Every country almost has its own culture, but I'm not like that where you have to tip people when you win... it's an option or you can ignore it as long as you don't tell them that you've got a big win in gambling.

When I get a $200 win it's not treating anyone for me it's a small amount and won't be enough to share, and prefer a certain person to give it to.

Definitely not going to tell anyone that I won a large amount gambling... it's too risky and even gambling is considered bad here so it's better to SHUT UP than to tell a lot of friends or family.

Gambling winning is tricky question haha since here in Indonesia gambling is illegal and not many people know sho a culture like balato doesn't exist, if you tell people you do gamble then most of the people gonna judge you. So gambling winning is inner circle not much people gonna know about it.

But if you win sometimes your friend gives you a money snack or a cigarette at least that is what happens here in my village. Sometimes my friend gives the money to others so they can play hahahha.

For me personally, i will treat others when i got good money from gambling, because i think it is also their right to gain bonus, more over if they were with me when gambling, So i think it a must for me to give them at least 5% of winnings. Regarding the name, in my Country call it as "Cipratan" and when they got it they called it as "Kecipratan", but i think not all people in my country call so, but almost of them.

I don't think we were selfish if we don't give it, basically it's all our rights to give or not, but if we don't give it, maybe it is unholy lol.

I don't really like such a culture, what about when you lose all your money in gambling, who compensates you among the people that you give parts of your wins? Gifting your loved ones from your gamble wins should be a personal decision, it doesn't have to be a culture because people loses more in gambling than wins. Although it's good to let loved ones to share from your lucky fortune but like I said before it has to be your personal decision, not that they're entitled to it or a custom necessitates it.

It seems what is common in your place is physical casinos that is why people have to know you have winnings or whenever you win you do announce it so that people will know. Here we gamble more in online casinos and mostly international platforms through cryptocurrency and no one will even know you win unless you go about telling them. It is not too safe for me to share my gambling outcome with people so I keep everything to myself, both the winning and the losses. However, if it were then when physical casinos was a trend, then when major wins happens, we do tip some of our fellow gamblers to allow them also share in our joy and also motivate them to know that gambling works.

Are from Philippines bro? This is the common term here when a gambler won huge amount and giveaway to the public. This tradition sometimes is a curse since huge part of the winnings goes to the public.

I really hate this tradition since we are not obligated to share winnings to a person that doesn’t contribute to our profit. If we lose none of them will share your losses so I never consider doing this balato.

However I do an occasional t to the dealer and my manager whenever I won huge amount during their session.

I do this even now even though it's not in "money" anymore. I give my neighbor drinks (alcohol) and food while they are drinking and sometimes I will order pizza for them whenever I get a huge win in sports betting or slots. I've done that like 3 times already but they will never know where or when I won it from.   It's just me who loves to treat my family and my friends whenever I get a nice multiplier win.

Back when I was a kid this was a thing every day. From playing rubber bands and bottle caps, there's always that winner who would be asked to give some gifts to other kids because they are his allies. Something like that. It become a traditional thing even before that it's not about money yet and I think we carry it until we grow up.

In a smaller capacity, we do it almost every day and even in coffee shops we usually pay for several tables that sit next to us. I also often see those who win gambling will treat friends to food and drinks and I think that is a common thing. This culture does exist and maybe in almost every place we will find something like that, especially if you get a big win in a particular gamble.

But in a larger capacity we can't possibly treat people all the time and we only do it when we win at gambling. Moreover, when other people win, they will do the same thing, so it is almost impossible for us not to do the same thing.

That's not different to other country since the word "Tip" is also especially if they see gamblers winning. We could also notice this in the chat box of some casinos out there where people ask for tips or rains for those people who won a lot of money from the casino they are playing.

If the winning person don't know how to say know and let a lot of people get those tips then provably they would lose a lot of money for that scenario. This is why its better to go out silently and don't let those people who usually ask for tips go after you because they will just disturb your winning moment and just want to get some amount then leave you.

If basically the gambler gambles for income, then of course it is not right if the gambler is asked to treat others when he wins. Because after all, he himself has the goal of gambling as an income. However, if the gambler only makes gambling just for fun and when he wins, then they are free to do whatever, but the most important thing is according to his wishes. But if you mean Balato like that, I apologize in advance, because I only understand it as begging or asking. While in reality, the gambler himself has experienced many defeats before getting a win. I know in gambling there are certain amount of money a gambler will win, a reasonable amount, it is very common to show love to some of his gambling colleagues. But I don't really know in your country no matter the amount a gambler wins, even if it is small amount of money I don't know if one still needs to give out some of it? Is this a gambler tradition that is compulsory?.

