Hi,

First of all congrats with the 100k! Don't know if this is the right forumsection to ask this, but I want to redeem my 2011 error casascius coin.

It's with pain in the heart but since I bought the coin in januari 2013, I always said that I would redeem it when Bitcoin reaches $100.000.  And there we are. What a ride it was!

Ofcourse it's super exciting because it's a lot of money and I'm not a pro in redeeming this coins Wink So I would like to ask for some advices and tips.

- What wallet is the best for claiming this series 1 casascius coin? And is there a step by step manual somewhere doing this?
- I heard there is a method where you can "save" the hologram by cutting it out? Is there also a detailed description or movie about this?

Thanks a lot! Although I'm going to redeem the coin I'm not cashing out everything. $1,000,000 here we come!

I would use a Ballet wallet... it pulls all the forks automatically and you can convert them to btc

There have been some coins where the very center of the hologram was cut with a razor to just get around the private key paper.

Here is an example of one of those coins:

The safest way I have done and recommend is as follows

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5303860.msg55941150#msg55941150

Once you have the BTC out you can take the shit coins left using Ballet or any other hot wallet.

And a craft knife works well for cutting around the private key and preserving the holo.
