Good news to see senior politicians recognizing Bitcoin after all these years of ban and neglect.
The question is why the recognition from Putin, does he want to use BTC to circumvent sanctions, i know that BTC is censorship resistant and we cannot dictate to anyone how they should use their BTC. However, we should be smart enough to know that centralized governments would not suddenly 'fall in love' with BTC, it is all about what they stand to gain with it and not even about BTC in itself.

Putin does not need bitcoin to circumvent sanctions, he's already doing that with the help of china and other countries.
i think it's because Trump is going all pro bitcoin, and the talk about wanting to make bitcoin "made in USA" is why Putin changed his stance on it. he simply doesn't want to leave the entire playground to Trump/USA.

You are right. No centralized government would be very much interested in a decentralized network like Bitcoin without any form of ulterior motive behind their public declaration of love for bitcoin. We all know that the government loves to be incharge and in control, so what changed now? Although this their public declarations has been advantageous to the Bitcoin community in terms of more adoptions and price increase, I know both Trump and Putin are not saints.

My joy lies in the fact that Bitcoin is a decentralized network and cannot be controlled by any world power. So we are  safe.

And with that, whether we like it or not, Bitcoin is going to be used in this kind of situations and probably there will be hate coming because of Putin's statement. But regardless, I see the price pumping to $98k in the last couple of hours.

A knife is just a knife, regardless of whoever uses it and for what purpose. A drill is just a drill. You can make a hole in a wall to hang a picture, use it to break into someone's security safe, or drill his leg to torture him. Bitcoin is just a tool.

I don't care if Putin uses it. I'll say more, he should use it because bitcoin was made for everyone. It does not discriminate.

I don't like Putin, but he's right. The only way to stop bitcoin is to agree not to use it, but is such consensus even possible? People can't even agree not to use phosphorus or cluster munition and continue to use butterfly mines that kill children.

What Futin needs is Monero, as miners can't blacklist transactions because they are encrypted.

Something doesn't feel right to me, Putin saying this and Trump posting tweet with bitcoin 100k celebration.
Maybe it's not easy to stop Bitcoin and shut down all miners, but they can influence and make damage for sure.
Simple way to stop bitcoin in many parts of the world (if not all)  is to cut the undersea internet cables, and it's not like that didn't happen several times already.
Whatever politicians say it's usually not true.

Shutting down the whole Internet? Good luck with that. Doing such a thing will not only disrupt Bitcoin, but other services as well. This means Google, Amazon, eBay, Facebook, and other companies will be gone for good. After all, they depend on the Internet to survive. Even if somehow governments manage to reset the Internet in collaboration with tech companies, Bitcoin will always be there because of its open source nature. As long as someone has the code, nothing should stop BTC from coming back to life. Besides, Bitcoin can live on space through the use of satellites.

All in all, Putin is right that no one can stop Bitcoin. It took him a long time to realize it, though. Governments must now embrace the revolution or get left behind in the dust. Who knows? Maybe BTC will outlive Fiat. With how fast mainstream adoption is rising, anything's possible. Cheesy

He is lying. It is easy for a dictatorship to destroy cryptocurrencies. Most people know that the Chinese Communist Party has GFW, but few people know that they have stronger means than GFW, the whitelist mode.
In fact, I think he spoke in accordance with the data and facts that exist in the current conditions. No one can stop bitcoin and that is true even Satoshi who can create bitcoin in the end cannot stop bitcoin that already exists and runs today.

The government has power and I agree with that but in the end none of them can stop bitcoin including countries that do have a big role in the economy such as the US and China and Russia will not be able to stop bitocin because they will continue to move according to what was planned from the beginning where it will be completed even 80 decades from now.

We can see how government propaganda does its job as when China banned bitcoin from circulating in the country. But in the end it will only be able to weaken the market value but cannot stop bitcoin.

Though, as of today, BTC got dragged to 89k and back up a bit, didn't understand specifically why currently Grin
IMHO, it's very simple.

The whales just took some money for them to shop for anything they want.

