Putin: Who can stop Bitcoin? No one.

Nobody can do that at protocol level (lessen our anonymity or privacy in transactions). All they can do is to regulate centralized services like exchanges. Bitcoin is like cash. When you go to a super market and buy something and pay in cash, the owner doesn't ask you for your identity to make the payment but when you use a centralized service like banks (eg. debit/credit card) you have already revealed your identity.

It's the same with Bitcoin. People don't want their privacy be invaded, then they shouldn't use centralized services with their decentralized money called bitcoin.

This going to change and grow over "exchanges". We already have supercenters / super stores in here, that only accept max €200 cash money, because they are complying with new upcoming AML regulations. Same will happen with bitcoin when it will be tried to use as a cash.

You might not be able to control bitcoin in protocol level, but you can already see what happens when people try to play that card. What do you think will happen to your btc when it goes trough the mixer? Because you might get away with that with small amounts, but as laundering that gets trickier, people might reject it as a payment, because they won't want to get involved. It will be people who accept the bitcoin as payment who will need to explain the source, and it will be them taking risk.

Regulators will make it hard to use btc as payment for anything significant if you are acting pseudonymously, as you will need to prove the origin of the crypto, and once it touches something illegal, restricted or source is been obfuscated; That crypto will be tainted.

Well, it's very possible that when you purchase at a grocery store, you just pay with Bitcoin and they'll never know who you are. But what about the point where you purchase that Bitcoin? Sure, most of us use our bank to purchase Bitcoin on an exchange, so at that point, we've already revealed our identity to the exchange. Since the government regulates exchanges and banks, they could obtain that information.

True, i am aware that the way current bounties for example are handled can disappear in the future, and i am preparing for that.

Also private btc loans from random people in here with btc will most likely get trickier. We are currently in a long transition phase and many of the things we now take for granted will change.

But i am almost certain that future of bitcoin will have even less of those freedom values that bitcoin was build on to. And way more oversight. At least this will be the case if we want to keep the price and liquidity up. If we want to keep it away from government control, then the sacrifice will be more sanctions and drop of the value.

I would really like to be more positive about this and maybe tech for AML will be more sophisticated. Maybe money laundering wouldn't create a problem then anymore.  There are are probably many different kinds of ways to fight money laundering and eventually tech catches on without disturbing freedom of non-criminals.

We all know that Putin can be a difficult man and his ways are just different from others because is always doing things so I don't even know what is problem is because Putin is the one going to war and have a lot of silly things going on, am not really a fan of Putin, and I don't see a reason why his having a problem with bitcoin, when other countries him and the Chinese government they seem to have similarities in there ruling, and he might be the one given the false information and am sure there some of there citizens that will take bitcoin investment seriously doing it secretly.

And I wonder why the government will over ride the intrest of the people sometimes, this is an investment for Christ sake why discourage people not to invest, look at how other countries are encouraging bitcoin investment and and are using it to encourage, the economy of there country were others are busy fighting it and Russia depends on oil and weaponry so they feel investing in bitcoin is no use.

And gradually oil is fading out because all the new modern cars coming to the picture now so people are going for energy motors than the once's using fuel to save cost.

From this information it's pretty good to know that Vladimir Putin is one of few leaders in the world that comprehend that bitcoin exists as alternative to the weak fiat system for those persons who have been on the watch for annassrt they can hedge their funds against inflation by retaining value as well as gaining profits from it as investment. It should only be a matter of time before most (if not all) of the world's countries embrace Bitcoin for their own benefit. Even Donald Trump suggested the US should have its own BTC reserves.

Everything is pointing us towards the demise of Fiat currencies, and the rise of Bitcoin as a global, one world currency. Even China is starting to explore the benefits of crypto/Blockchain tech. If countries get into the mining industry, they will be able to "mint" BTC of their own. In a surprising twist, Fiat currencies could be backed by Bitcoin. The fun is just getting started. Just buy, "hodl", and forget about the rest.

If he really said that? that's the buying signal or it's going to be an opposite signal that we should be wary of? Every leader has their own stance with these financial instruments that the world is ever having now.

Most of these world leaders are doing everything so that they can stockpile all of the resources, not just natural but also those financial assets that they will benefit from when some triggers happen.

We can remember that they've been sanctioned by the US and so, they have no other option for the payments processor that they need to do. So, it's not only about Bitcoin as an asset to them but also a gateway of money, in and out of Russia.

Yeah, it's more like a possibility for them to bypass at least some of the restrictions imposed on them.

They were able to surpass and bypassed the sanction that has been imposed to them when the war they've started with Ukraine has started.

I don't know what's the actual situation inside there but it seems that people are still having a normal life as if there's no ongoing war that's happening.

Though, as of today, BTC got dragged to 89k and back up a bit, didn't understand specifically why currently

IMHO, it's very simple.

The whales just took some money for them to shop for anything they want.

I live in Russia, and I can say that the sanctions do have an impact on us. I got into crypto in 2022, just when the sanctions hit Russia. Initially, I started with stablecoins, but later I moved on to Bitcoin. Overall, you can feel the inflation in the country.

As for whether the war is felt, it's a mixed bag—yes and no. People are just tired of it; many have simply stopped caring. However, patriotism in Russia is being pushed hard, sometimes to the point of absurdity.

For me, Bitcoin protects the rubles I earn and helps to grow them.

If there were no problems with sanctions, then surely the rhetoric of politicians would be completely different and, I believe, more hostile (prohibitions) towards bitcoin (I foresee restrictions for ordinary citizens).

It seems to me that these "old men" don't understand anything at all about technologies like bitcoin and in this case, they see only "alternative money" (is Satoshi's dream really coming true when bitcoin will be used as digital money. P2P, but not at the level of individuals, but individual countries. i.e. ponit refers to entire countries) to bypass financial restrictions.

Of course, the "fun" is just beginning and this is due to the increased interest from entire countries, not individuals or companies. But keep in mind that if interest appears from such large investors (countries) and influential people, regulatory sentiments will also increase on their part. Therefore, it will not be possible to simply "forget about the rest" and it is necessary to "keep your finger on the pulse" of current changes in order to have time to adapt to them and not end up under the roadroller of those very regulatory sentiments.

Of course. Both Trump and Putin don't truly understand how Bitcoin works. But at least they know the benefits. In the case of Putin, he knows using BTC is a great way to bypass sanctions. Meaning, it can be used as an alternative to Fiat currencies. Just like how Satoshi envisioned it. As for Trump, he's going all in BTC to make a lot of money. He's a business man, after all. Same as Saylor, Fink, and the likes.

At the end of the day, no one truly cares about the inner workings of Bitcoin. Or how it could change our world for the better. It's all about money, and power. Thank goodness Bitcoin is open source and decentralized. You can use it in any way you wish. Who knows? Maybe BTC will outlive Fiat. From what I've learned, nothing is impossible in crypto land.
