I have never shared such experiences. If this kind of thing happened to someone, it’s a rare case. There’s no logical explanation but luck. If you believe in mad men’s predictions, you have to think why isn’t he the rich one? Or why aren’t other people rich? If some people have the ability to foresee the future, why aren’t they successful?

I am sure that if you give meaning to a prediction once or twice, you will win. But for other times you might just get it wrong. I don’t believe in such but if you want to then who am I to stop you? I am just saying that you shouldn’t expect too much from predictions of mad men or shamans.

It's a story from the storyteller. A passed-along story that may been a lie in the first place. This kind of thing had never occurred to me or even to my friends who were into gambling and sports betting. Why? Because there's a chance this is just an advertising thing that gamblers thought was a real story.
Who will benefit from a "word of mouth"? Online casinos and sports bookies.
You said the friend won the bet but there's also a chance it was just a coincidence. What if he loses? Will the story be different? I think we should also consider that result.

I have always heard and never had such experience. Your friend story with the insane man with the odds is quite intriguing because of the vanishing act that followed. It raises questions too.
There has not been any scientific evidence to support these claims. I believe cultural and personal beliefs especially ones that has been passed down the line from people before us play a significant role on how people perceive these experience.
Making predictions on games will always work on skill and luck. People should be careful of such people because one way or the other, it would be a means to get money from you.

This is not something new; I have encountered a lot of these types of people in horse racing offline betting stations; they come to you and they will point out what horses have good odds of winning, and most of the time they come out right. It turns out they have reliable tipsters that tell them what horses are likely to come out the winner, so sometimes I follow their advice as long as its also the favorite to win.

Idk, never happened to me, and I doubt it ever will. Even if it did, I doubt I'd ever follow it. Also pretty close to superstition imo. It wouldn't surprise me if it was just your friend's imagination or he's just bullshitting you lol. Now lets give your friend the benefit of the doubt and say it is actually true, since it's such a rare case it may just be an instance where the stars aligned and so your friend hit. Would just call it luck really. Whether it be getting to know the odds from the old man or winning, let's just attribute it to luck since like superstitions, luck is pretty unexplainable already anyway.

Possibly those guys you encountered must have gotten tips from insider and have knowledge of what they are really telling you if the end results are successful as you have said. Maybe they could demand some percentage from you if it turns out to be a successful one if I am not mistaken. In situations as this, they already know what is obtainable as they likely have insiders so one is a bit convinced but that of an insane person giving you match or bet odds is very confusing and far extra ordinary if at all one encounters such.

I do not really have any clues if such topic or discussion already exist before and if there is any discussion of such nature before then you can call my attention to it. Although it is something that I feel we should discuss about with we hearing our opinion and experience and how the result was like if we have ever encountered such before.

I have heard many stories and people talking about getting game odds from unknown insane(mad) people and some say they get it from the ones they know and in some cases, the games turns out to be real with lots of testimonies. I personally have a friend who told me same thing too that there was a guy that lives within their street who got odds from an insane man close to a junction when he was about to board a cab. He said his friend was just passing by when the insane man stopped him and told him to check out the odds and he was very confused, furious and a bit angered but he too has heard things of that nature so he controlled himself and collected it, he played it and won a good amount of money. Winning such, he went scouting for the insane man so he could be able to reciprocate the goodwill but he could not see the man and he asked people around there and they told him that they've not seen the man for some days and he was told that the insane man has been there for some days before the occurrence but after their encounter that day he was no where to be found around that area.

I was wondering if any member here has had such experience before or they know somebody who has had such as well because to me it looks like something beyond the ordinary, it is unexplainable how an insane man would give odds to somebody to play and in some cases, they are unknown within the premises or environment were they have encounter and the odds turns out to be a good one. Sometimes people tell about being given odds in the dream to play and they do which turns out to a good one for them and all these keeps making me curious about these scenarios if it is ordinary or not, coupled with the superstitious believe and lots of other things they say.

