many are not that comfortable playing in a web3 casino because if they are, we should have many web3 casinos ruling the industry, but do we have one, its still the centralized casinos that are popular in the gambling industry.
Wait for several months more and we'll see what Polymarket will achieve if they can move past centralize casinos.

In my opinion, the peak of Polymarket popularity was just before the American elections, not after them. It was on elections that the largest part of bets was placed, which is not even comparable to other sections and now no section of Polymarket can compete with it in terms of popularity.

I have heard about  Polymarket but is never familiar on it. However, from what I see now while going on a research, Polymarket is also quite fun and interesting. And I should say even those events we aren’t even aware of, Polymarket will bring it for us.

However, online casinos and Polymarket serve different purposes. Although they are both gambling, but Polymarket focuses more on world events prediction while online casinos offer us games of chance that would give us more winning chances once lucky aside from getting entertained.

Also, besides of those points you are talking about, you must also keep in mind the fact Polymarket seems to be based as a company within the United States, that meaning they have to comply with very strict gambling standards and constantly be under the eye of regulators. On the other hand, we have casinos and betting websites which are registered and regulated by more friendly license issuers, for example those in Curaçao.
If Polymarket really wanted to have a shot in an open competition versus the rest of the betting market, then they would need to go international and have headquarters in both Europe and Curaçao, and that would be only the beginning of a long term strategy for them to grow up.

For them to continue relevant, it will take more than 15 minutes of fame thanks to the past presidential elections.

I don't think that's going to happen. Betting on events may indeed be fully concentrated on the Polymarket one way or another. But the field of gambling is still quite different. And this part of the entertainment sphere has been in the hands of the casino and will remain so. Therefore, I do not foresee any drastic changes in the near future.

During the election period in the US, Trump posted the polymarket poll on his likelihood to win the election on his social media app. This is what made it even more popular. Polymarket has been around since 2020 but all of a sudden its popularity has exploded in 2024. Online casinos has been here for a long time. Ploymarket isn't going to dominate.

What I can point out that Polymarket is better than other crypto casino is that it allows people to bet on event but before Polymarket came, casino like stake already started betting on event, Drake was all the platform spreading the fun to people. However, Polymarket caught the limelight because of this particular US election, either they deny it or accepted it, they some influence the market and since no registration is needed, it got many people attention, unlike stake that need kyc before you are allow to play.

I don't quite understood the ways in which regulations work and also license but if they are going to start general casino, they have to follow some rules and get some papers done otherwise, it will lead them in trouble one day. I think I've seen more than just bet on war. You will have no interest in most of the bets in poly unless you are somehow informed in advantage and have a piece of inside information that will make you bet.

Traders are also there to predict whether some coins are going to hit a price on a particular date. There are plenty of these on the crypto tab they have. But then if you are interested in this, we also have this kind of game in the forum. You don't even have to bet your coins, you just have to give your prediction. No risk.

This is a question of much on the type of gambling platform we are using, is it that of the polymart or any other one that does not affiliates to them, because when it comes to customers service support, many gamblers will like to go for the ones that know about and could easily reach on their support team in case of any challenge.

I’ve never used Polymarket but I was surprised to see it mentioned so many times as the main source for gambling odds on the Presidency. People were acting as though Polymarket was something special that could predict results. I’m not sure why it was singled out and elevated, but their team did a good job getting the name out there in association with the election.
