He just posts (copy-paste, most probably) different projects here. Rarely does he indulge in any meaningful discussion. Is this type of posting behavior allowed here? I know it's certainly not encouraged, but I want to know if there can be some serious repercussions.

If he is plagiarizing, no, it is not allowed and is cause for ban. But being a shitposter or someone who doesn't engage in discussions or who has earned 1 merit in more than 1 year of activity is allowed.

That user makes all their posts in the Tokens (Altcoins) child board and i am sure quite a lot of users have not seen his posts before now, based on where he posts. I think the posts are in the appropriate section, he is making posts about tokens in the "tokens" board, i don't know if the token owners pay him to make those posts, but that is another thing. The posts hardly gets any discussion and the board it is posted in isn't one you should lose sleep over.

It’s ANN thread we are talking about here which is allowed. It’s normal for an ANN thread to be copy-pasted from the original website since it just an announcement version of the project in the forum.

I think the biggest concern on what he is doing is if he really affiliated on the project but regardless of what he is sharing, it’s shitcoin after all so it’s not really high risk for someone here fall on this crap.

As his name suggests, I think he is offering marketing services on shitcoin which creating an ANN thread here is part of the package. So I rule out plagiarism on this user.

I think these things are not trying to express their own creativity but they have enough time to post using AI but they are not fixing them I think they need to be cleaned up. Viewing from his profile he only focusing on the altcoin sections and I don't think there is any penalty for that if not for just copying from the site and end of the post he would include their social media handles over there. Like I know he's post is more like announcement for shitcoin, though I can't give a total judgement based on his post because he is posting it at the right section.

Most likely he is; that's how I also looked at it and all what he posted are his portfolio, Sometimes the client wants to post the same template on many forums; if that's the case, he should tweak his post to make it look different from the other forums, if this is his his business but my advice to that user is to use a disclaimer, People might think that he is the owner or the official representative of these projects.
Its up to the moderators what's their take on this is, but for me, there's no harm done on this as he is posting in the right section and only posting one project once in this forum.

He is probably paid something to make posts and ANN topics about different shitcoins and tokens, but there is nothing he is doing against forum rules, so this is allowed.
If you notice he is doing some plagiarism you can report him to moderators, but I wouldn't do that with his current posts.

That’s the problem already by shitcoin board since there’s already tons of them available in the market and counting that typically avail cheap marketing like the user in subject.

I think the forum needs to revise the rule be more specific. In general, altcoins board is already a spam fest of ANN thread even before. We need to define a guidelines on how to categorized as useful ANN thread because all I can see is just the info of the project on his post which is the typical content of ANN thread.

I had a hunch that it was not good but I did not want to bother anyone unnecessarily if he was not breaking any rules. It seems that members' opinions are divided on this matter so I will leave the thread open. I apologize for reacting early(declaring to locking thread) as I thought the user had every right to carry forward with this posting behavior and perhaps I was wrong in understanding the technicalities of the forum posting rules.

Surely this topic will create division of opinion since the user post is kind of spammy in technical perspective but considering this is an altcoin board matter which most of post looks like this I think this is the reason why he is still not ban yet.

I think filtering altcoin boards is the best solution to avoid this kind of user that doing low quality ANN thread.

From your analysis, the guy is purely a plagiarist/AI user which is liable to be punished and when comes checked the guy's profile he is posting memecoins and shitcoins. He is interested to create threads on those coins and probably that is why he is here. Well I have not scrutinized the posts to know if he is using Al or plagiarism. And the forum rules are very much clear in all the boards one ANN thread for each project so if he is having one ANN thread for each of his shitcoins projects then he didn't break the rules but if it is multiple ANN threads for one project then it is not allowed.

Mm hm.  I don't know if the moderator(s) of that section just let that crap slide or are just overwhelmed with the number of crap posts that break the rule, but zero-value posts have become normal, just par for the course in the altcoin section.  Theymos probably doesn't care much and likely doesn't even want any shitcoin sections on bitcointalk and might just be letting it self-destruct on its own.  And so be it.

I saw this person mentioned in the now-locked Meta thread, and the thing is a lot of the marketing material he's posting comes from elsewhere, so without a reference it could be considered plagiarism. However, most of the original sources were on Reddit where they were deleted as spam. For instance, these are all titles of his threads:

There is hardly any difference between GuruMarketing’s posts and 99% of every other post in the Tokens section of Bitcointalk. As far as I'm concerned, they are in the right section for posting these advertisements. Most people are already aware that those altcoin sections are full of spam and scams and are not really affected by it. It is just extra work for the moderators to try and clean up a place that is open to anybody wanting to promote a new altcoin project.

It seems the user makes good money from those random posts of different projects. He might be getting those posts from their various social media handles and websites. It will be fine if the post includes links to the original posts, but since he includes links to those social media handles, I think it's not totally out of place. Besides, if not for this post, I wouldn't have known that such board where he posts exist. That is not a bit of a problem to the entire forum.