Well, though i sure believe in the supernatural, that is that the spiritual realm controls the physical realm that we humans dwell in, but when it comes to matters that has to do with gambling, it's really hard for me to believe most of such stories that fly around about mad people giving sane people game odds to play, which usually turn out to be the right odd...

Let me be honest, I've witness one myself, though in this case, it wasn't an insane man that gave the odd, it was a sane person.
I had a boss back then I was serving, a man walked into our business premises and handed over to my boss a piece of paper with game odds written on it, and told my boss to use big money to play it and then left immediately..
My boss being confused, threw away the piece of paper and someone else picked it up and then went into a lotto shop and played the numbers written on the paper.

By the next day, the story around the neighborhood was that the dude who picked the paper won a huge amount of money and was celebrating it somewhere, my boss was disappointed. The man who gave the game odd later in the day came by and asked my boss if he played the game odds, my boss told him no, that he mistakenly threw the piece of paper away, the man called my boss a big fool and left with anger.

Such things does happen, but I've never seen it happen with an insane person in the picture, I've only heard about such in stories.

I wouldn't trust, so thats a big no for me. well, I might try it out, but there’s no way I’d risk a lot of money on it. Sure, it might work once or twice, but the moment you get too aggressive, you’re almost guaranteed to lose.. I don’t even trust tips from people I know, so why would I trust a stranger or some anonymous person?

Honestly, if we really want to win, the best thing to do is trust ourselves. Simple as that.

I prefer to think realistically that a madman is incapable of thinking like a normal person. If he says something on any sports prediction, it is just a vague statement and if it comes true, just consider it a lucky thing.
It is impossible for me when a madman is able to give a precise prediction and I bet if it was done again, the result would be random or even lose. It is just superstition or like luck.

If I ever dream of game odds, I’ll probably bet on it. If someone (a mad man) also gives me advice, I’ll follow it. But it will all be for fun and just to see where it can lead me. If I don’t win, I’ll probably shrug and just say “told you so.” But if I win, congratulations to me first of all. But I would never rely on these visions or dreams to bet or gamble. I know some people seek these out purposely like they even pay for it. This is where I draw the line. If I got these visions for free, I’ll follow it. But I would never pay for something so I can follow it. I’ll just be wasting money.

This has never happened to be before but I've been hearing stories that people are getting games including lotto from insane people to gamble on the games. Most of the time, they use to end up winning huge amounts of profits from the games but I see this as an extra ordinary might from these kind of people. It seems gambling is getting to the supernatural level where insane people can actually predict what in happen in gambling and in the real world. Many of the gamblers that have been fortunate from making good profits from these games are always searching for insane people so that they can keep getting games from them.

I may have never stumbled upon this kind of topic here, but I for sure heard of this in my personal experience. Hobo's are so rampant here in my country and most of them are not sane. They talk nonsense all day, sometimes they answer with a little sense when you ask them. And so, some gamblers started asking questions about lottery combinations, odds, who's team are gonna win or who's fighter is gonna win and everything else about gambling. I'm not sure if those people got a good outcome, but that's just crazy to depend your bet on someone who can't even think with sanity lol.

Why gambling discussion is full of superstition now?

Gambling in mosque, church, shrine etc in order to increase luck to win.
Gambling in casino with red color since red color is a symbol of luck.
And now getting games odds from insane people.

Will the next version is using the time or birth date of someone has passed away?

I prefer to think realistically that a madman is incapable of thinking like a normal person. If he says something on any sports prediction, it is just a vague statement and if it comes true, just consider it a lucky thing.
Exactly, someone that lucky can win streak without any reason, it's just because of luck, nothing else.

And so, some gamblers started asking questions about lottery combinations, odds, who's team are gonna win or who's fighter is gonna win and everything else about gambling. I'm not sure if those people got a good outcome, but that's just crazy to depend your bet on someone who can't even think with sanity lol.
Gamblers should be careful with what they believe, and use your money to invest. I hear such stories in my country too, about an insane person giving gambling predictions, but it ends up being a scam somehow. I don't know if it's luck or who knows, but when they give you the first prediction, it tends to work.

