Due to high rank demand on the board with limited source I've decided to make the application public and to reduce the merit requirement to 8-10

Who can apply?

Member rank 5+
Full member: 90+
Sr member: 240+
Hero: 490+
Legendary: 990+

Too many multiple applications. I will lock this thread now, when I get the current page I reopen. If you're lacking 10-15 merits to the next rank PM your profile for review and upgrade

This is really a brilliant initiative Sir Igebotz, our dynamic and hardworking local board moderator, as I'm sure this will go a long way helping our most active and genuine local board users achieve their anticipated ranks on the forum. And as such, I will love to suggest that accounts created after this thread was made public shouldn't be eligible for this, until after 30days of existence, so as to avoid/prevent people from farming multiple accounts and sending just 5 merits just to get extra 5 more merits and abuse this thread. Maybe, our able moderator should also include that your activity should also have reached the required number to your next rank before applying here. Just my suggestion.

I don't know if you made a mistake on this number, but from my observation, Full Member, Hero Member and Legendary Member needs 18+ merits left to their next rank for them to qualify for this application but Senior Member is 8 merits. Maybe, it should also be 18+ merits.

You are more than a moderator but also someone who want the Nigeria community to be progressive in ranking up.

This is a nice initiative as our local board moderator have decided to rank up those that are closer to their next rank. However, this will also help our local board to grow and also to be active, because even the rules says that the applicants must be a regular local board poster. Some months back, @hugeblack was one of the people that supported the local board by giving out merits to quality posts and many users (including myself) benefited from it.
So, keep up the good work @Igebotz

I really appreciate the moderator of our local board who happens to be the Op of this thread, for coming up with this initiative I really appreciate this move. I have only one suggestion to make here. To avoid abuse of this initiative, the op should consider removing those that are going to member ranked from applying. The application should only start from members going to full Member. This is to avoid multitudes of accounts applying here every week, and discourage merit farming. Someone who truly want to be in this community shouldn't find it difficult to get to mamber rank on their own. The 5 merits meant for them should be added to those full members that are heading for snr member rank. I'm not in any dictating for the op, but I believe this will keep the thread free from spamming and abuse.

Alright guys thanks for your input and the mistakes in OP has been fixed, I was little unstable last night when I created this thread hence the mistakes and congrats MainIbem you took advantage of that, it was my mistake so I had to rank you up with 14 merits exceeding the 10 max I wrote in OP.

Please read the rules before submitting, this is just cherry on the cake for those who are already near the finish line. I'm still going to spread my merits across the board as usual.

Only application is allowed going forward. Let's keep this on topic.

Exactly, this initiative will also encourage many of our local board members who are not usually very active on our local board to see more reasons to be now, the only place we enjoyed this privilege is on the B/H board and applications would take even months before it can be reviewed, but with this recent initiative, our Naija people go come Dey enjoy the same privileges too. Well done to our able moderators and other of our senior men wey Dey really pull plugs to make sure say this our local move to the permanent side. Respect.

I think he's not against people given their opinions on the new initiative he's only trying to avoid the thread turning into unnecessary discussions and neglecting the purpose of his thread. Congratulations to the ranked up.....

Thanks for your kindness and watching out for all of us. I know this will help a lot of people rank up faster. Just to know, does this new thread replace your other thread where members report their unmerited posts? I'm asking because activities have been slow there, perhaps you were overwhelmed by the loads of requests of which I understand. Whatever be the case, always know that we appreciate all the efforts you are making to help other members of this local board to grow in the forum and any new requirements or procedures from you is acceptable by me and majority of us here.