Giving out money that is won in gambling should be willingly, just imagine someone who have been trying to win a game countless time and eventually the person was lucky to win, I think the money won by the person should be spent very well on things that is very memorable because it is not easy to win games.

Let me start by asking what part of the world you are from bud, its for no other purpose other than just learning about your tradition and culture, but then, if you are not comfortable sharing, I take no offence at all and completely respect your decision.

Over here in Nigeria, we have no such culture, that is, from the part of Nigeria where I come from, because there are several different parts Nigeria with different culture.
So the part I come from, there is no such culture, but all the same, when ever we have money, or money entered into our hands, it doesn't matter how the money came, we are expected to take good care of our family, help our friends if we feel like helping and that's it. Understand that non of this is mandated by any culture, but it's simply the moral thing expected of us to do.

Winning money from gambling is not easy, and let's not also forget that money was also spent and possibly lost, before the win came, and there is also every possibility that you only will win part of what you have previously lost before, this is why it's important to use money won from gambling wisely, set up a good business, invest for the future, its far better than sharing and squandering the entire money on and with family and friends in the name of "balato" 😁

Nah, If you usually give out money every time you win, they'll gonna abuse you, so no, I don't do that kind of thing. I may consider closest friends sometimes. There's another way to treat friends if you win, but not while you're still in the process of playing, you'll have to do it outside. It's maybe some foods or drink but not money. Different languages have different meanings, such languages vary from region to region. If I say in your country's language, then Balato, in my country, if someone wins the lottery on a gambling platform, no one will want it and no one will be given it. Actually, people of love understand parents, brothers, sisters and wife. If I spend any money, I spend it among these people of love. I gamble online, no one knows about my gambling except my closest person, my wife. Even if I win, my wife knows and even if I lose, my wife knows, but I will spend money on those who get joy and pain in my victory and defeat. I do not only treat people nice or help them because of my win on gambling but I also help them whenever I have any money with me because is good to be generous to people, so actually helping people shouldn't just only dwell on your wining from gambling because that's not totally an act of being kind but instead is more like being led to do it because of excitement, though is also good if that's your only way of helping others and besides I most say that there is a unity in the place you come from because those kind of generosity is very rare in some of the regions.

Giving a little money to others is good, like bringing us closer to positive karma or bringing us closer to further luck. But if it is done often, it becomes a bad habit in the future.

The bad habit is like when you get money from your work and you buy something luxurious, you will be judged by others if you win again and are asked for a little money. Well, that will be a problem that continues to occur when you don't give a little money, you will be judged badly.

So I don't do that when I win from gambling and the winnings I get are only for my family. Personally I see giving as a good thing whether is fortune from gambling or anything, I see giving as something that is worth it hence is something that will put smile on peoples face I love it, in the aspect of what you narated which is money made from gambling, I will give but that should be done wisely too, as a gambler the first I expect you do when you win is to keep some part of the money then go get things youve been lacking though it all depends on how much you made, after that you can do the needful by giving to people which is right, some gamblers in my communty do say that when you win in gambling give people from your fortunes because you don't know who will win tomorrow and as you treat them that how they will treat you too.
Personally I don't buy the idea of spending much of your gambling fortunes on people, atleast it should be to an extent because I believe you also need the money for personal use, so for me, when I win I do give people money from my winning but not extravagantly.

Does this culture also implies that when you lose in gambling those who are there would give you as well? Should you didn't get what I meant, what I am trying to say is that does your culture also work on the reverse way when you don't give to people as showing love they would gift you?
To me I don't see this culture as something bad harmful or very tight to people, the thing is since is something that involves with willingness and without applying any strict measure to see it as something good to give to people. Gifting does not mean you must give people all you have gifting is a way of showing love to people from the little you have maybe, for instance you can gift people from 10% of your allocation to various people instead of giving them all you have won from gambling.

If I'm betting in a shop or in a celebration, everyone will get to know who has won. With the advancement, everyone does it on their own, and there is zero chance of our winning known to the surrounding. In such an event, what's the need of sharing the winning amount with the surrounding? I'm not selfish, but there arises a question. Did they stand in my loss in gambling? The loss belongs to me, and the winning to be shared is not fair. Even in a situation where there exists a condition that I must share, then I'll make a calculation of my entire bets, and if I was on the profit, then I'll share from the profit and not the complete winning amount.