Maybe you are right.
Alas, they will need to shop more, so let's see how BTC will break charts again in the future  Grin
And it went back to $100k also today.  Cheesy

The day of those statements, two days ago, was the same day that Jerome Powell said he did not see bitcoin as a competitor to the dollar, and between one thing and another it seems to have been what catapulted the price.

Though, as of today, BTC got dragged to 89k and back up a bit, didn't understand specifically why currently Grin
IMHO, it's very simple.

The whales just took some money for them to shop for anything they want.

It is always the same. There will be minnows who bought as soon as the $100K price passed and were fleeced by the whales betting short.
I've missed that thing about Powell, so that's another thing that made the price reached $100k.

And as for the price going back to $100k, those that have sold earlier would probably set another limit in selling but not anymore with $100k. Let's go $110k-$150k.

Putin (Russia) mentioned that no one could stop Bitcoin. The USA is planning to consider it as a strategic reserve, while China continues to ban it. These major countries, at least two of them, are in favor of Bitcoin. This shows that Bitcoin will always sustain itself, and that’s the power of decentralization.

Although regulations may reduce our anonymity or lessen privacy in transactions, as long as the system remains intact and functions the way it’s designed to, Bitcoin will remain unstoppable. With that said, we should consider investing or continue holding as its demand will continue to increase in the future, and you know what would happen to its price in that scenario.

Unless we traders decide, honest answer😂
You see, Bitcoin has achieved 100k for the first time in history since its launch, nch but I was mad that I sold it when I entered this field and earned 0.045 Satoshi from a job. What if I could hold it till the last moment? I could be a top gainer. I don't want to miss any more BNB; in fact, I made another mistake; btw it's not since if you repeat it a habit; however, I lost another opportunity. Even if I could accumulate some at $1, just 100$ from my income, then I could bring my pension. Similarly, BGB surpassed $2 and started below 0.5 cents, and I was observing another fault from this side. But I'll no longer repeat it and take a chance. Let's see if it can touch something like SOL or BNB as many people are talking about it.

Although regulations may reduce our anonymity or lessen privacy in transactions, as long as the system remains intact and functions the way it’s designed to, Bitcoin will remain unstoppable.
Nobody can do that at protocol level (lessen our anonymity or privacy in transactions). All they can do is to regulate centralized services like exchanges. Bitcoin is like cash. When you go to a super market and buy something and pay in cash, the owner doesn't ask you for your identity to make the payment but when you use a centralized service like banks (eg. debit/credit card) you have already revealed your identity.

It's the same with Bitcoin. People don't want their privacy be invaded, then they shouldn't use centralized services with their decentralized money called bitcoin.

Probably so.
The promises of politicians overall can only be a trigger to what is already in place and waiting to be put into work, - they don't control the sentiment in the full extent, and that's good.
Even though we experience a dip in price - that's okay too.
Better prices to catch  Cool
If you understand the conditions that occur, it is much better because it will provide adjustments to the steps we will take. Forget political promises because even though they have an impact, they will only work in the short term because in fact other triggers will also grow slowly along the way. They control but are not able to do it fully because the massive movements that occur naturally sometimes change price conditions.

For the issue of decline or increase, it is a natural thing to happen because something that is traded because it has a certain value will give rise to selling or buying pressure in a certain period, but the strength of bitcoin actually looks stronger by relying on the four-year cycle as has happened before.

Well, it's very possible that when you purchase at a grocery store, you just pay with Bitcoin and they'll never know who you are. But what about the point where you purchase that Bitcoin? Sure, most of us use our bank to purchase Bitcoin on an exchange, so at that point, we've already revealed our identity to the exchange. Since the government regulates exchanges and banks, they could obtain that information.

The idea of cutting off the internet to stop bitcoin is unnecessary and unfeasible because it would cause serious damage to the world economy and I don't think they would trade that just to stop bitcoin. Although it is difficult to completely block bitcoin, slowing its growth and popularity is not that difficult for them. Just a strict ban and I bet bitcoin's popularity would stop immediately because no one wants to be a criminal or get arrested.

Cheesy

I think Putin's implication is not just about the decentralization of bitcoin, I think he is referring to using bitcoin to circumvent the US ban or that it will be a solution to help them reduce their dependence on the USD. If conflict breaks out between the US and BRICS, it is entirely possible that they will use bitcoin against the US.

