It is quite unfortunate that even till now some people do not understand or know the value/worth of Bitcoin and what it is going to look like in the nearest future. Some people have the intention of selling now and hoping for Bitcoin to dip to buy again without even thinking the opposite of what they are..., you can imagine how myopic some people are. Yes we know that Bitcoin is a very volatile asset but  that doesn't mean it can or will dump to where we expect it too so that we can enter again no, it doesn't work that way there are people who are wishing they have a little of it then why someone who has it, is so carried away by the small profit.

Another thing that will or can make one not buy again aside Bitcoin not dumping to their... is responsibility, there are people who has family, brothers, sisters etc to take care of. Do you know that the moment you have money or money enters your hand needs and wants arises and you can not say  no to it because you have it with you but if it is in your wallet you won't touch but look for means to remedy those..., perhaps everyone knows what they want but I will still suggest you don't sell your Bitcoin instead keep on accumulating and holding for Bitcoin holds a very great thing ahead. Feel free to add and remove.

Dips happen but when dips appear, we can not know. If price is at $90,000 and you waited for dips, but price continues rising towards $120,000 where a dip happens like 20%, it won't give you cheaper price than $90,000.

Taking profit is not bad, it depends on your average entry price and ROI. If you entered with prices like $20,000 to $50,000, taking profit now is very good. Because you can not find ATH, so if you see ROI is good enough, and you want to have profit to use, take it is not bad idea especially you are in profit with very high ROI.

If you intend to hold your bitcoin for some cycles, you will have different approach but you can take profit with small part of your bitcoin.

@OP, who cares?

If you choose to hold until you die, then go for it.

However, there's nothing wrong for people who want to sell their coins at $100K, whether they want to flip it or enjoy the small reward after holding for a long time.

Do you know that the moment you have money or money enters your hand needs and wants arises and you can not say  no to it because you have it with you but if it is in your wallet you won't touch but look for means to remedy those...
There's no difference, if you have coins in your wallet, you can just send it to CEX, trade and withdraw, it doesn't even need 30 minutes to doing that.

If you're encouraged to spend your money when you have it in banks or hands, then it's a skill issue.

There's nothing wrong selling at the $100k mark. And I think you are wrong at some point op. The financial market works in a particular manner the only thing is that you cannot predict when it will repeat a past action. For every psychology level or new ATH broken, price will always dip down to a lower level for support. That's why it's said to sell high and buy low. It's how the financial market has been for generations. Bitcoin is not an exception. We just crossed the $100,000 mark you should know except price to dip a bit at this point and so a lot of holders would want to sell of now and make some profits. It's not about being carried away, it's you being risk cautious. Price cannot continue in an uptrend for too long, it will always return back down..

I’m really bullish on Bitcoin, but I can’t blame people for cashing out during this bullish run as the risk is always there, even though holding for the long term feels like the safer move.. A risk is still a risk. Think about it: if everyone just held Bitcoin, the ecosystem would stagnate. For the Bitcoin network to thrive, we need people using it for daily transactions. These should ideally be the majority, along with day traders and short-term investors.

At the same time, HODLers play a crucial role by reducing the circulating supply, which benefits all investors as demand grows. That’s the basic principle of value appreciation. So, it’s best to let people play their role, whether they’re spending, trading, or holding. Focus on your own strategy, because at the end of the day, if we profit, even just a little, it’s still a win-win for everyone.

Do you know that the price of bitcoin has increased above $100k, I think this is the season to release bitcoins if anyone is still holding bitcoins, because it will start decreasing any moment from January, if you want to continue holding your bitcoin in your wallet, nothing wrong about that, but don't encourage other holders not to sell their bitcoins in this bull run because you don't know if they have financial issues they want to solve when they sell their bitcoins, If you buy when the price is low and sell in this bull run, it will definitely bring big income to anyone that want to sell bitcoins because that is the normal season holders use to earn income from the market.

If you have needs especially very pressing needs pls I would advice to settle it even with your Bitcoin. You can have a means to solve your personal issues and not do that because you are investing that very much silly. Your interest or the interest of your Loved ones especially when it's saving a life should come first.

It's best not to let investing be life or standard of living threatening to you. Invest what won't hurt you will you try to find something to give you more capital and trust me you can work with that.

If you are rich, you can hold your position as long as you want, because you don't become homeless if your investment in Bitcoin fails. With the poor, it's different, they need to secure their initial investment capital and need to gain profit to handle many things in their lives. They don't have same targets, like invest money in Bitcoin to be rich, or they simply have a humble target like improve their finance a little bit. Hence they can take profit when they feel enough, and see risk that price will fall, so if they won't sell, they will miss very good price for taking profit.

Hence they can take profit when they feel enough, and see risk that price will fall, so if they won't sell, they will miss very good price for taking profit.
This isn’t about being rich or poor, it’s about applying principles like “invest what you can afford to lose,” which is somewhat similar to gambling because there’s always a risk involved, which means you could lose your investment.

Using the rich vs. poor comparison doesn’t make sense because, personally, I believe that people who consider themselves poor likely can’t afford to invest in the first place.

At the same time, HODLers play a crucial role by reducing the circulating supply, which benefits all investors as demand grows. That’s the basic principle of value appreciation. However, there's nothing wrong for people who want to sell their coins at $100K, whether they want to flip it or enjoy the small reward after holding for a long time.
~snip~

What's the point of money and profit if you don't use it somehow? Of course, my advice is not to sell all the BTC you have and spend it all on nonsense, but there are people who invested in BTC 10 or more years ago and from a few hundred $ investment today they have over $100k - I would really like to see if the OP would still think the same if he had such an opportunity?

I've always sold a small portion in situations like this, and this bull run will be no exception - I can only say that some of my long-held desires will finally come true.

