I know we must have been carried away by the number of interesting football matches today in our favorite leagues. And because of that not all of us were aware of the incident that happened in the game between Inter vs Fiorentina today. The match was suspended in the 17th minute of the game. It was said that Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the field and was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital.

My attention was on the game because I had placed a bet on the game. It was the only game left for me, although I was scared that i would not win the game since it had been suspended i had a cashout that i took.

My question is a football fan how do you feel when situations like this happen in the field? Does it affect the way you gamble?

Also, will you aspire to play football professionally or allow your child to play football when you know an incident like this can happen on the field?

I also did not watch the match, but saw the news update on twitter and went to read up a little bit more on it. It is an unfortunate situation but some good news are filtering in as there are reports he regained consciousness while in transit to the hospital and is now in a medically induced come in the ICU.

The whole world, not just the football community wishes him a speedy recovery.

Something bad can happen while sleeping in your own bed, no point living in dread of the unknown, especially when it happens very rarely as it does in football.
Accidents happen in cars, but parents buy their kids cars regularly.

At first this is not just a planned incident, and again I would want to know if those player are not medically checked before allowing them to participate in game? Because sometimes it would scare people to keep betting on their matches because they felt that would be their regular methods or maybe people might think is fixed match.
For allowing my child choose football; well I can't really detects for them because whomever that chooses football as a career then if he is favored he can continue with his career, and of course many parents today are wishing that their children should be a well known footballer knowing the benefits of a footballers. Collapsing doesn't mean he is gone, it's either very weak or has exhausted his energy therefore he can be replaced and let others replace him while he gets his feet back.

Watching Edoardo collapse was very terrifying. Sometime in the past, I have watched some YouTube compilations of the terrifying moments where footballers collapsed in the field of play. Our health is what matters above everything else. Regular medical checks cannot be overemphasized.

When these types of incidents happen, some are not as serious as a player collapsing let's say injury during the game that affects the teams performance, my concern is usually on the status of the player rather than on my bets. I can always bet again even if I lose but the health condition of the player worries me.

It can not affect the way I gamble. It is normal for some matches to be cancelled. One of the common reasons is the weather.

Is it football that caused it? I have seen incident that someone that was just walking suddenly fell to the ground, rushed to the hospital but died. If my child likes football, it is good for him to be playing it.

Of a truth the end of every game justifies the results and this is what we are already getting used to, every match is filled with uncertainty, no one can can actually predict the exact outcome of matches, what happened was never planned hence no one has to be blamed, playing professional football is out of passion so many had such desire but didn't ha such opportunity of exploring their skills and talent, yeah i can allow or inspire my child to become a professional footballer if he so desired irrespective of the such incident even though no one is ever wishing that such thing should happen, indeed it is an accident may or not happened in the life time of a footballers, perhaps even worse situation can happen which we have to accept before making such decisions of becoming a professional footballer. However, accident do occur even to a common man walking along the road which make no difference with that of a person playing or working in the field.

Nothing new, when someone goes through the list of casualties as a football fan you start being immune to such accidents.

There are tons of deaths happening, especially in amateur leagues and in training, collapses alone on the field are so common that as I said, as unfortunate as it is nobody is going to stop gambling, many will forget it even happened, and it's the same for every sport.
The death of Senna didn't stop that many from gambling and probably 1% of the gamblers know that poor Ratzenberger died one day before, many have forgot him altogether!

The player who collapse would be out for a very long time. He needs to undergo more tests. If I were the president of that club and if it were in my power, I would mandate that all players undergo medical checks once again. There was a tweet that has now been stating that he was okay. But since it has been deleted I fear for worse(not death) but something else like him not being fit to play football again.

Injuries will always be there no matter what sports you are in. We only hope that the injury is not fatal or life-threatening and you can still recuperate from. We worry if something happens to our kid inside the field or arena. But if we are that cautious and scared to what may happen, our kids won't have that kind of sports but maybe only indoor games.

I never knew until this post, i will go search it up later on. What transpired and how did the match continue, was it a hard hit from an opponent or just a collapse, things like this happens and some don't make it out alive, i hope the player comes out cleared and be able to perform as usual.

Even i myself would love to play football, things like this are bound to happen, wherever and whenever not minding what you do, even in offices people collapses so nothing is said to be unusual, it might just be a little deviation from his normal state of health that landed him that position. If my child loves the sport and wants to go pro, then he has my full support, we don't even bargain for circumstances like this to happen.

I'm not a fan of Ronaldo (R7), but I'll respect him for one thing he's been keeping fit with, for over 25 years now - his diet. He's been made an ambassador of health care services and practically, the results have been awesome right from onset-- his early days with sir Alex. YES!!!... What happened in the field today wasn't developing because he's a sportsman.. I haven't seen anybody that exercises almost everyday, but collapses everytime as a result of it... Moreso, there's no limit to what you can achieve being a sports person.

I will be more concerned about the health of the player than my bet. Incidents like this happen once in a while that makes us remember that there are some dangers still with the sports. As more of this incidents occur, and although they can be unpredictable, I reason that more efforts will be made by sporting body to make sure that it's occurrence reduces.
I am happy about the health care and emergency aid to players these days, they can still improve, but before some of these incidents would have lead to death because of poor emergency response to players.
