if the video above is true that it is the 5th most efficient miner. only the bitmain s21 series is more efficient.

I received my mini 3 today.

The wifi dongle was not working for some reason. I was very much concerned, tried dell ethernet adapter type c with with type c to usb 2.0 but it still did not work. Finally a simple cheap usb 2.0 to ethernet adapter worked.

I am getting 555 watts in eco mode and 30.05 Thash

in full mode i think it was 820~watts at40 Thash.


The eco mode and night mode are very confusing. The miner will stop mining if in these modes the ambient temps increases to the target temp that you set.

rejection rate is whopping 16.6% i dont know why? ping is 85ms to pool. no pool exists in my country. I live in Asia.

the best thing is that it has auto on and off , you can put at which time you want the miner to switch on and off.

However the app login for pc is very unfriendly. You have to scan the image that comes in the webpage to authenticate unlike nano3 where you could just type the ip address.

This needs to be reverted back to nano 3 version

Atleast in nano3 you dont need a smartphone but for mini 3 and maybe nano 3s you need a smartphone.

I already have a nano 3 also. Working since nov 16 hours a day med mode doing solo mining BCH. I will first do pool mining with mini 3 then maybe change to solo for BTC or BCH.

The thing is very heavy. If it trips then it has auto cutoff power . They provide 2 power cords also. Heavy 220v power cord with circuit breaker and 120V   power cord with no inbuilt circuit breaker.

the 220v/120v power cord is rated 10amps. I had to order seperate cord as the points are not compatible. i am using 220v.

good thing i had ordered extra eterhnet wire, ej45 adapter, L shaped power cord before.


ALSO i am usinga fridge stabiliser to control erratic voltage wich happens rarely. its rated max 4amps so with 220v*4=920W max capability. 80% rule is 736w. I am using in medium mode. Can you guys give feedback on this?

ping hovers betwwen 68-95ms wired mode .is this good and good for solo mode? this is the best pool that i found which is closest to my country. But my Wi-Fi nano 3 original gives me 104ms

 


I think the miner is kaput.i had switched off my miner in night and switched on again . It shows 0 Tera hash but is connected to ip . The app gives error when I try to change mining mode .

Contacted Avalon support but this is a very bad experience . Paid 1100$ for this . Will try the reset button.

After pressing the reset button it is now working . I us to. Jangle the mining mode via the heater touch button.

A question . I am thinking of using an ups . Which minimum va ups should I buy. 1000va or 1500va. I won’t use in high mode only medium mode aka 550w. Want to save money in ups.

It will earn 30x0.00000056=  0.0000168 btc a day set payoff for 0.001 and you get paid every 60 days.

Better yet set it for 0.005 and it takes about 300 days to earn the 0.005 btc

The play is dca and hodl vs solo

The dca and hodl will be certain to pay every 300 days.  If btc goes up you could score 0.005 btc for sure and maybe in 300 days btc m is 200,000k and you have 1000 dollars

The avalon mini 3 makes wierd sounds for atleast 5 times in first 5 mins when starting the miner . Click cluck type of sounds. Like heating causes something to expand and it makes a sound . Doing it since day one but it is more pronounced .

Also I hope Canaan Is reading this . Please allow auto scheduling for on and off on perpetuity . If u set the timer, it resets after the on off operation is completed .

I will be honest both nano I got last summer are dead. lasted about 6 or 7 months on mid speed. which I find not acceptable. So I won't be buying nano 3s or mini 3.

Do you think 45dB is too much? In reality it's not much, it's the common noise of everyday life, of conversations. Now, of course, a constant 45 dB, added to the common 45 dB of everyday life, ends up being significant.

But do you think it is possible to reduce this?

I would recommend to get 2 Avalon mini . Will consume 2x800 and give 80t with home heating and it is very very quiet .

Don’t ware on Q. If you want to mine get ant miner s19k pro 120t.


My mini 3 does 41T at 820w at max mode but I am running at med mode at 543w for 30T . Making 0.0005 Btc every 45 days running 75% uptime medium model.