Yes. I have waited for this long and the last thing I need right now is for someone to preach to me to not sell and take profit. This is the little reward I can give to myself and I have to take full advantage of it. It's been a long time coming and a little fancy wrist watch would not hurt a fly I deserve it. There are people who would also wait for Vic Bitcoin to reach 120k US dollars before they take profit we all have our different goals and for me 100k fair to indulge myself in some guilty pleasure.

It is quite unfortunate that even till now some people do not understand or know the value/worth of Bitcoin and what it is going to look like in the nearest future. ..

When buying Bitcoin, every investor should set a clear goal for himself: to sell all BTC when its price reaches 100 thousand dollars or leave its hold for his children and grandchildren. And if your goal of selling BTC for 100 thousand dollars has been achieved and you can get a profit equal to 700% to spend it on buying a car, then you should stick to your plan.

It’s even not about discouragement, I believe you know that everyone has target, and I think many people including me have $100k as their main target, and since it has been met, they have to sell and wait for another opportunity to buy again, or they can take profit for now living their capital or even wait for price correction or a dip because the price will not keep rising like this, there must be a correction time, and the bull run will end and we will face bear market as well.

Like I always say, it depends on the HODLer. Different people have their different targets when they Hodl some have a particular time set in mind and some others have a price tag in mind however most times people respect the Decision of selling at a particular price mark than a set time and the whole thing is quite logical. For someone who bought bitcoin at probably $48k during that dip, and is seeing the current 100k would definitely want to sell off some coins and there is literally nothing wrong with that.

Op don't forget that bitcoin is a free and easy investment and that is the more reason people prefer to take advantage of it. Every HODLer has a choice of Hodling. Yes the truth is bitcoin still getting to a 150k  is possible but still there is nothing wrong selling at 100k. Your concept is more like a forever HODLer and they are like "imaginary".

The thing there is that, before a Bitcoin holder's make investment in Bitcoin, their already have the fundamentals on when and how to take profits from their investments, this is very important part of the investment, because going by what you are saying ut then means that a Bitcoin holder will continue to hold their Bitcoin endlessly if their are alnot taking profits at some point.

Mate you have to have a rethink about this notion and at least advocate for long term holding rather than advocating for none Bitcoin liquidation at profits point, this could trigger up a misunderstanding of the concept of Bitcoin investment in it entirety.

Quote
Another thing that will or can make one not buy again aside Bitcoin not dumping to their... is responsibility, there are people who has family, brothers, sisters etc to take care of. Do you know that the moment you have money or money enters your hand needs and wants arises and you can not say  no to it because you have it with you but if it is in your wallet you won't touch it but look for means to remedy those..., perhaps everyone knows what they want but I will still suggest you don't sell your Bitcoin instead keep on accumulating and holding for Bitcoin holds a very great thing ahead. Feel free to add and remove.
This point is a factor that can be properly considered before having money at hand because money management is very essential in investment since cash flow and financial management results into our more than 50% of financial success in life, so regardless wether you liquidate your Bitcoin holdin when at profits or not, you still will make family expenses.

You can't take all profit whenever you think you have seen enough profit added to your investment. I don't see any harm in selling and taking profit. It's something that you don't need permission from anyone before you can do that. Just make your sales; if you don't see any buyback opportunity, just wait for it; it will come.

If you are seeing profit to never be enough and you want to take all the profit that Bitcoin can give you, then you might never have the opportunity to sell because the price will never stop being promising, and the future can never stop being bright for Bitcoin.

That is already the decision of the owner itself. If he wants to sell, then sell. His investment, his rules. After all, as long as he benefit from selling, then I don’t have against on it. What’s important is he experienced the profits after patiently holding his coins, rather than buying and holding, but end up selling at a lower price due to price correction that is inevitable from happening in the market.

People that have been in the crypto space for a long time know how bitcoin operates, anyone that can take their time to check bitcoin history will know that bitcoin price is going to increase massively in the future. Most people think maybe the highest that bitcoin can go is the $100k range, and they think we are going to be seeing a massive dump since  bitcoin has crossed $100k, so they all want to take advantage, but all I know we will be seeing in the market is just a correction, so if you sell your bitcoin, and you think you will be getting it back so cheap, then bitcoin might not get to the price that you are planning to buy back before it’s going to bounce back.

One thing is clear, you can never lose when you take profit it doesn’t matter which target it was as long as it is in profit and you took it then you’re good to go. Some of these profits that many of this investors take is not to actually invest into bitcoin again with that profit they would have probably set out a plan to actually invest into another business when their profit target is reach. So why shouldn’t they take now when the market has gotten to that point. Most at times when you delay to take profit you can simply miss out on that range.

Today bitcoin broke into $103k we don’t know maybe it will get pass this price even though the ability of the market to actually rise more is more realistic based on past market cycles, but since there is certainty simply take your profit at your desired and stick to the plan and don’t get your emotions into them

In a way, you're the one being myopic here because you're not looking at things from their point of view. A lot of people have already made up their minds that they'll sell and take profit when Bitcoin reaches a particular price. Now that bitcoin has gotten to their desired price, they have taken profit, there is nothing wrong with that. It's an investment after all.

Also, you have no idea how long people have been holding their bitcoin. Some have been holding for a year while others may have been holding for 10 years. So if they decide to sell, it doesn't mean they don't believe in bitcoin or they think it will dip after that.

Also, you have no idea what people are going through. You have no idea why they need to sell their bitcoin and solve a financial problem they may be having. The purpose of an investment is to use it for something else in future and that is exactly what they're doing.
The point is, that people sell their bitcoin for a whole lot of reasons, so you can't just group all of them into one bracket.