So, with that mindset and excitement, the gambler tends to come back. Then, they request payment or appreciation for getting the first one right. When the gambler gives them money, they give a second prediction that might not be right. Or, it might be the third time the gambler returns for a prediction, and this time they give you a prediction because you can't really predict live events and certain games. They use this to scam people. I've heard of these stories, but I never believed them.

It's just an insane thing to think that a mad person can give accurate gambling predictions. If that were true, many gamblers would get insane people to give them predictions, and no one would ever lose a bet. Who wants to lose money to casinos and sports bets?

So, for that not to be the case, that each gambler has an insane person giving them predictions, it's just speculation and myth. So, to all the gamblers out there, be careful what you believe and who you trust with your money. Don't fall for false promises or scams.

...

I have never myself experienced something near similar to getting information for people who seem to suffer from madness or some mental health problem whatsoever. Though, I believe something a little bit similar happened to one of my cousins, several years ago... basically he was walking around his neighborhood, doing some errands and stuff, until he got suddenly interrupted by a hobo he told him what animals he was supposed to play on the animal roulette game of that afternoon. My cousin at first disregarded what he was saying and tried to ignore him, walked away from him, though, he later played animal roulette with the animals with the little money he had left in his pocket after buying the food he needed and doing those errands, he ended up winning a handful of money thanks to the odds/predictions of that hobo.
Either it was and coincidence or that person had priviledged information is for anyone to guess...

Exactly, someone that lucky can win streak without any reason, it's just because of luck, nothing else.

superstition is part of human nature, probably, not sure why, maybe believing in some extraordinary things helped us to survive by choosing good narratives in the past?

even if you throw a coin 10 times in a row you can get 10 times the same side, it's just really low probablility, but everyday something with really low probability happens to someone

this is the thing that most people who aren't into math and statistics end up not grasping.

It remains all superstition to me, one of the many superstitions surrounding gambling. If a madman can give correct predictions for a game, why has no shaman or prophet been able to give correct score predictions for several games?

Most times the people who tell this kind of story always claim to have heard it from another person; it is rarely a firsthand experience.
Crazy people only say according to what comes to mind, without any analysis or whatever it is as a definite reference to make predictions, there is no credibility that can be accounted for.
I agree with your sentence about this crazy person, it is just a gambling superstition, do not burden yourself with the nature of friends, because it is very out of logic, names basically luck cannot be predicted in gambling.

Well, even superstition can sometimes turn into reality, I don't want you to make any meaning out of this really, but then, it's important we don't completely write off that which we don't seem to understand, for doing so could turn out to be a grave mistake..
For it is often said that "men hate what they don't understand, deny what they can't conquer".

Like I did said in my previous post on this topic, I've never seen, but I've heard stories, several of them of how insane people gave out winning odds to random persons on the streets, how some persons slept and dreamt they were given a series of numbers, and upon waking up in the morning, they played those numbers and it turned out a great winning for them, I won't write it all off believe I've never seen it happen, but then, I will only have doubts until I see it happen.

Yeah, it's like being passed from one storyteller to another and then it got it's hype along the way. And now that we have a lot of gamblers around the world, this kind of stories will pop up from time to time.

And if so this happens in actual life, I don't know, it could be just coincidence as we all know that there are a lot of people that could have been betting for many years and perhaps this individual doesn't have money and so he wants to share his supposedly bet and then it just won. But nothing of extra ordinary or what we thought about this story.

You definitely shouldn't listen to such information. I know a similar person and he is sure that he knows more than many people, has he won a fortune on gambling? No. He also believes and talks about various conspiracy theories and strongly believes in them, the problem is that he is addicted to illegal drugs, hence all the mysticism and mythology. He is simply not healthy. It is fun to listen to such stories, but nothing more.
