I will go first with : Yes

We could totally have an interesting board all about (real) blockchain games as well as blockchain game development.
There is a creative and engaging well to be dug and I think it could be fun for the community.

It is not too different than a proposal for GameFi, NFT, Metaverse board.

Suggestion - to Founders and Admins, Create a ChildBoard "Games in Blockchain"
When NFT board?
NFT Board Soon?

Depends on the blockchain used for those games, it can be in Bitcoin Discussion board or Altcoin board.

Can you attach a link to 20-30 topics from the last 120 days?

Since boards like Lightning Network or NFT have not been created despite the relatively large number of topics, I assume that the chances of creating a Blockchain Games Board seem slim.

I don't know how you define real blockchain games. But my opinion is no, since most blockchain games sucks or not fun. I'd rather play Angry Birds (the original one) over those.

In addition, cybersecurity/privacy board never created either despite some member voicing support and proving high quantity of such thread.

But, do you really know any games? I haven't seen any games so far.

What I've seen so far is just a platform where you acquire some NFTs and then the platform's mechanics randomly say who wins or loses, based on the type of NFT that each "player" has. For me, that's not playing, it's having more money than the "opponent" to buy better NFTs.

I haven't seen one yet that really requires strategy, thinking, making decisions, directly so that a certain result is achieved.

That to me is not playing. Even games in the 80s, which were text games, were more interactive than these.

Honestly i don't remember name of blockchain i've tried, although i remember i tried few blockchain game that created soon after Axie Infinity popularity.

Your statement is part of reason why i say most blockchain games sucks or not fun. Aside from that, this year we've seen popularity of play-to-earn or tap-to-earn game (such as Hamster Kombat) where it's worse than what you've described where the game is mainly about tapping same object many times and share to your friends. If you're looking for real or more interactive games, Illuvium[1] may be what you're looking for, although i never try it.

Yes, this RPG might be a little different for those who like the genre (I don't).

Even so, I kind of get the feeling that it's more of an Axie Infinity with 3D graphics and a little more interactive than anything else. But, I could be wrong.

Now I doubt it's play-to-earn, it seems more pay-to-play.

I will go first with : Yes

We could totally have an interesting board all about (real) blockchain games as well as blockchain game development.
There is a creative and engaging well to be dug and I think it could be fun for the community.

Isn't the service board enough to accommodate this?

I don't really see that every game should be considered a service. A service is supposed to be useful and not just for wasting time and having fun. Furthermore, my proposal has to do with motivating devs here to not only concentrate on the usual blockchain stuff but gaming as well.

I guess it's okay to have a board dedicated to blockchain based games but the board should be child board not a main board. Something like that could be much suitable as a child board under Altcoin board, and it could be useful to discuss about those blockchain based games. I'm not sure if the current crypto games that we have are good to be considered as blockchain games as most of those are play to earn games but I like the idea of blockchain game development. I vote "yes" and hope the ones who like blockchain based games may also go with same vote.

Based on my little experience with blockchain games, IMO many of them can be categorized as service after looking this wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Games_as_a_service. While blockchain may be used to manage coin, token or virtual item, blockchain games usually depends on internet and certain game server. What do you think?

an interesting board all about (real) blockchain games

It might not only be dedicated to it but Games and Rounds child-board can be used for this based on the following description:

Games and rounds (child board of Gambling) - "Spreadsheet games, forum-based games, and discussion of individual rounds/games on other sites." All Bitcoin giveaways, raffles, contests also go here.

The part I have bolded is what makes the board suitable for individual blockchain games.
It is a Gambling child board, but I don't see anything wrong in blockchain games falling under this category because most of the games would require players to make some sort of investment before they can play the games such as buying NFTs or characters that they can use for games, and it is not guaranteed whether they are going to make any profits from it or not. So, it basically can fall under the gambling category, to some extent.

And, for:

blockchain game development.

We can use these two boards:

Service Announcements (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Announcement of external services that are directly related to or accept altcoins.

Service Discussion (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Discussion of altcoin services (both external and on-forum). This includes discussions about bounties.

It might not be too relevant, but since such games and platforms could be called services based on the GaaS (Games as a Service) business model, announcements and discussions related to them can be posted on these boards.

I don't think it would be worth having a board dedicated to this because the vast majority of these cryptocurrency games are scams, pyramid schemes and only serve to capture people's money. Look at how many of these games were born and died during the 2021 cycle, I can name several: Zodiacs, Crypto bomb, Crypto Planes, cryptomines... all scams

And those that will appear in this cycle will be no different, they will all be scams too.

And with time, problems will appear, and the "devs" will give the famous excuses that they are solving, blah blah blah and in the end... rug pull

I don't know how you define real blockchain games. But my opinion is no, since most blockchain games sucks or not fun. I'd rather play Angry Birds (the original one) over those.

Exactly, these crypto games are not games, they are a kind of bet. You can't control the characters, there is no gameplay, you just click and wait to see what happens.

I will go first with : Yes

We could totally have an interesting board all about (real) blockchain games as well as blockchain game development.
There is a creative and engaging well to be dug and I think it could be fun for the community.
I think that blockchain games don't need a dedicated board because they suit well to the Gambling board but I think that Blockchain needs its independent board on this forum.

I don't know how you define real blockchain games. But my opinion is no, since most blockchain games sucks or not fun. I'd rather play Angry Birds (the original one) over those.

Since boards like Lightning Network or NFT have not been created despite the relatively large number of topics, I assume that the chances of creating a Blockchain Games Board seem slim.

In addition, cybersecurity/privacy board never created either despite some member voicing support and proving high quantity of such thread.
I advocate for Cybersecurty board because it's very important in modern days. Yes, maybe this board isn't 100% directly in touch with cryptocurrencies but indirectly, it's very important for every Bitcoin and crypto users to know how to create a secure Bitcoin wallet, how to protect themselves from cyber attacks, how to protect their privacy online and so on but, NFTs and Blockchain Technology boards are 100% necessary for Bitcointalk because both of these are part of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. There should be a Blockchain board, without a doubt but there should be an NFT/Ordinals board as well (I'm not a huge fan of them but it's still necessary).

We have had better proposals for new boards and nothing happened. They were never created. I certainly don't believe we will get a new board exclusively for blockchain games. These are primarily altcoin projects, thus, such threads can be opened in the respective altcoin sub. The only reason admins would consider creating such a board would be if they noticed a massive amount of threads concerning blockchain games all over the place or if they completely took over a specific child board. And I don't think that's the case.

I think the best proposal for a new board, except local boards, is for Security.

Community Vote: Add "Cybersecurity & Privacy" board to Bitcointalk.

It was not approved since August 2023 and topics about security are moved to Off-topic board. I think Cyber security and Privacy board is more important than Blockchain games, NFTs, Metaverse boards.

yes, in fact, I believe that the right place for these posts is the altcoin section also because it doesn't have much to do with the crypto world and therefore they should all be moved to a lot, they have already done so, in fact respecting the regulation apparently

Not quite sure what you were trying to say here. Altcoins are crypto, and most blockchain games have their own coins and tokens plus a blockchain, which makes them crypto as well. Bitcoin is a category of its own, and that category could be referred to simply as Bitcoin. It's easier when you disassociate bitcoin from all other altcoins, and it doesn't create the confusion you would get if you are talking about bitcoin but calling it crypto.