You can tell your story to all the people whose accounts were suspended due to tainted coins and to those who were indicted because of it.

You have a slave mentality and can’t understand that you don’t need to prove anything - they need to prove that your money comes from an illegal source or that you are not the true owner.

I can have a stash of gold, and it will still be worth the same and legal for me to sell if I choose to, without needing to prove anything except that I am its owner.

In terms of crypto, it’s easy to prove ownership because you are the only one with access to it.

I wouldn’t touch transparent blockchains like Bitcoin with a ten-foot pole.

But hey, you do you. I’ll keep doing what I’ve been doing, because it’s working great for me.

It always amuses me that the people who don’t actually have any substantial cash are the ones who talk about it the most.

Yeah, that is true, but there are also ways to buy BTC without using a kyc service, i.e. there are p2p exchanges that do not require kyc and you can purchase BTC from services like that, you can also purchase BTC directly from people you know, that is if you have a trusted pal who can sell to you sometimes. There are also no-kyc centralized services like Mexc, they allow you trade up to a certain amount without requiring your personal information.

The government has power and I agree with that but in the end none of them can stop bitcoin including countries that do have a big role in the economy such as the US and China and Russia will not be able to stop bitocin because they will continue to move according to what was planned from the beginning where it will be completed even 80 decades from now.

Actually, even when talking about China, I don't feel that they really banned bitcoin because in the end this could be their ploy to get bitcoin at a lower price because some of the news they did made the market a little volatile and in fact the ban from China happened. not once or twice but several times they banned and legalized bitcoin again. So with this, even stupid people can definitely conclude that this could be one of their strategies even though they still hold the anti-bitcoin claims that they always maintain.

Some economic rulers such as China and America of course will not give up bitcoin because of the advantages that bitcoin has, even though they cannot curb or completely make bitcoin regulated but they are aware that they have to find a way to reap big profits from bitcoin in the end.

The biggest war at the moment is the financial war. If someone can fight with money, then it is not difficult to defeat them. China is in a higher position in the world in terms of finance with its technological advancement. They may not want to openly accept Bitcoin for strategic reasons, but they are definitely accepting Bitcoin.

On the other hand, the United States is already accepting Bitcoin openly and they have already started ETF trading. I am sure that both China and America have been able to estimate the benefits and potential of Bitcoin well, which is why one country may be secretly accepting and holding Bitcoin while the other country is openly accepting and holding Bitcoin.

Everyone's goal is to make profit and I don't think that China will lag behind in this matter in any way, as it has advanced in other areas of technology in recent times.

Bitcoin is now so important that it is a must for every countries to have, you are a big fool if you believe that 1million dollars per Bitcoin is impossible, ,
Literally, BTC is making a noise now. BTC is important now, not only because of its increasing value but that also means the support for it got wider than ever. Though to be realistic, $1M for BTC price is really impossible, at least at the moment or a few months from now. Time will only tell if we will get there but if we do, then that's great. If not, well, I'm sure we still have a decent value in the future. That would be enough for us already.

now that 100k is achieved, x10 is all Bitcoin need to reach 1M in the future
If we don't look at the value but only the multiplier, indeed that 10x looks achievable but as other users said before, 10x from $100k to $1M is not the same as 10x from $1k to $10k. We also need to consider other factors here like the supply of the coin and how much people are already involved.

This old man most likely does not even understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are. He just takes superficial information and gives it to the public to seem omnipresent and all-knowing. People have long noticed that he does not understand many issues. He has the knowledge that was written down on paper and reads it out. As soon as the matter goes into details, then a complete circus begins and that's it.

Are you talking about Putin or Trump? But no matter who you're talking about, it doesn't matter because as president, they have more things to worry about than just focusing on bitcoin. They don't need to know too much about bitcoin but as long as they have an open policy and promote its development, that's more than enough for us.

As a president, as long as he benefits the people, promotes economic development and improves people's lives, he is a successful president. Don't worry too much about whether they know about bitcoin, technology or using a phone...because they have a lot of advisors and experts in many different fields who will take care of that.
